Was not Abraham the way, the truth and the life during his dispensation? Was not Moses the way, the truth and the life during his ministry? Did Noah teach Christianity? How about Abraham? How about Moses? Also, had God abandoned and forgotten 2000 or 3000 years ago the aboriginal people? Had got forgotten the people of North and South America? How about the Nordic people? How about Asia and oceanic people? It’s unthinkable to assume that your religion alone has been the only way. Also, Jesus Christ said ‘he was the way, the truth and the life and no one goes to the Father but through me’, it is that eternal reality of Christ that was speaking. That eternal reality has appeared from age to age with a new name and unlocking different potentials in the human race! So with that view in the Bible, Christ was right. He has always been the way, the truth, and the life.
Don’t let names getting in the way of you realizing a much bigger picture of Christ which has appeared from age to age with a new name. He also promised that upon his return he would again bear a new name:
“… And I will write on him My new name.”

Oh well, what the pope says is not so special, there are also "religious" scientists in the Vatican who believe in evolution.
They believe that the big bang was caused by God and then he let the laws of nature take their course and eventually man came into being.
So they do not believe in the story of creation in Genesis and therefore see Jesus as a random passer-by who has nothing special to tell us.
With these spiritual leaders the Catholic Church falls apart completely.
A priest only has to tell people that everything came into being by itself and that the story of Jesus no longer matters.
They curse in their own church and say that they can scientifically prove God and do not understand that a real God can never be scientifically proven, He is above everything.
The serpent in paradise said that Adam and Eve would become as wise as God, just like current science, which thinks that they can prove everything, like those people in the Vatican.
That serpent is apparently present every day and even blinds people in the Vatican who have studied the Bible.

Yes you have to believe and have faith in Jesus Christ and you still have to "work" at becomming a good person. Those "works" do not save you but are required by Christ to prove that you are following Him and "doing" what He taught.
They aren't a requirement of God . We are saved by grace alone not of ourselves lest anyone should boast . Now after being saved you remain in the word and seak his truth the holy spirit in you will lead you in truth and all good works . If you remain a baby in Christ you are still saved . Once saved always saved eternally saved .
