Well, sad morning here at the Jones racing loft we lost a lot of young birds and three adult birds to a raccoon🥺 there was a total of 15 birds killed and two were😮
Omg feeling so sorry for your loss experience and that of the survivors. I'm glad you immediately found the spot where the poor killer instinct driven raccoon got in, so now the others are safe now. Much love and strength from here 💚🫂 I once got a hawk off of one of the pigeons here because he didn't expect me to walk out of the door out right the second he tried to force the pigeon to the ground right in front of my feet, so he let off her. She immediately flew into my kitchen, sheltering in a corner and looking at me like "don't expect me to ever get out of here again". Her trauma lasted for about full two weeks. Everytime she noticed something in the sky, she got scared and went to her outdoor shelter that I had fixed for her. I'll never forget that look.
hate to say this mate but you only have your self to blame you sat on your arse and never put the latches on . And looking at some of the fronts you have on that shed they look like there rotting. build some new fronts and put better bolts on as that racoon will be back
Yeah we did have a crazy storm in Ohio last night. I am so sorry about your 12 birds dying that hurts any of us that love our pigeons the way we do sorry to hear that again 🙏🏼
They stink. People start yapping about nature and they gotta eat, etc. But, raccoons will ( as you know) kill more than they'll eat. Tend to pull the heads off. Leave the body. Sorry for the loss of a good portion of your flock. The times I have been broken into and raided were stormy too. Maybe the darkness and rain make them bolder? God bless and remember to listen to your own instincts.
Sorry to hear Abt ur loss brother Jones.... I just went threw the samething... 3 days ago I just bought 2 beautiful dark red recessive... Cock n Hen.. wakeup the 4 the day something had got in my holding shed.. and tore them to pieces... All I seen was a lot of feathers and no blood... Anyone know what might have kill them ???... From what I seen it looks like something just hand picked them to pieces 😮🥴
