Great review. Nice to see some new 450x content as it seem s to be lacking in general. Makes me cranky that bike isn’t available on Australia
I wish you would do a side by side comparison of the crf450x vs the crf450L , with the exception that you change the exhaust with an after market full system and vortex fuel map on the crf450l to make it a apple to apple comparison. I am guessing the crf450L will come out on top.
I have the 450rx too.I’ve ridden it twice and it dies at low to zero rpms as I’m coming to a sharp turn or just completing the trim and dies as I give the gas. You mentioned the recluse and air box.
oh my ! where to begin at, LOL, i have the 2012 crf 405 x, i ride it hard ! like she was meant to be, now my problem was the coil blew out and it also took out the cdi and the spark plug wire and the spark plug too, lol, honda wanted over 600 bucks in parts, not to mention the labor, i got my parts from trailtech at only 60 bucks, now i do run the K & N air filter, the stock one died after i tried to clean it after 3 cleans, and in dishsoap, so i went for the K & N :) i always look at my stuff before i ride, i broke it in and after that i went to full sythetic oil and i change it each time it has ANY black swirl in it, i STILL have my stock chain and sprockets, they look new, so my advise is, before you ride... make sure you check everything over and change your oil and filter if it has a HINT of a black spot in it EVEN ! ok i am done for now, but as Rondo Talbut used to say, of course you should have known :) it is not a regular car, it is a FULL ON RACE MACHINE, abuse it ! BUT ! check it each time and it will last for quite awhile :)

Question, I live in Texas so it's easy to plate a dirt. Already got a plated 650r and xr400r. Looking to sell both and get a Honda 450l. Would it make more sense to get a 450x and just plate it? I've already researched both bikes what's y'alls opinion?
Does this bike have the flame out issue that the L does?
Good review Jimmy. I do have a question though. I owned a 2005 450x, I believe that was the first year. It was a great bike out in the open but honestly it was kinda like driving a truck when you got it on single track, as in Kennedy meadows single track, which I'm sure you're familiar with. How is the new bike compared to the older models in the tight stuff? I do realize it probably wasn't designed for that but I'm just curious. My current bike, a 2017 ktm 500 is fantastic up at Kennedy meadows.
Jimmy do you think the jd jetting is as good as the vortex ecu as far as getting the same results at a better price ?
Hey what’s up, I’m in need of some help I got a full system FMF Q4 megabomb but it seems to be a little to long for my 450L The muffler is a perfect fit, it seems that the header is a lil to long... any suggestions, thank you ✌🏻

one more thing, i saw you all hitting that uphill bumps with your front tire and i dont ride that way, i would ride over that with my back tire, as the bike was designed to be, heck i have went through 3 back tires and i still have injection nipples on the front tire !!! :)
New pipe + new clutch + remap + bigger tank + hand guards + cost of bike = 💰💰💰💰
