Ok, I'm not going to watch it twice with you but I'll fill in some of the blanks and answer a few of your questions up til 27:35. Mamamoo debuted on June 19, 2014 with the first song in the medley, Mr Ambiguous. June 19 comes up later as 6 19 in Moonbyul's rap at the beginning of Gogobebe but I'll save the complete explanation of Byul's numerology until you react to the song. The signature mustache move in their harmonized intro is from the choreo for Mr Ambiguous. As singers they had a mature style and depth right from the start. You can easily find their debut performance of Mr Ambiguous on yt or watch a few of their rookie performances on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs such as Wait a Minute, Delilah or Backwoods for something truly spectacular. The song title is on the top line with the album and year of release underneath. Mamamoo always stands in the order you see in the video. From L to R: Moonbyul, Solar, Wheein, Hwasa. Hwasa is not an actress but she's a regular member of a tv show called I Live Alone so maybe you've seen her there. She has a fierce and commanding presence on stage and is sometimes called The Fatal Maknae because she's MMM"s youngest member and she makes anything she sings sound sexy, even children's songs lol. Solar has mentioned Amy Winehouse as an influence rather than Hwasa. Hwasa calls herself Rihanna's #1 fan. All members have successful solo careers. MMM has an extremely diverse and lengthy discography as a full group and as solo artists, along with the subunit Mamamoo+ (Solar & Moonbyul as a duo). This was the first session in Dingo's Killing Voice series and was filmed in 2020. It includes a few of their hits and favorite b-sides up til then but is just the tip of the Mamamoo iceberg. Starting from the rapper, she is Moonbyul also goes by Moonstar (she is also an excellent vocalist as well). The really strong belter is Solar. The airy voice is Wheein and the the raspy one is Hwasa (she was actually fighting a cold the day they recorded. Mamamoo are the strongest vocal group in Kpop. They debuted June 19 1914 (the 9/6 6/19 is referring to going to work (Korea is 9 to 6 rather than 9 to 5)). They are not disbanded but their last ot4 comeback was October of 2022. They spent the first half of 2023 doing their first American tour (Asia also but they've frequently toured there). At this point members are under 3 different companies, but we are still hoping for a comeback later this year. Solar has mentioned that Amy Winehouse and Nancy Griffith were two of her inspirations. Hwasa is a big fan of Rhianna. They all have successful solo careers. In the last 6 months Moonbyul, Wheein and Solar have all dropped albums. Wheein and Moonbyul are currently on world tours. Here are a couple of solo recomendations for each: Moonbyul Eclipse and Shutdown, Wheein Water Color and Make Me Happy, Hwasa Maria and Twit, Solar Honey and Spit it Out. Moonbyul and Solar have also released albums as a duo called Mamamoo+, I recommend Chico Malo and GGBB. They all have considerable acting talent and are great improv comedians. Their backstages are often hilarious. Solar is the only one who is technically an actor. She has starred in two musicals. Mata Hari in 2022 and The Hunchback of Notre Dame earlier this year. There are litterally hundreds of vids out there I could recommend. If you want their early sound, their debut was Mr Ambiguous and then Piano Man. A technical note: when you watch an early Mamamoo video you need to go to their channel and then search within to get subs. A google search will bring up a version that does not have subs. They have been a more "mature" group from the beginning. All of them were 18 or more (Solar 23) at debut. There are full vids for each of the songs you heard bits of in Killing Voice. Those would also be good choices. Their ultimate vocal flex is a concert clip called The Immortal Songs Medley. Immortal Songs is a competition show where the contestants cover songs by a famous Korean artist. Mamamoo was the first idol group to win the competition. They appeared 14 times and won 3 (Solar also did a solo appearance). In addition to being great singers and entertainers they are amazing human beings. You will want to watch a guide. Mamamoo are known as vocal queens! I'm glad that you enjoy their music. I discovered them recently too and fell in love with their singing, so I'm happy to see more people recognizing their talents 😊 As a few people here have already explained who they are, I'll skip that and give you my song/performance recommendations instead if you wanna check them out more! Group: You said you wanna know what they were like in 2016, right? That's 2 years after they debuted, so they were still considered as rookies then. They don't have any MV for I Miss You, but you can check out their Immortal Songs performance! All of them have debuted as soloists for a few years, so from left to right Moonbyul: She's the rapper. But as a solo, she focuses more on her vocals. If you wanna check her out as a vocalist, you can watch her Second World performances (esp her Refuge cover, highly recommend that). For her discography, you can check out Eclipse, Absence, Lunatic, Shutdown, CITT, and Touchin&Movin. Solar: The belter. Although her role in the group is powerful belter, you'll find that her solo works are vastly different than the side you see in the group. You'll see what I'm talking about if you check them out! Her songs are Spit It Out, Honey, But I, and Colours. Though if you wanna hear more of her soulful belter side, i recommend checking out her Solar Gamsung series. There are a few songs in the series, but I would recommend Love Has Gone in particular. Wheein: The one whose voice you said has a lot of depth. If you like her voice here, then you're in luck! She showcases these kind of vocals in her solo works and more. You can check out Easy, Watercolor, Goodbye, Make Me Happy, and In the Mood. She's also going on a tour right now in US and Europe, and if you really like her I highly recommend going to her concert if she visits your area because with mamamoo, you'd really want to hear them live if you can! Hwasa: The fierce one. She's the most popular member with the general public and have gone viral for her songs a couple of times, so maybe you've seen her from there? She's the first kpop idol who did and kickstared those dance challenges too. Her songs are Twit, Maria, LMM, I'm a B, I Love My Body, and Chili. Bit of a mix between fun and cunty and emotionally devastating. I would recommend deep diving into their discography and checking their b-sides as well if you find their more mainstream songs to your liking. They have a LOT of hidden gems in their discography. Oh you are SO RIGHT about Hwasa. Check out her Jazz covers. Her voice does suit that genre the most and not just the tone, but also her musicality. Some are just technically good singers and sure, can sing jazz songs, BUT there are people like her who can convey the emotion yet play with it and have fun with it and that’s what jazz music needs. Wheein suits R&B a lot. A LOT A LOT. Solar suits theater. Check out her musicals too! Moonbyul, well you already know she’s a good rapper, but I really like her softer songs, like Shutdown.
Mamamoo is my favorite group, say them live in LA last year as well. They really are up with the best of the best in the world for vocals, especially doing live vocals. They have over 400 videos and release 25+ songs every year when including group work, OSTs, collabs, covers and solo albums. This year is solo releases for 3 of them and likely all 4, they are also doing concerts. Solar is the powerbelter but really she and all of them can sing any genre and they do. Solar just released a new album last week, she has 6 songs each a different Genre, the rock and edm song But I and Colors have MVs the best song is Blues which is an actual blues song. Moonbyul(rapper) and Wheein( the honey vocals) released albums a couple months ago. Moonbyul can sing also. Hwasa has not released anything but it is likely coming. Watch MVs and Live because both are awesome. They song mature because they are. This video they are around 27 years old and now they are 28 to 33, they debuted older than typical for an Idol group. They have youtube channels also. Hwasa is not as active, Moonbyul and Wheein are active and mostly do content about activties. Solar has been doing youtube for 5 years, and there are a ton of videos, one of the best Michael Jackson man in the mirror covers is there, she originally did it with MJs original band and backup singers. Oh gosh there’s so much Mamamoo content out there because they’ve been around for 10 years and have done so many genres as a group and as solo artists. The second song in the video that you said you liked is Egotistic and that video is HOT! They all have a diverse body of solo work and it’s so hard to pick just one to suggest. Mamamoo always had mature vibes but with touch of funky-ness. There is reason why they are considered as ARTIST and not just idols in Korea. Moreover, Mamamoo is considered a WOMAN group iykwim & has always been for the women n the gays (men are appreciated but like account for 3%).

Check out Wheein’s bside from her redd album called butterfly (the TH-cam solo version), then paraglide from her album called whee, and then her whole in the mood album tbh (maybe spark? For more vocal). She does many different things with her vocals. Then her ost for shows are usually crazy. Like she had a song where it sounds like she’s whisper singing called shine on me and I don’t know how she didn’t pass out from lack of oxygen. Her falsetto in with my tears is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard.

The MAMAMOO members are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop as of Aug 27/23 - Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols at 117(2nd most credited famale artist overall... Yoon Mirae at 139), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well. - Solar has 41 credits to her name. I don't think I still need to put in an introduction on Mamamoo, there's already a ton of comments here that had introduce Mamamoo. I only had 2 bias Kpop group and that is the original Nation's Girl Group of South Korea Girls' Generation and Mamamoo. I can never express how much I love both of these groups. It has been mentioned already in most comments, Mamamoo members right now are all busy doing their solos, I am waiting on when they will comeback as a group, I was so happy when I was able to watch their last group concert, as I have been waiting for too long to be able to watch them live, and girl I tell you their live vocals + performance is really the best. I wish you can see more of their early debuts and to the latest subunit and solo music. You'll definitely fall in love with them. Kpop might have that general brand that not all are good singers but let me tell you Solar is not the only belter in Kpop industry I'm pretty sure you'll find many other good singers not just good but really has good vocal techniques not only belting high notes but those that really can sing with emotions on their voices. Mamamoo is top tier Kpop group with equally good vocalist for each member, which is rare. Killing voice videos will actually give you an idea on these wonderful singers who sings beautiful live. Maybe you can give a try to react to these Killing Voice videos, I would recommend Taeyeon Killing's Voice next, and there is also IU. Mamamoo is one of the 4 KPOP girl groups I really love. The other three are Second Generation Groups: 2NE1, Girls Generation, and 4Minute. Each of the groups have their own style but all have great vocals. Suggestions: 2NE1 "Come Back Home unplugged," and MAMA award show 2015 CL and 2NE1. If you are going to listen to their solo work, I'd say start out with Wheein (the one who's tone you said you really liked). Her style is more R&B. She is also about to start the US part of her tour on 5/17 in San Francisco, so if you're in the States, happen to live near one of the stops, and have the time, you could go check her out. She sounds AMAZING live.

Another group that debuted in 2014 along with Mamamoo, albeit from a different company, is Red Velvet. They are friends, as a whole group, and individual members have collab'ed with each other (example: MMM Moonbyul solo track "Selfish" featured RV's Seulgi). RV are also vocal queens. One caution: don't try to pin down who "the rapper" is in RV. They kind of hand that role around on a song-by-song basis Worth looking into!

Mamamoo debuted on June 19, 2014 with the first song in the medley, Mr Ambiguous. June 19 comes up later as 6 19 in Moonbyul's rap at the beginning of Gogobebe but I'll save the complete explanation of Byul's numerology until you react to the song. The signature mustache move in their harmonized intro is from the choreo for Mr Ambiguous.
As singers they had a mature style and depth right from the start. You can easily find their debut performance of Mr Ambiguous on yt or watch a few of their rookie performances on the singing competition tv show Immortal Songs such as Wait a Minute, Delilah or Backwoods for something truly spectacular.

The immortal songs medley. Pretty much everything you need to know about Mamamoo.
Starting from the rapper, she is Moonbyul also goes by Moonstar (she is also an excellent vocalist as well). The really strong belter is Solar. The airy voice is Wheein and the the raspy one is Hwasa (she was actually fighting a cold the day they recorded. Mamamoo are the strongest vocal group in Kpop. They debuted June 19 1914 (the 9/6 6/19 is referring to going to work (Korea is 9 to 6 rather than 9 to 5)). They are not disbanded but their last ot4 comeback was October of 2022. They spent the first half of 2023 doing their first American tour (Asia also but they've frequently toured there). At this point members are under 3 different companies, but we are still hoping for a comeback later this year. Solar has mentioned that Amy Winehouse and Nancy Griffith were two of her inspirations. Hwasa is a big fan of Rhianna.
They all have successful solo careers. In the last 6 months Moonbyul, Wheein and Solar have all dropped albums. Wheein and Moonbyul are currently on world tours. Here are a couple of solo recomendations for each: Moonbyul Eclipse and Shutdown, Wheein Water Color and Make Me Happy, Hwasa Maria and Twit, Solar Honey and Spit it Out. Moonbyul and Solar have also released albums as a duo called Mamamoo+, I recommend Chico Malo and GGBB.
They all have considerable acting talent and are great improv comedians. Their backstages are often hilarious. Solar is the only one who is technically an actor. She has starred in two musicals. Mata Hari in 2022 and The Hunchback of Notre Dame earlier this year.
There are litterally hundreds of vids out there I could recommend. If you want their early sound, their debut was Mr Ambiguous and then Piano Man. A technical note: when you watch an early Mamamoo video you need to go to their channel and then search within to get subs. A google search will bring up a version that does not have subs. They have been a more "mature" group from the beginning. All of them were 18 or more (Solar 23) at debut. There are full vids for each of the songs you heard bits of in Killing Voice. Those would also be good choices.
Their ultimate vocal flex is a concert clip called The Immortal Songs Medley. Immortal Songs is a competition show where the contestants cover songs by a famous Korean artist. Mamamoo was the first idol group to win the competition. They appeared 14 times and won 3 (Solar also did a solo appearance).
In addition to being great singers and entertainers they are amazing human beings. You will want to watch a guide. There are 3 worth considering (and you could of course watch more than one). The Purple Hawk from 2019 has the most information about the individual members. The Moo_YT one from 2022 has more recent info and more about the group. Group: You said you wanna know what they were like in 2016, right? That's 2 years after they debuted, so they were still considered as rookies then. They don't have any MV for I Miss You, but you can check out their Immortal Songs performance!
All of them have debuted as soloists for a few years, so from left to right
Moonbyul: She's the rapper. But as a solo, she focuses more on her vocals. If you wanna check her out as a vocalist, you can watch her Second World performances (esp her Refuge cover, highly recommend that). For her discography, you can check out Eclipse, Absence, Lunatic, Shutdown, CITT, and Touchin&Movin.
Solar: The belter. Although her role in the group is powerful belter, you'll find that her solo works are vastly different than the side you see in the group. You'll see what I'm talking about if you check them out! Her songs are Spit It Out, Honey, But I, and Colours. Though if you wanna hear more of her soulful belter side, i recommend checking out her Solar Gamsung series. There are a few songs in the series, but I would recommend Love Has Gone in particular.
Wheein: The one whose voice you said has a lot of depth. If you like her voice here, then you're in luck! She showcases these kind of vocals in her solo works and more. You can check out Easy, Watercolor, Goodbye, Make Me Happy, and In the Mood. She's also going on a tour right now in US and Europe, and if you really like her I highly recommend going to her concert if she visits your area because with mamamoo, you'd really want to hear them live if you can!
Hwasa: The fierce one. She's the most popular member with the general public and have gone viral for her songs a couple of times, so maybe you've seen her from there? She's the first kpop idol who did and kickstared those dance challenges too. Her songs are Twit, Maria, LMM, I'm a B, I Love My Body, and Chili. Bit of a mix between fun and cunty and emotionally devastating.
I would recommend deep diving into their discography and checking their b-sides as well if you find their more mainstream songs to your liking. They have a LOT of hidden gems in their discography.

Oh you are SO RIGHT about Hwasa. Check out her Jazz covers. Her voice does suit that genre the most and not just the tone, but also her musicality. Some are just technically good singers and sure, can sing jazz songs, BUT there are people like her who can convey the emotion yet play with it and have fun with it and that’s what jazz music needs.

Mamamoo is my favorite group, say them live in LA last year as well. They really are up with the best of the best in the world for vocals, especially doing live vocals. They have over 400 videos and release 25+ songs every year when including group work, OSTs, collabs, covers and solo albums. This year is solo releases for 3 of them and likely all 4, they are also doing concerts. Solar is the powerbelter but really she and all of them can sing any genre and they do. Solar just released a new album last week, she has 6 songs each a different Genre, the rock and edm song But I and Colors have MVs the best song is Blues which is an actual blues song. Moonbyul(rapper) and Wheein( the honey vocals) released albums a couple months ago. Moonbyul can sing also. Hwasa has not released anything but it is likely coming. Watch MVs and Live because both are awesome. They song mature because they are. This video they are around 27 years old and now they are 28 to 33, they debuted older than typical for an Idol group. They have youtube channels also. Hwasa is not as active, Moonbyul and Wheein are active and mostly do content about activties. Solar has been doing youtube for 5 years, and there are a ton of videos, one of the best Michael Jackson man in the mirror covers is there, she originally did it with MJs original band and backup singers. Acapellas and more. Jazz, big band, blues, Rock, R&B, reggaeton, latin plus they do retro sounds and mvs like they are in the 1930s or 60s. Everything they do is this good and better.

Oh gosh there’s so much Mamamoo content out there because they’ve been around for 10 years and have done so many genres as a group and as solo artists. Their debut song is Mr Ambiguous followed by Piano Man. Both are jazzy and they definitely set the bar high as a grown woman vocal group very early in their journey. The second song in the video that you said you liked is Egotistic and that video is HOT!

- Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols at 117(2nd most credited famale artist overall... Yoon Mirae at 139), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well.
- Solar has 41 credits to her name. She wrote the lyrics and composition for her solo song, “Spit it Out”. Composer on "Honey".
- Hwasa has 46 credits. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. ("Somebody" w/Loco).

I don't think I still need to put in an introduction on Mamamoo, there's already a ton of comments here that had introduce Mamamoo. I only had 2 bias Kpop group and that is the original Nation's Girl Group of South Korea Girls' Generation and Mamamoo. I can never express how much I love both of these groups. It has been mentioned already in most comments, Mamamoo members right now are all busy doing their solos, I am waiting on when they will comeback as a group, I was so happy when I was able to watch their last group concert, as I have been waiting for too long to be able to watch them live, and girl I tell you their live vocals + performance is really the best. I wish you can see more of their early debuts and to the latest subunit and solo music. You'll definitely fall in love with them.
Kpop might have that general brand that not all are good singers but let me tell you Solar is not the only belter in Kpop industry I'm pretty sure you'll find many other good singers not just good but really has good vocal techniques not only belting high notes but those that really can sing with emotions on their voices. Mamamoo is top tier Kpop group with equally good vocalist for each member, which is rare. Killing voice videos will actually give you an idea on these wonderful singers who sings beautiful live. Maybe you can give a try to react to these Killing Voice videos, I would recommend Taeyeon Killing's Voice next, and there is also IU. Both are vocal goddess, I am telling you they have beautiful voices and good techniques. Looking forward to your reactions on these Killing Voice videos.

Mamamoo is one of the 4 KPOP girl groups I really love. The other three are Second Generation Groups: 2NE1, Girls Generation, and 4Minute. Each of the groups have their own style but all have great vocals. Suggestions: 2NE1 "Come Back Home unplugged," and MAMA award show 2015 CL and 2NE1. If you are going to listen to their solo work, I'd say start out with Wheein (the one who's tone you said you really liked). Her style is more R&B. Mamamoo is the REASON there IS a "Killing Voice", they were the FIRST. And it's one of the reasons it's so short.
Before them it was The "Killing Verse" and featured ONLY Rappers.
Speciffically "The Killing Voice" exists because of Solar. SOLAR(w/Mamamoo) wanted to join 'Killing verse' but WASN'T accepted.
Then Dingo Music created 'Killing Voice' and called MAMAMOO. Their video currently has the most Killing Voice views... we need a second one.

Another group that debuted in 2014 along with Mamamoo, albeit from a different company, is Red Velvet. They are friends, as a whole group, and individual members have collab'ed with each other (example: MMM Moonbyul solo track "Selfish" featured RV's Seulgi). RV are also vocal queens. One caution: don't try to pin down who "the rapper" is in RV. They kind of hand that role around on a song-by-song basis Worth looking into!
They all have solo songs and unit songs. Get your life sis🤓 I recommend “Honey” by Solar, “Watercolor” by Wheein, “Be Calm” by Hwasa, & “Iljido” by Moonbyul. They all have bangers
