Running the Eastonmade 22MB firewood processor is a blast I highly recommend it to all of you to get one for your firewood production. #firewood #eastonmade

I retired in 2016 and started producing my own firewood. Collecting, cutting, splitting, stacking. I enjoy doing it. A couple of months ago a young man tragically lost his life in an accident involving a chipper up here by Toronto. It was his first day on the job. Safety cannot be emphasized enough. God bless.
Love that old chipper!!! Great photography with the wood chips covering the camera. And those kittens playing with the moth in the tractor bucket was adorable. Never miss a morning at the woodlot🤠
That white birch is good wood for here anyways. Definitely got be split fast or it rots in the bark. The old chipper works good. Keep up the good work.
…..Good Lord I ain’t seen an old school Vermeer PTO chipper since I got outta high school and the old man told me to get a job or join the Army, granted I shoulda kept that job!, but the allure of gettin my head shaved and wearin khaki green uniforms all the while eatin Shizz on a Single and Dinty Moore MRE’s while gettin yelled at was just too much for me that Summer!. Then again I wouldn’t have met the vivacious and very drunk Irene while on leave after that, then again her rendition of “Crazy on You” by Heart at the top of her lungs in the back parkin lot from a van powered stereo P.A. after closin time at the bar is reminiscent of the volume of that chipper!…..ahhh young love & massive amounts of Lowenbrau……good times indeed!!!!
As long as that Birch has been cut and laying I was kind of curious how bad the splitter was going to smooosh and debark which looks kind of like what I was expecting but it all burns. Temps are cooling off for the weekend which will be great for getting several tree jobs completed.
Hey Chris and woodyard team. Nice days here now but still freezing at night🥶 winter is kinda doing a hangover morning roll off the couch around here. Splitting wood myself again which ive set up using your methods of American cords which is confusing everyone else around here when they ask how many square metres of firewood ive got😂GNI
Hi Chris. Thanks for your daily videos. It is the best job I ever had, watching them, that is. I have a question. How many cubic feet of loose stacked (chucked) wood is 1/3 of a cord? eg dimensions of the 'truckload' and or the various depths you refer to in the trailer. I have been cutting and splitting wood and have a decent pile accumulated, and am curious as to how much I might have. I would prefer not stacking it. thanks for the information. Kevin
The volume is much more not stacked. i have been told that it is about 180cubic feet but I was also told it was 25% more so it would be 160cubic feet verses 126 stacked???
Good morning everyone!!!! 🌞. Chris, you may check with your local humane society and see if they have any free spay and neuter clinics. Sometimes they have them. 👍❤️📹🐱🐶🐈🐕🤔😃
Nice chipper. Can you retrofit the PTO shaft with a peotective cover? Nice gane of bucket tag with the lens of your watch. New bin for beech. The mammoth dust pans are a grest help.
@InTheWoodyard I. went to a few farm rescue schools back in the day. At every school they make a straw person and they shoe what happens if a pant leg, hand or if someone steps over the old model PTO shaft. It does not end well and nothing good will ever come from this type if injury.
Scotty uh no I mean Chris, how in world do you have time to respond to comments. Georgia has a 24hr day in Wisconsin it must be 36hr days. Oh, it's 70 in GA. With a high humidity. Everyone have a great day.
It's a side job the cats have. When nobody's looking they run in the opposite direction to the earth's rotation slowing the day down so Chris can fit everything in😂 only effects Wisconsin though, more cat magic 😂
@@InTheWoodyardThanks! But in need to find someone here in CNY. I was just wondering if decorative birch was a thing in WI. When we are driving in the Adirondacks, she wants me to stop every time she sees a nice one and cut it down. A big fine for me if I was caught during that!
What's the plan for storage of the birch? I sell it at a PREMIUM, but it's gotta be cut & handled just right. The ladies of the house love the look of it, but if it's cut in July, you lose all the pretty bark.
@@InTheWoodyard Yep! I cut April/May and Sept/Oct only. Cut 1 day, split and stacked under cover the next. But I only do about 6 full cords a year of it.
Bill Update He has been on NPO or nothing by mouth since midnight. At 1500 hrs a team came to get him as it was show time. Show time was first thing in the morning. But as Jimmy Buffet said it is five oclock somewhere. if you were in the military you know the hurry up and wait drill. While he was waiting. the head cardiologist csme in snd she explained that all of the studies done yesterday were normsl. So still working on the source of the problem. Bill thinks it is electrical. Just like at fires if you could not find a cause. blame it on electrical. He is having the TEUS Trans Esophageal Ultra Sound. Right after that he will have the Cardio Conversion. They slready have the electrode pads in place. I am heading to the hospital in a few minutes. He will be in recovery for a bit.
Bill is resting comfortably. He was shocked back into a normal rhythm. His Teus went very well. Twelve people worked to get him ready for back to back procedures. He is still NPO for a bit and then he can order dinner. Thanks to all who kept us in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank You for asking Yesterday he had two procedures scheduled. They only did the catherization. The Cardio conversion team was ready to go after the cath team finished up their mission. So, the a few days shy of 80 year old Superman had no clogged arteries. No balloon and no stents. A few dots here and there of sludge, but absolutely nothing needed to be worked on. They went through his right wrist to scope the right atrium. Then they went subclavian. below the collar bone. to take readings of the pressure in the left atrium. They are taking thst data and coming up with a plan for a problem they have yet to find the source. He does have leaky valves, but no surgery is required. depending on what the magic computer spits out. he might have valves clipped, so they close in the proper order. That is on the back burner. He still is in A Fib. Today, he was scheduled for a trans esophageal ultra sound. This is to watch the valves from the back of the heart. They worm their way down the esophagus to get images. After that, they were going to attempt to shock him back into NSR or normal sinus rhythm. This will be done with 60 joules and drugs. Both of these he will be unconscious while they perform the procedure he was conscious for the cath lab. So, after the nurses and doctors talked to me and he was all settled in he said after 39 years one month and 17 days in the military I have no dignity left. He said that there are teams for everything. When they took him down to the cath lab, he was only wearing a gown. They had him take his Tidy whites off and his Jammie s. I thought you are going through a wrist and neck. but.....whst do I know. He said that when he got to the lab, there were nine people on the prep team. The all were wearing blue tooth and talking to each other. He looked at me and he said THEY SHAVED MY NUTS. He said why are you shaving me. They said that they use the neck and wrist which allows for quicker rehab. if things went south, they go for the femoral in the groin. I said oh you are going to be itching." He said the shaver was attached to a vacuum . and then they used lint picker upper things as tack cloths. I said, "Oh boy you are going to be itching. He said oh. they put lotion on everything. So far today i have not heard anything. He wanted me to stay home and regenerate. I am going there at 4. We have dinner together. This VA is one of the top two in the country. I am over the moon impressed. They can not do enough to help the family and the patient.

Yup, lots of fun for sure!
The chipper is a beast! Looks like the Birch will be completely barkless when it hits the fire! 🔥 Have a great and safe weekend!

That old chipper works great. She isn't a looker but she's a wonderful working machine. Great job, as always in the woodyard.

G’morning Chris ! Looks fun! Pretty tempting. That chipper really makes wood smaller ! Blow it right into the fire next time. Lol.

The birch bark is some pretty tough stuff! Cool chipper!!👍👍
Yes it is. I works great!
Birch looks fairly straight. This would make a great processor demo video.

Oh wow love the cats chasing the "nothing". I have Doberman the does that with a red lazer.
Yup, some think it is fun others think it is mean but we both have fun!
Super Well Dun!

Good Friday morning Chris the weather looks perfect out there,, and have great weekend..
Thanks, yup, the weather is always perfect, when we have it, which is every day!
Nice load of Firewood!Chipper looks vintage it's cool!

Great splitting session!! That birch sounds kinda dry already!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
yup, no it is pretty wet inside.
Can't wait to get back at it most of my stores are out of bundles lucky they are understanding
Yup, someone else might get the accounts!
The chipper worked great. And making good birch firewood.
Yup, thanks!
I've been waiting for awhile to see you tackle the birch! I love working with it
So far it has been very messy!
Use the mulch & wood dust for fertilizer on the crops ,
DON'T BURN IT !!!
Mix it into the dirt !!!
That bis the plan.
Nice birch logs
Yes they are!

Ya, you might want to stick to the native ways for clarity.
When you are in Rome do as the Roman's. The metric system has been pushed here since I was in third grade. Only medical folk use metric.
It's raining wood chips!!!!
Yup, it will be raining a lot more soon!
Burt to the rescue,

Is he by any chance a mild mannered reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper ?
Yup!

lower it down so the shaft is nearer to level- you will blow out those joints at sharp angle like that.

Thanks 👍

Yup!!!
If you can smell the birch, that session must have been great! How much could you smell it?
It smells like birch not as good as cherry!
Good way to get rid of brush, what you going to do with that birch costumers like straight birch??
The birch will be cut and split!
Nice video Chris. Birch looks pretty good in the trailer. Do you have a market for the Birch & the chips? Cat fun makes for a nice video ending. GNI
Yes we do, I will sell the firewood and use the chips for fill and compost fertilizer.
Chris, you sell any of that birch for decorative purposes?
My wife what’s me to find 3 to 5 nice white birch logs to put in fireplace when not in use.
It is all cut up already but I can get you some!

No
No, about 3/4ish
