    The problem i see with generic vs sovereign silver.. is that if you shop around.. you can find a sovereign coin very closely priced to the cheapest rounds. Case in point..philharmonics are 'rounds' priced at several sites at the moment.. or very, very close

    I kind of think the 1 good strategy is to buy the least expensive, that might be rounds, bars or coins at any given time.
    For example here in the UK right now it's cheaper to buy silver Britannias than bars.
    Here's some pricing I just pulled from one of the most well known dealers online here.
    10 x 1oz Britannias = £283.56
    10 x 1oz Silvertowne bars = £302.98
    A 10oz SilverTowne bar = £295.46
    The bars I listed are the cheapest they offer at those weights.
    It's not until you start buying in half kilo weight bars that the price per ounce falls below that of the Britannia

    • @SilverBritches
      @SilverBritches  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think all of that really boils down to high prices = bad and lower prices = good. I think it's a little more nuanced than that, but it does depend upon your goals, your strategy, and your level of discretionary currency that can be brought to bear. Strategy can overwhelm price, so it's not always cut & dry. Having said that, the permutations will continue to be debated, which is a great thing. This is where people can brainstorm and eventually develop the best strategy that works for them.

    Bringing down expense cost averages isn't easy.
    Stacking a base of cheap generics gives a buffer.
    If someone stacks 100 oz of cheap generics, and then pick up something with a higher premium, the cost average doesn't change much.
    On the other hand, if the 1st 100 oz was high premiums and they pick up a "Spot deal" the cost average change is very little.
    Keeping that number down is easier then fixing it later.
    After 100oz everything gets easier.

    I only buy 1oz gold maple. I’m from Canada tho if I was American I’d buy theirs. I don’t like silver at all but that’s just my preference. Also fractional gold with the spot premiums it’s going to possibly wipe out the next 3-5 years of profits because of how much premiums you’d pay to buy an ounce. If gold was at 1800 and I buy 1/10 coins you’d pay like 2500 per ounce and you may lose money if you don’t hold for 10+ years. I think gold will go up this year but maybe not still. If something bad happens people will buy Russian dollars or Chinese dollars or whatever country has good money. Just like all poor countries take usd. It’s not like if usd goes bad or the economy gets bad people will trade in gold. But the gold will save your value when you buy it. I think it’s a good preservation, not a good investment at all, and for sure not to be used as currency although it could. I buy 1/4 my income into gold just sits in storage for last 7 years but if I want to get rich it wouldn’t be from gold it’s just a safety thing. Ive sold gold for property a couple times and it makes me money per month, that’s what I consider an investment. Gold is great tho I am a fan of it.

The West's ill-advised sanctions against their own interests are continuing, yet they are also scrambling to allow certain US and European companies exemptions.
      NZ does a LOT of business with China and that will continue.......................unless Taiwan is next on Americas hit-list, because we will get dragged into it.

    I buy for liquidity, for tough times when identification is at a premium. Sovereign metals, especially American, are more easily identified (therefore harder to fake), and potentially more liquid in this country. Although, this hypothesis hasn't yet been fully tested in good times.
    However, I do collect various non-sovereign 10 ounce silver bars, especially Engelhard and various others.
    There are tax reporting requirements on foreign bullion , so while less expensive and affordable, it's not as private.

In a SHTF scenario where you need to use PM for barter or commercial transactions, sovereign coins should have the edge. If we ever get into a bartering economy, it won’t take long for the people to learn about constitutional Ag. It will be a very quick learning curve. Of course it’s fractional and not easily counterfeited. I think that’s exactly why the premiums have gone up- fear of paper money/CBDCs worthlessness. Farmers, gun salesman, laborers will take it. IMO everyone in the family needs $500 face value. If it never gets that bad, we’ll then you still have the silver. Good video Dawg.

    I disagree with buying all nations bullion... I personally think sticking to your region is beneficial and going around the globe provides no marginal benefit with current prices/premiums. example: You can lower your 1oz bullion premium by buying maple leafs but typically NOT lower it further by buying kangaroos etc... There will always be more demand for maples in north America vs random other nations. Same goes for Mexican 50 pesos 1.2oz bullion coins.

    • @SilverBritches

    • @SilverBritches
      @SilverBritches  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@QuadTap I didn’t realize they were the same price. As far as I’m concerned silver kangaroos are cheaper than maples but have worse quality than maples. Gold on the other hand are very comparable and in my experience they usually get the same buy back price here locally. That buyback price will vary depending on your local market versus major retailers. Either way we’re talking small change here. Now the difference in eagles versus all other bullion is where the big difference lies.

    • @rustyshackleford2719
      @rustyshackleford2719 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@QuadTap In the future, Kangaroos have the potential to fetch a collector's premium due to the changing design that Maples will never have. I'm American and I strongly prefer the Kangaroo over the Maple as it's a higher quality(Perth is way better at quality control than RCM) more interesting and more beautiful coin. It certainly doesn't make sense for Americans to have too many 1 oz Maples due to reporting requirements. The Kangaroo doesn't have this problem. I don't exclusively stack Kangaroos but it's my favorite. I have Britannias too. In fact Britannia is far superior to the maple for Americans too. No reporting requirements and even more difficult to counterfeit. I also have some Maples in case I needed to move to Canada for some reason. It's always hilarious hearing American stackers say how all they buy is Eagles. What happens if SHTF and you need to leave the USA with your gold . If you have only stacked 22kt eagles then you are going to be taxed in many places for its lack of purity. That goes without mentioning that Eagles aren't that desirable outside of the US. But since I live here, I should own some and will start buying them but it'll never be anything over 10-15% of my stack. The message this video sends about flexibility is totally correct.
