Man this is both nostalgic, but also depressing. Probably the greatest time in this game's history of one of my most favorite games, is just gone. Has been gone. At least there's still cool videos of it like this one
Years ago, those 3 notes at 0:30 would transport me from the stresses of the real world to a place of pure magic and wonder and adventure. WOTLK was the very best of WoW.
That part in "Glooooria honorifice proelium facio" above all.... at 8:40 is very diffucult to translate and understand keeping in mind just the tempo and the exactl figures lenght if you don't know the original very very clear, so in taht case I think its better to sing by ear, in this particular case I think it gets better, I tell you cause I sang it too, and although I knew the song, not everyone of my choir partners did as well (not by heart), so they needed to (tried to) understand that exactly lenght by counting and once we did there was more work to assemble and join that with the orchestra and.... don't, very hard to get to understand and replicate it was... so Good job I have to say too!
Yeah it wasn't perfect but just looking at them they're definitely not professionals, most of them are kids. The few older ones are probably their teachers, this kind of orchestra is common in music schools.
As a former violinist, I would've had much higher expectations, especially since they are college students, not middle schoolers, but some of them are probably less experienced than I am so I can cut them some slack. Part of the problem could be mics (as someone who once sat right behind the trumpets, I think the brass don't really need mics to be heard clearly), but I think part of it is also the conductor, because parts of it seem to drag on and are at a significantly slower tempo than in the original soundtrack. He probably hasn't heard the song enough times to know that his tempo is off. Some of the notes sounded off-pitch, too. Overall, I think they did a good job and most people would find it enjoyable. It just gets really irritating for me because I have a trained ear.
Yes, the mic positions are definitely the problem on this recording. Them being in college doesn't necessarily mean they're going to be good btw, this is a student-run orchestra, and the kids playing there aren't guaranteed to be music students, just students of the college in question.

You just brought a tear to my eye 😢
TH-cam 2020... randomly recommends music from my favorite WoW expansion even tho I haven't played in forever. Back in 2008, life was easier then... go to work, come home, play WoW, sleep for a few minutes, repeat.
A few years ago I saw this being played with a choir of about 100 students. To this date it's one of the most powerful moments of my life!
Man this is both nostalgic, but also depressing. Probably the greatest time in this game's history of one of my most favorite games, is just gone. Has been gone. At least there's still cool videos of it like this one
Bitter sweet.
and Blizzard's situation now....
Dude... private servers still exists. WOTLK lives on
Private servers are not that bad
@@MajorBjork private servers are empty,i can barely pass across a player, i miss the crowds right outside the gates of orgrimmar, i used duel there..
Whoever composed this is a genius!
Jeffrey Interiano Russel Browser and Jason Hayes are the composers if I am not wrong.
It includes Russel Brower's, Jason Hayes', Glenn Stafford's and Derek Duke's tracks, but Russell is the one who put the Login screen track together.
Man this song is nearly making me tear up. What an amazing time I had as a teenager. Cant believe it was that long ago.
so amazing songs like this composed hundreds of years ago are still played
lol, it's been a bit more than a decade xD
Omg, this is so much touching and fabulous. I'm over the moon thanks to these musicians. Thank you very much!
2:30
So what do you play?
I dunno... the number 4?
hahahhahaha you killed me thanks for the laugh oh damn that came out of nowhere
hahaha coffee all over
thats what i exactly thinkin
har har har. brilliant!
I thought what you said had something to do with the game. And I clicked the time and I died laughing! Man that was hilarious. 😂😂😂
The brought tears to my eyes. So many memories came to back to me. All the friends, all the good times.
Add Professor Snape as conductor, John Frusciante as solo violinist and you have the best live reproduction of the best game music ever.
“Let the come...”
“Frostmourne hungers.”
m
1:30 the guy top middle must play the game
Michael Buck why?
He looked genuinely happy, as did I, while it was being played, not just someone who is listening to nice music, but someone who really recognized it!
Yes , he looks really happy!
Michael Buck you are right he is so happy
Omg yes! He has this special look that only wow wotlk players have when they hear THIS specific song.
The most epic and well known wow song :D
Even now in 2021 it’s still a masterpiece
I will never get tired of listening to music from the World of Warcraft. Bravo!
This has been up for 2 years and im very disappointed to have only found this now. This is awesome
Don't get me wrong, the whole thing is amazing!
But 8:41 is when shit gets real, goosebumps everywhere!
this passage is originally from warcraft 3 ;-)
Mateus Skaeld that's 6:58 for me, the brass in this segment is just magnificent (room for improvement here, but in the original it's beautiful)
That's Call to Arms.
agree
@53hasek Are you refeering to Arthas triumphal return?
"My son, the day you were born, very forests of Lordearon whispered the name...
ARTHAS!"
Realm is full. Position in queue: 13847 Estimated time: 488 min
This always stirs up so many emotions and memories for me. Makes me cry. 🥲 I will never get tired of the WotLK sound track its SO good. 🥰
The level of satisfaction on the performers faces for getting to be a part of this is unreal
amazing! I just picture the log in screen. incredible expansion
Liberto26 this is the song wrath of the lich king. It was the music that played at the start screen. Unfortunately never had invincible...
Years ago, those 3 notes at 0:30 would transport me from the stresses of the real world to a place of pure magic and wonder and adventure. WOTLK was the very best of WoW.
Man I miss this log in screen. I just miss this whole expansion.
Hunter Thibodeaux join warmane!
This is the most majestic piece of music I have ever heard
Hiky fck this brought a tear to my eye. So many great things about OLD BLIZZARD and their music is one of them.
9:09-9:22 chills...
Entire piece was great, thanks for doing this!
The best game ever
some places were a bit off timed and the choir was definitely quiet but in a lot of the parts it felt like the original, good job!
What do you think th-cam.com/video/xhUduton6Bc/w-d-xo.html we failed in the same part -_-
Yeah it wasn't perfect but just looking at them they're definitely not professionals, most of them are kids.
