He earned that nickname as the host of a battle said he was killing his competition, he "killed the mic" & then called him "Killer Mike". That is where his artist name came from. Also, he HAS won a Grammy before - as a featured artist w/ Outkast for "Whole World" many many years ago. This is his 4th grammy & first 3 for his solo material.

The one big thing which has not been mentioned is what happened that even caused a confrontation with security to begin with? There must be a reason that security was even interacting with him to begin with, no? That's a big piece of the puzzle in my eyes, and one that can really change the narrative one way or the other

The way the law works in most states, is if the STATE decides to press charges, they will. Current police chief Michael Moore has the owness to explain the discrepancy and uneven justic and laws. There cannot be laws that apply only to some. Law is law and no one person should be above that law. When a witnessed is committed there are laws in place for that. There is no "unless" or ambiguity. If there is then that is what the court system Judges and attornies that argue interpretation of the law. It is not up to the law enforcement to interpret the law. In California, the decision to prosecute a case doesn't solely rest on whether the victim chooses to press charges. the state has the right to move forward regardless of the victim. The prosecutor is the only one who can decide if the charges should be dropped.
