I know everyone loved Tim Daly's Superman voice in Superman TAS, but I prefer JL and JLU Superman voiced by George Newbern for one reason. When he gets mad, George slips into his Sephiroth voice (that at the time, he hadn't done yet) and as a Final Fantasy nerd, that always makes me smile.
Must be so satisfying for superman do this usually he has to hold it back because if he punches someone to are they could end up well for lack of a better word jelly but Darksid can take it he’s one of the few guys he could cut loose on,
Best iteration of both Superman and Darksied, the rivalry these two had in the animated series was just iconic. It’s a tie between these two and of course Batman and the Joker, but every single interaction between these two was just absolute peak fiction. I know people see Lex as Superman’s nemesis (with good reason) but for me I always saw it as Darksied thanks to the animated series and both Justice League and Unlimited. Lex came off more as petty if anything due to having his shine taken away, but Darksied just loved to absolutely torment Sups mentally and physically for the hell of it. From killing Dan Terpin out of spite, brainwashing Superman to be his pawn, saying shit like “if I’d known one humans death would pain you this much I would have killed more.” The man just absolutely loved to mess with him for his own sick amusement, not to mention that it was always on sight whenever they laid eyes on one another. Everything about their dynamic was just gold, it’s a damn shame we haven’t really gotten anything like this between these two since because it works so perfectly.
Superman was actually willing to kill Darkseid here, and very capable. His heat vision burned actual holes through his foot, could have been his head. Batman knows that a killer Superman is a giant risk to... basically everything. I appreciate him doing everything he could to not let that happen.
I love the Fact that out of all of the Foes in Superman’s Roster of Villains, Darkseid is the Only One that has Kal Full of Hatred and Rage that he might Cross the Line on the God of Evil if he has One Chance.
In this scene, I don't think Batman is strong enough to pull Superman through the boom tube, I think he should instead use kryptonite to weaken him and drag his body through it, Orion's body too actually (it seems more logical as the force of the wind should realistically be a big problem for Batman if this isn't the case). It's established in the next two-part episode that Batman always carries kryptonite around with him, so this makes total sense.
We didn't see darkseid after this because the explotion killed him. He was actually revived in the justice league finale and he had an awesome rematch with superman ! I recomment you check it out , it is awesome !
My favorite exchange between these two. Darkseid: you really are a glutton for punishment! Time and again I’ve e beaten you, humbled you. What makes you think today’s outcome will be any different?
I think the French version was a way more badass : "I'm gonna hit you so hard that they will have to take your digital prints for recognizing you. Bring it on"
Superman:"any minute now, brainiac will explode. And guess what, you're going with him." (Superman uses his heat vision to blast Darkseid's tubebox) "no, Darkseid to get off this rock you'll have to go through me."
"I won't stop until you're just a greasy smear on my fist." It's rather bracingly chilling to hear Superman, the gentle giant we all love, be this threatening. And has anyone noticed that between the end of Justice League's Season 1 and this season's two-part premiere, Superman has somehow gotten a lot younger?
He still won Bro, he couldn't finish Darkseid because of Bats (and well because he would've died in the explotion too). Darkseid did die or was defeated in this episode but was resurrected by Lex at the end of Unlimited

Darksied is one of the few villains that Superman is willing to kill.
2:06 This was the moment that you knew, that Superman was getting ready to cross that line.
2:40 Is where we were about to see Superman straight-up beat a God to death.
no, I think the "greasy smear" line was when he was gonna cross the line
Love how the Superman Animated Series music starts plating around 0:35. You just know right there that this fight is gonna be a straight DISRESPECTFUL smack down.
Also, I think it's cool that Darkseid seems to be hesitant to use his Beams, considering what Superman did with them during the last encounter.
Another underrated fight was theirs during the finale of STAS
I know everyone loved Tim Daly's Superman voice in Superman TAS, but I prefer JL and JLU Superman voiced by George Newbern for one reason. When he gets mad, George slips into his Sephiroth voice (that at the time, he hadn't done yet) and as a Final Fantasy nerd, that always makes me smile.
Must be so satisfying for superman do this usually he has to hold it back because if he punches someone to are they could end up well for lack of a better word jelly but Darksid can take it he’s one of the few guys he could cut loose on,
That look of incredulity @2:49 gets me everytime lmao
There's just something about seeing Superman being slapped like a child that just stays with you.
"Seems you need another lesson in humility BOY" 🌚
I loved seeing him punching Darkseid through the roof
You can always tell when the animation budget is just a little bit higher than usual. THIS is one of those moments!
Superman clowning on Darkseid again after TAS. God I love seeing Kal just let loose.
"This is where you belong Superman. Under my heel."

SHORYUKEN!
🤣🤣🤣
Best iteration of both Superman and Darksied, the rivalry these two had in the animated series was just iconic. It’s a tie between these two and of course Batman and the Joker, but every single interaction between these two was just absolute peak fiction. I know people see Lex as Superman’s nemesis (with good reason) but for me I always saw it as Darksied thanks to the animated series and both Justice League and Unlimited. Lex came off more as petty if anything due to having his shine taken away, but Darksied just loved to absolutely torment Sups mentally and physically for the hell of it. From killing Dan Terpin out of spite, brainwashing Superman to be his pawn, saying shit like
“if I’d known one humans death would pain you this much I would have killed more.”
The man just absolutely loved to mess with him for his own sick amusement, not to mention that it was always on sight whenever they laid eyes on one another.
Darkseid can’t die
@@ASS-tb3mq**only his true self
But his avatars can be casually destroyed by an planetary explosion**
I love the Fact that out of all of the Foes in Superman’s Roster of Villains, Darkseid is the Only One that has Kal Full of Hatred and Rage that he might Cross the Line on the God of Evil if he has One Chance.
The casting choice of Ironside for this role as Darkseid was brilliant.
That quagmire's giggity in the end.... Oof ❤️❤️❤️❤️
"demons run when a good man goes to war."
Michael Ironside was perfect for voicing Darkseid
2:52 Idk what it is but Kevin Conroy’s grunt sounds as Batman is so satisfying to me.
1:54,that was pure disrespectful right there😂
Remember when they assume kids were stupid... Still watch this
Was Superman just going to let Orion die? That's pretty fucked up. And it's pretty convenient how he just slides into the boom tube.
He was pretty adamant to finish Darkseid off. He has Super Speed so I imagine his plan was to kill Darkseid, fly off with orion before it blew up
In this scene, I don't think Batman is strong enough to pull Superman through the boom tube, I think he should instead use kryptonite to weaken him and drag his body through it, Orion's body too actually (it seems more logical as the force of the wind should realistically be a big problem for Batman if this isn't the case). It's established in the next two-part episode that Batman always carries kryptonite around with him, so this makes total sense.
1:53 That Darkseid pimp slap shows he meant business
Loser he says while almost knocked out and would’ve probably gotten his ass kicked to near death if Superman stayed
Superman didn't finish the job that's why
@@kingsboro1 i mean that’s why he’s Superman he could do it but doesn’t
@@kankan1083 in this case batman interfered
@@kankan1083 He DAMN well would've if Batman didn't stop him. Darkseid completely ran out his patience.
Superman is savage 0:43
Ever reason to hate Darkseid.
Went from extra serious to “Giggity giggity, giggity goo”
He went serious because he hates Darkseid
We never see darkseid after this, Superman folded him like clean clothes that’ll never be touched again 😭
We didn't see darkseid after this because the explotion killed him. He was actually revived in the justice league finale and he had an awesome rematch with superman ! I recomment you check it out , it is awesome !
Kratos: 1:31
I totally thought Supes was gonna Snap Darlseid's Neck at 1:17 - 1:21.
He was trying to.
@@Steel-101
Impressive Screen Name and Symbol
My favorite exchange between these two.
Darkseid: you really are a glutton for punishment! Time and again I’ve e beaten you, humbled you. What makes you think today’s outcome will be any different?
Because this time I won't stop until you're just a greasy smear on my fist. Let's go.
He beat Darkseid in Superman: The Animated Series. I don't see why this time would be any different.
@@forgottenrights351 because here Superman isn’t weakened by the kryptonite weapons, and is more than willing to kill Darkseid here.
@@michaelnally2841 I was saying that Superman would win this time because he won last time they fought.
Superman wasn't willing to show any mercy he wanted him dead this time and you can't blame him
I think the French version was a way more badass : "I'm gonna hit you so hard that they will have to take your digital prints for recognizing you. Bring it on"
Superman:"any minute now, brainiac will explode. And guess what, you're going with him."
(Superman uses his heat vision to blast Darkseid's tubebox) "no, Darkseid to get off this rock you'll have to go through me."
One of the manliest he says & does in the whole series. That was some real nigga shit.
I think Superman enjoys fighting Darkseid because he doesn’t have to hold back his power he can straight up unleash
This deserves more views, this was epic
1:54 Ok. Now's that's just disrespectful.
Fuck the powers let’s throw hands
Even with his own impending death, Darkseid found some satisfaction in knowing he was able to reduce Superman to acting like a belligerent toddler...
2:10 When I step on a lego
“Huh,
Loser.”
Damn how Darkseid gon talk bout discipline then gone slap my nigga around
Superman started this fight pretty well: landing some solid hits, bobbing and weaving, but then Omega beams
He still won Bro, he couldn't finish Darkseid because of Bats (and well because he would've died in the explotion too).
Darkseid did die or was defeated in this episode but was resurrected by Lex at the end of Unlimited
0:56 When George's Superman channels his inner Sephiroth, everything is about to be shown despair.
When Superman tells you get out of here now you do it don’t argue with him
1:54 BITCH SLAP XD.
2:52 With how angry he was, he could've easily killed Batman here if he didn't hold back
Dcau: Michael Ironside as darkseid
Mcu: Josh brolin as thanos
No seriously they’re both similar
The height of Bat-arrogance. Supes realizes that this is a threat worth sacrificing both his life and ethics to end, which Bats is too selfish to do with his own greatest - but comparatively minor - foe:
This scene was cropped in 4:3 when broadcast, it was produced in 16:9 widescreen.
I won’t stop until your a greasy Smear on my fist sheeeesh!
