Thank you Honda and Kawi for keeping the Supersport class alive. These bikes are men amongst parallel twin boys.
Couldn't agree more!
Amen. And not so many new Japanese options even at 1 litre now...Journos do their best to get excited by parallel twins but let's be honest!
Ktm- huh? Who you calling a boy?.
I'm only joking as I know you said supersport not nakeds
I will never understand why people still think that the ptwin sports bikes were ever intended as replacements for supersports. The supersports were going to die either way, the manufacturers just filled a gap in the lineup by putting plastic on naked bikes they were already building. Funny, I never saw any of you dorks shitting on the Ninja 650 and SV650S 10 years ago.
@@delusion2987 They would complain. 990cc twin in KTM bikes puts it closer to the 999cc of the liter bikes which are way more powerful.
Also, the power delivery is completely different. I think KTM's parallel twins are great, but they are not really a good replacement for an inline 4 for race track duty. A 600cc I4 in terms of peak power will rival or beat that of KTM's 990cc twin for instance.
Twins are best on the road, where their increased torque in the low end is noticeable. I ride a KTM Superduke GT which is a VTwin, but has a similar characteristic. Heck my garage bikes are also a Vtwin and a Thumper so I am a fan of torque. But I4's and Twins just play in different parks.
A better mix is the triple from Triumph (not the new Euro compliant one, but the older one found in their speed triple and daytona 675).
Alot of bike for 10k, should be a winner.
USD price is 13,200 for ABS.
@@viasevenvai Considering how much liter bikes cost nowadays, do we think the manufacturers aren't making money on 600's or are they charging ripoff prices for 1000's? No way a CBR1000RR costs 3 grand more to build than a 600RR
@@patw9175wait you mean the extra “R” they add to the fire blade ain’t worth $30k? You crazy man, you crazy
Here in Australia it costs a couple of grand more than an GSX-R1000, and only $500 less than an R1. The only other 600ish Supersport available new is the Ninja ZX-6R and that's $10,000 cheaper......I get the impression Honda don't want to sell any of them here
Curious to see what package Yamaha puts out in the new R9 due to be launched at the next EICMA 😃💥💯🏁
Damn it's great to see this bike make a return with its under-seat exhaust intact.
Also, your production quality has taken a massive leap forward. The audio and visual quality of this review is next level.
Its Neevsey?? He could voice over a blank screen you'd get everything you need to Know........and only what you need to know!
MCN is becoming surprisingly one of the highest quality channels when it comes to videos production and I absolutely love it.
Thankyou very much :)
In 2010 i paid 8k for a new zx6. So in 2024 this is great value
Yep. Adjusted for inflation 8k then is 11.7k now.
They were £6000 back in 1997 (still got it)@@geoffwatches
If only more ppl thought this
@@geoffwatches Holy shiet^^ Let that sink in
As a happy owner for 9years of a 07 CBR600rr, I am just soo happy to see those supersports again... i know not the most road friendly bikes, but still such great bikes 😍
I had a 2004 600rr, holy smokes that thing was hard to ride. I loved it, but so high strung I never really learned how to ride it because I learned how to ride on big 1000cc bikes (easy to do in the midwest). Also riding twisties in norcal is going much slower than that bike wants and you just can't smoothly modulate speed in 1st gear all day long. I'd love to ride one again, but probably better to go for the aprilia like he said (for normal street driving).
Make 600cc great again...!!
I'm glad to see the 600 sport bikes coming back. I spent the first 3 years after passing my test on a 600 gsxr k4. Terrible first time bike , but i had a great time on it.
I remember George Whites was doing brand new k7 gsxr 600s for 5300 quid. How times have changed.
I only paid 5800 for my brand new 06 gsxr750.... Those were the days
I was offered a brand new Blade in 2011 (dark blue/red/white tri-colour) for 9 grand when they were clearing them for the '12 facelifts...
I got my GSXR 600 K4 new in 2004 and still have it 20 years on , I still love it , off to the TT on it this year
@@loonaticsrunningtheassylum In fairness, 5800 in 2006 is £10500 these days after inflation!
@@chrisgraham6031 It is much real purchasing power hasn't grown much since 2006 in the UK, and for many, purchasing power has decreased since then.
You tell them is the best in class! You’re at the Honda launch and we need people to buy them we don’t want parallel twins :))🔥😂
buy a superbike then
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍💯
@@delusion2987they are for a different market, the people who used to buy 600s are all middle aged and buying other things.
The twins are a different category all together, probably aimed at 1st time riders.
The main reason these haven't sold so well the past 15 years is an aging motorcycle community, there's not much fresh blood to buy these things andits the youth that would want it most.
@@delusion2987 - 90hp isn't bad. Let's be honest anything with around 100hp is already plenty. Some would argue it's overkill even. Seeking more power beyond that point becomes more about wanting something just to have it than any real practical sense for street use.
As a 1 owner, 08 600RR, I’m glad to see the return of the Super Sport.
Great video MCN!
Right on!
This and the FireBlade with the new winglets are absolutely beautiful bikes.
This Motorbike will sell very well. I think I'll get myself a test ride 1 day.
Neeves - If that is what your Mum rides like, then I want to go riding with her! So awesome seeing the CBR-600 again. Love that screaming engine down the straight. I hear what you're saying about the Aprilia, but reliability is key on the street and I keep hearing "stories." Thanks for a great intro.
I really like the impromptu 'interview' on the pit wall. Id recommend doing that again.
CBR600RR 👑👑👑
Kudos for Honda and Kawi for keeping the 600s going with the Firedagger and 636.
This bike looks very nice and I love the underseat exhaust.
The RS660 is also a beautiful bike and it makes more "sense" for a taller person and I would only take it on track twice or thrice a year to be honest.
I would end up preferring the latter.
Been on. Sport Bike for 40 years, I have owned almost every type of motorcycle, at 52 I just purchased a 2023-ZX-10-Double R !!!! Absolutely nothing better than the feeling of an in-line 4-cylinder pulling your body thru the air!!! Ride ZX-10-RR , it’s just perfection!!! Cruise Control also😜
I've owned most superbikes except the Blade, Ducati's or Aprilia RSVs and yes, there's no better feeling. Love them.
the 2nd onboard at 12:56 looks sublime. wow fantastic footage, really makes you feel youre there!
Nice to see MCN back on form in terms of production quality. It was a bit touch and go some years, haven't watched in ages as I haven't owned a bike until recently again. Watching MCN was my childhood, great to see the quality coming out.
Welcome back!
Really hoping this comes Stateside in '25!
It's not
In the states you still have the gsx-r750 and r600 - a few less Rs but what are we? Pirates?
Great bike for the money, sounds awesome. I have to say you've stepped up the quality of videos a notch again, great format a joy to watch.
I like the new style of review...tech speak...a few ride shots...then asking Michael question and having a chat about it....great work....
Glad you enjoyed it!
Its good to see 600s again, I've got a 2005 model CBR600RR I wouldn't swap it for the world, one of best 600s ever made.
Best wishes from NZ, ride safe.....
That sound!!! Great video guys.....
Man, that camera work on the track is excellent!
I hope Honda can cut it at the top again in all classes. Nice the see great championships with all the manufacturers in with a chance of winning
as always....great content mr. neeves
Love the new format and quality of that video! More onboard footage please...fantastic work. Thank you
You got it!
Great review. Appreciate the quick ZX6-R and RS660 comparo too. Beautifully executed lap sections on the onboard shots. Thanks. G.
Glad you liked it!
Neevsey is always showcasing a favorite bike.....on a favorite circuit.....which I suppose is why he my favorite industry expert.....🏁
been watching local racers rip this thing around for a while now here in malaysia, so happy you got to try it!
Really liked the on bike segments! Was great to hear and see exactly as you did. Please add to each video!
Thanks! Will do!
Both the fireblade and 600 onboard camera work looks exceptional.. great work. Excellent review as always.
Many thanks!
Thank You MCN, the video quality is much better & keeping the 600 alive. I’ll be getting 1 for myself ‘when’ it comes to Australia……
That was a really good format for the video, good filming - makes it feel a notch above 👍
Glad you liked it!
Uh-oh, I can feel a test ride comin!
Can't wait to get mine , got deliveres on may
Following a TT legend!
Always loved the CBR and by the looks of it still do, had many test rides over the years but never owned one … at 10k there are so many bikes to choose from ? … great review.. looking forward to the next 👊
Loved it, especially the onboard footage. Glad they haven't changed too much.
Same here!
Sounded awesome… nothing beats the scream of inline 4 supersport
I'm picking mine up in two days, I can't wait.
Great report ❤
Good to see the 600s making a comeback
welcome back my love
Yess!!!! My dream bike has always been the cbr 600rr! And now we finally get a new one! I want one!
I'm super envy with guys that can have this kind of bikes.. For now I have my beloved CBR150r 2023 but I really love to have that 600rr..
Been waiting for this! Definitely picking one up now that I’m old enough that my insurance won’t kill me
One of the most reliable Motorcycles ever made by Honda, that Engine is legendary for reliability and build quality. 👍
these videos are so much better than sitting in front of some mcn logos telling us about a bike whilst some silent shots of bike footage is cut in!
Very nice keep up the good work…🙂
Amazing intro montage, love it. Although have to admit, the color grading and oversharpening at 5:00 makes the footage look like vomit.
Its good to see that Honda and Kawasaki are not letting the 600CCs die out. At least for a sportsbike it makes more sense compared to a litre bike.
Also, that underseat exhaust looks amazing, glad they kind of left it from older models. Lovely looking bike in general.
The colour treatment in this video is beautiful 😊👌🏾
Thanks for noticing
@@motorcyclenewsdotcom the section around 5:00 to 5:13 is pure art (I think) 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
After moving on to a yamaha triple, dang, I miss this screaming sound, sounds amazing
Can't wait to own! This ❤️🔥
Best looking CBR… I’d say, ever!
Happy to see it. I’ve loved the CBR600RR since it dominated the class in 2007-08. In the US we still have the GSX-R600 (and 750) if one wants a truly analog supersport experience. Doesn’t even have ABS. I’m always tempted…
I purchased one in red. I'm 64 and 5'7" ... 😮. Crazy, isn 't it 😆? At my age 😉. Should be delivered somewhere in june ... .
Hey! I’m 67 and thinking about it……..
It just sounds so good
My favorite 600 by far.
I bought a 2008 600RR in 2010 and I absolutely loved it. The only problem was it was tiny and I was 6ft/200lbs so I looked kinda goofy and long distance rides were brutal and those high RPMs were music to my ears but it was still fatiguing. The 1000R was so much more comfortable but not near as nimble as the 600. I would consider myself an expert level rider but I would never be able to ride that bike to it's fullest potential.
The 03-07 model was roomier for some reason.
Nothing beats 4 cylinder screaming sportbike, I love the return of 600's. Liter bikes are getting too much for the street (200hp)
Who ever says "I need less horse power"? I'll take a liter bike any day over a 600cc on the street. I'll take the 600cc to the track.
@@Raiken333A bunch of riders says i dont need more power. Only 1% of riders can truely use the 200hp. And remember about speed limits. 1000 is getting too much for public roads.
@marcinsmolinski903 Speed limits lmao because most 600cc riders are going 100km/hr on a freeway.
@@Raiken333 You see, 600 is plenty enough. Why pay more for 1000 when its power is useless on road.
@@marcinsmolinski903 Do you own or have ever owned a Super Sport bike? 600cc+?
My first big bike just two years ago was a CBR650R and it was a fantastic first big bike!
If I hadn’t moved on last year (Ducati Panigale V2) I would definitely have had a look at the CBR600RR after its little brother!
Looks and sounds amazing but won’t be giving up the V2 for one now.
We want this bike in North America ❤
Sadly the climate change hypocrites wont let that happen.
Fr
Saddly the climate nut jobs won't let that happen.
TH-cam keeps deleting my comment! Hahaha climate Nazis hard at work censoring.
Hahaha got my comment deleted by TH-cam 3 times. Guess you can't mention the clim@t3 lunatics.
Beautiful video. Long live the inline 4!
This bike looks amazing, I think I'll get one soon!!!!
How many times you put the glasses on 😅. Great review💯
Glorious noise 😍
So popular in Australia??? I beg the differ. With a 29.000aud rice tag, i have never ever seen one on any dealer's floor in Sydney and in person. It's a crime.
Shouts from Aotearoa New Zealand. Great review. Too small for me. Ka pai.
Uesh baby keep those 600s poppin
That's a nice looking bike !!!
Yepp I’m in love with
Didn’t think I’d fit a sports bike anymore, may try a re-fit for this!
Great lookin machines! If I could justify a sport bike in the garage I’d love it!
What a great looking bike this is
Remember picking my rr up in 2003 march 26th there was 100 in the uk number Cx03rcv best I’ve owned went to Spain on it went to assen & Germany on it loved
I’ve grown up now I own v-strom 800 DE love that as well
Very nice!
Great looking bike. I’m sold! I wish the R7 had an inline 4. Or that Yamaha bought the R6 back for the road.
Interesting, I've got the new ZX6R, I do agree it is cramped and short geared. Looking forward to finishing the run in to have a proper bit of fun on it. My mate has the new CBR on order so looking forward to comparing them.
01-04 f4i still bae but love to see this, looks gorgeous in black at the dealership. Let's see more love for the inline 4.
I'm still riding my red/black '01 F4i with #17 Miguel Duhamel livery that I bought new. Bike just feels "right" when I ride it. Such a classic bike, I'll never sell it!
Correct me if I'm wrong, the engine isessentially the same as the 08 with hrc heads/kit standard now?
When are they coming to the UK, I went to a dealership last week and still not available
So happy the bikes are still going. Love the 600cc ss bikes. They are amazing bikes. Maybe time to trade my street triple rs for one of these…
Thought the interaction between neevsey and other fella was great.
I'd choose the Honda 10/10 times over the Aprilia rs660, especially for track duty.
How did the throttle feel now that its electric compared to the older analog 600RRs? I race a 2011 and one of the things I'm looking forward to seeing this in the States is a lighter throttle twist. Hopeful that it'll help me with a lighter grip and change up my hand angles when I need to.
Thanks Honda I'll definitely be buying one
Stupid question: does the under tail exhaust roast the backside?
Wish they would come back to canada, I'd buy one in a heart beat!
I’ve spent the last few months trying to decide on the best replacement for my 2015 Suzuki GSXR750 and I’ve been eagerly awaiting the launch of the new CBR600RR
I’m not looking to do track days (yet) and I’m certainly not looking to hit silly speeds on the roads! She will very much be my garage queen, only coming out on sunny days for a few hours or country roads and scenic rides.
I whittled the list down to the following…..
Dream bike: 2021 Ducati Panigale V2
Or
Realistic choice: 2024 Honda CBR600RR
What would your thoughts be comparing these bikes??
Also. Do you think Honda will offer a performance exhaust option when it comes to spec’ing a new CBR??
NEC Birmingham 2023, CBR 600RR and Kawasaki ZX6R(and panigale) were the most sexy bike there. Absolutely perfect bikes. Kawasaki should prepare sport naked with ZX6R engine below 200kg wet and good suspension.
I still cant get over it that North America is not getting that model. They continue selling the 2023 model and still no news about the oversea model.
Tempting...very tempting...im lucky enough to have an r nine t for fun....a daytona 675r for being silly and a forza 300 for when its wet....would you chop in the dyonta for one of these?
Finally the comeback! The original usually never won the group reviews but everyone said it was so balanced(plus economic).
I wish GSXR brought the 750 back... My best loving bike to date.
Any news on price and availability?
I got it thanks!
Yeah, 600s RULE!
I love reving inline fours
zx6r is the best 600 of all time.. i remember in 1985 riding one, and OMG the power and speed was unbelievable for the day..
Elle n’a même pas le shifter down et elle est beaucoup moins belle
Where i live R6 race costs 165k, zx6r 240k and cbr600rr cost 225k (around 16k gbp). Gotta love overpaying for everything
Current best looking 600 bike
"The blade with all the Rs" is such a great way to describe the new Fireblade's name lmao
Best looking 600 currently imo
