You mentioned more recognizable flagship brands like Apple, Samsung and I think brands like Huawei and Sony are also there but 1+ is above Google and LG to me at this point. 1+ may not have the sales, but them finally putting the phone in stores I feel was a big step forward to making a splash in the Western market. The creation of the Nord also gives the brand a mid-tier phone which further pushes the 1+8 line as their flagship product and not a "tweener".
I wish there was a 16:9-ish mid to high end phone. I have no love for these TV-remote looking phones. Or maybe extend the bezels on either end and add front facing stereo speakers.

I have a Nord and I actually really enjoy it. I actually am not bothered too much by the extra cameras that it has, in fact I dont notice it at all in my daily use.
In India, there are 4 kind of mobile shoppers: 1. Who wants just the bare bone smartphone, so will get one for less than ₹10k. 2. Wants a decent one without shelling Their whole month's salary, will get one for about ₹15k. 3. Flagship lovers who can afford anything, will buy ₹60k-₹100k flagship from Their favorite brand. 4. The most tech-concious (edit: also value minded) People who prefer flagship grade specs for a cheaper price with many compromises compared to a true flagship, will buy SD 800 series device for ₹20k-₹30k (true flagship killers). Where is Nord's place? 1. It isn't cheap for ₹10k buy. 2. Specs are like a sub ₹20k device but costs ₹25k+. 3. Isn't a flagship. 4. Doesn't have SD 800 series to justify ₹25k. Only OP Fanboys who can't afford OP flagships will want to buy Nord.

This was by far the best review of One Plus NORD I have seen, love the details you have pointed out and I am thoroughly impressed. The price in my country India is pretty cheap since it's manufactured here in India. The price for 12 GB/128 GB NORD is 30000 INR, that's exactly 400 USD. For the price range and it's features I believe it's quite a steal.

OnePlus X was much better than this because they actually used a last year flagship chip inside. I had one and it still works as far as basic streaming WhatsApp etc. is concerned.

My mom’s Nord OnePlus30 is now having internet connection issues that not even my service provider can fix. I have to call the main Nord company to resolve the issue.
I'm using the nord for over a month now, and believe me, I loved it. Yes, the camera is not flagship quality, but decent enough. The oxygen OS and SD765 gives a smooth performance with almost no bugs. The display is so damn good! The design is simple, but the look is amazing with that blue marble color. If you want a OnePlus under $400, then don't have second thought. Go for it!

This was by far the best review of One Plus NORD I have seen, love the details you have pointed out and I am thoroughly impressed. The price in my country India is pretty cheap since it's manufactured here in India. The price for 12 GB/128 GB NORD is 30000 INR, that's exactly 400 USD. For the price range and it's features I believe it's quite a steal.

I had one, it was the best mid-range phone from OP at that time before Pocophone came IMO.
The x was good for the price but dear god the flaws were bad, the camera was terrible and there was another big problem I can't remember but it irritated me I can tell you that, it has been like 5 years since I had it though
OnePlus X was much better than this because they actually used a last year flagship chip inside. I had one and it still works as far as basic streaming WhatsApp etc. is concerned.

I'm using the nord for over a month now, and believe me, I loved it. Yes, the camera is not flagship quality, but decent enough. The oxygen OS and SD765 gives a smooth performance with almost no bugs. The display is so damn good! The design is simple, but the look is amazing with that blue marble color. If you want a OnePlus under $400, then don't have second thought. Go for it!

The Truth = It's a great mid-tier range phone for the price but everyone feels underwhelmed by it due to the aggressive marketing and hype surrounding it which is why people call it overhyped.

Well, I got this same phone, it's the highest end phone I have ever had, I am definetively happy with it and, I accept and agree with everything you mention. I would have liked nicer specs, or a speaker not at the bottom, but it honestly feels like it works fine, so I am happy to use this phone for the next 4, 5 or even 6 years,... If it survives ^^;
