Good job man! They just don't understand the tech world. They're coming more from traditional businesses and don't get the "trickle down" effect. Just imagine AI using Remotion to generate content on the fly... I personally feel you guys are undervalued. You are (kind of) competing with Adobe and some company like that will acquire you for much more.
I just wish, I had gone with you guys in this pitch, I would have made them understand end to end what you guys do, I have used remotion a lot and can think of 1000 possible use cases. For starters the biggest use case is in health tech industry, where each person gets a personalised video of their blood tests in their own language which nakes it easier for them to understand. And also it’s a recurring revenue stream.
It was a really entertaining video to watch, because it clearly shows the disconnect between tech ways of thinking, and business way of thinking 🤣 You were basically mostly giving them a feature roadmap, but they wanted to hear perspectives and what's to gain for the clients, and who could be the clients. But I guess this mostly has to do with the fact that, as you said, you sadly didn't have time to prepare for it 😅 When it comes to investors in general I think there are other things you could mention : - The importance of video content in our everyday life, maybe you'll find statistics related to the difference of statistics of engagement between video and text, and how companies in general use that to generate more revenue. - The cost saving the automation generates for a potential client company if they were to use other ways to generate the videos and pay a developer to implement the automation for them, or use editors to make them. I think that's the kind of things investors would understand better to figure out if they think there is a market or not for this.
Good job going on TV and the work done. I think the product is solid. But it appears both of you are tech folks. You need to get some sales folks; or business folks in. You'll be surprised by the difference in how the two spectrums look at things.
That being said, prospective customer here! Been following the product and almost ready to give it a try in our app. That #wrapped period will find me ready
I’m not sure if you can legally say this so it’d be good to double check but you should say “it allows companies to create their own Spotify wrapped”. Something that’s already mass market that likely a lot of people have already experienced.
Yes we kind of did that, we pitched SoundCloud's Artist Year in Review campaign! We also showed a screenshot of it on a display, you could not see that in the show unfortunately
I feel this so hard "I dont want to make predictions of how the business is doing in 2 years". Of course you could make a prediction if you got no investors and just keep providing the packages, but the goal is to build a GUI to make it easy for non-tech people to use your product, and then you would have a completely different main income for your business which is impossible to calculate but yeah, tech-people want to make the best product, business people want to make the most money. sad but true
Yes! Well the sharks had a bad chance of understanding it, so they need to go by the ordinary metrics and use multiples to determine if it’s worth it Probably not a fit then, but by pitching on the show we got the attention of some more better fitting investors now!
Love you Jonny. I kinda agree that half a cent per video is too little. You should charge more and make it per minute or per frame or even per pixel basis.
people comminucate with each other based on the shared values. for investers it would be much better for u to show some bussiness cases and statistics which directly address the potantial gain from ur product. i have some great ideas with ur product so we can create some use cases if u interested please lemme know.
Yes we thought of it! Actually the lions also asked about it (it did not make it into the show). Probably a better fit. But we had the chance to pitch on TV and we wanted to take it!
You guys will make way more than that was offered, your library is amazing. . .

congrats guys, excited to watch remotion keep thriving.
Jungs, ihr habt ein geiles Produkt. Hört bitte nie auf damit!
Loved every moment of it! There's billion-dollar potential in there for sure. Well done!
Facebook would eventually acquire remotion for 100M

Try something bigger - who knows the remotion and power of videos. possibilities are endless with remotion 🎉

@@JonnyBurger good luck on your way :)
you guys keeping your business in swizerland is really challenging thing, if I was you I would transfer it to Dubai or Singapor
True!
We like Switzerland though 🥺

AWS would charge $0.000000004 per pixel-hours 😂
Damn React made it to Dragons Den lol this is awesome
Here from React India 🎉

Very interesting to hear your perspective and the behind-the-scenes stuff. n1
I'm sure you have thought of this but wouldn't a silicon valley vc be better for this

After dabbling with programming I was unsure that it still had a use... I still don't think so LOL
Guys, sorry for my french, but these are shit investors tbh. Raise in the US where investors are real and can bring value.
