- Episode 88
We are back! It has been a rough few months around here and we apologize for being away for so long. This video explains everything that has been happening. I was in an accident with one of the horses (by no fault of their own) and needed to take some time to recover from a concussion. Doctors orders were to limit or avoid screen time so that has been why there has been no posts on any of our platforms. I want to say thank you to everyone that has sent emails, messages, etc. to check to see how we are. WE truly appreciate your support and prayers! AND...with all that bad that happened there is good news!
Before my accident, we were able to rescue another horse! Back a few months ago there was a group of Belgians that came into Bowie Texas Livestock and one mare was still there that did not get rescued. We ended up rescuing her the day before my accident and I wasn't able to get the announcement out. All the details on her rescue are included in this video.
All the other horses are doing well! We have changed up how we feed all the horses and that is also explained in this video.
We are glad to be back and can't wait to bring you more update videos!
As mentioned in this video, we needed to cover the costs of the new horse we rescued. With the accident, I was unable to post the details of the fundraiser. If you would like to help support the rescue to cover the cost of the supplies we needed, the fundraiser can be found at the below link.

As a growing horse rescue group, we rely on monetary donations to keep the organization moving forward. The Big Hoof Foundation will always be transparent with how your donations are used. 100% of the money we raise goes directly to the rescued horses' bail fees, transport, feed, hay, medical bills, medications, alternative medical treatments, supplements, surgeries, etc. Every dollar raised is for the horses!
Our ability to help these horses is only because of the generous donations from our subscribers and followers! Please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Big Hoof Foundation to help us save more of these precious lives from shipping to slaughter and provide them with the care they deserve. Thank you everyone for your continued support in saving these gentle giants! We could not be saving these lives without you!

You guys are wonderful humans! I'm so sorry for your heartache. Sending lots of love and positive thoughts your way! Take care of yourself, too! ❤
Another name for concussion is Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and they are no joke! I got one 15 years ago, when my car was T-boned by a bus. It’s very important to listen to your body! If you are tired, it’s important to rest/sleep! I know it’s hard to just stop when there is work to do, but it’s paramount to your recovery to listen to what your brain and body are telling you. Praying for your full recovery!
And, get this, you have to rest your brain after such an injury. It must be difficult!
Agree! That also happened to a friend of mine. She was hit by a truck while walking across the street! It's a miracle she's alive & yeah, it took at least a year for her to recover.
OMGOSH😢 everyone w/a TBI, I'm so sorry. I had a small concussion when I was a teen, they called it a "meer' concussion. I experienced some dizziness, lightheadedness, nauseous, sleepy, fatigued & I was scared. That was one heck of a wack to Ur head to be knocked out, very scarey. Thank God for cell phones & that U weren't all alone at the time Julie. I know U will keep Ur distance from now on when Ur close by Ur animals, including being near the goats too 🐐🐐 Love Ur farm & all Ur animals & I still think of Lucky from time to time. He sure was a special horse & he sure loved U Julie. I'm real happy about that. I'm keeping Ur farm, all Ur animals & all of U folks in my daily prayers & thank U so much for showing us the beautiful videos ❤ God Bless 🙌 U All Forevermore 🙏🤲 🕊✝️😇❤🐎🐴💙
You felt you need to say that. Why? I believe she has been told every thing by her doctors!!! This is about Julie not you
@@tiggragg2749 Understand that U seriously need to get some courtesy for Urself. Shame on U.!
Have retired horses is a mixed blessing. You improve their lives dramatically to see them have the happiest ending possible. God bless and stay well.
Thank you!
BITTERSWEET.
Hello Julie- thank you for inviting us into your life of rescuing Belgian Draft horses and YOUR life, including your very dangerous head injury. It's a lot to share and we are so glad you are improving. The road to health is a slow process - please continue to take care of yourself as well as the lucky horses who come under the care of Fletcher Farms Amarillo. Of course we continue to watch.
Was in tears watching your accident and hearing about your health the past few months. Rest up and don’t push yourself too hard ~ your body needs a lot of time to recover. So happy to have you back and have the update on these precious horses. I’m so sorry about your two losses ~ Charlie and Amelia were so blessed to spend their time on the farm with you. You are a blessing to all the animals you have rescued. Blessings and prayers.
Thank you!
I’m so happy to see you are back. So sorry about your accident and I hope you will be better soon. Take it as easy as you can. I hope you will get some volunteers in to help out.
Also sorry about the two losses. So sad. 😢 I hope Eva will fit in soon and that you’re able to have her eyes taken care of.
I would like to mail a small donation is there an address that I can use. God bless you for what you are doing. Xoxo. Lois
So happy to have you back. Missed You.
Sorry for your loss.
RIP Charlie and Amelia.😢
Thank you
They could have donated the dead horses to Buzzards, who need nutrition to survive in the wild
So happy you are back and feeling better. We missed you!
So glad your injuries weren’t worse and that your on the recovery road. Your new system of feeding seems more efficient and the horses are still thriving so good choice. Sorry for your loss of Charlie and the lady. Take care.
What a horrible accident Julie - I'm glad to see that you are looking well.
Sorry to hear that you have lost two beautiful horses.
You're doing great work, thanks for the update 😊🐎😮
It is so good to see you again, Julie. Together with your wonderful horses.
Thank God you are doing better Julie🙏. Missed all of your Herd. So sad about Charlie and Amelia🥲. Thank You for giving them Such a beautiful Retirement and the Love these Amazing Animals deserve.
YOU always must come first while you heal! It takes as long as it takes! We are here supporting you and loving your channel!
Apologies are NOT needed. SO glad you're on the mend. Everyone looks really good. Grace looks like a poster horse for rehab successes! Keep up the excellent work you're doing & again I'm so glad you're doing better! God bless you all.
So sorry about your accident. God bless you and all at Fletcher Farms.💜😊💜
I'm so happy that you're making a recovery, we need you to keep saving horses!❤ it's clear that they love you, they were all watching when you fainted! May the LORD bless and keep you 🙏
I have wondered and missed you. Belgians have a big spot in my heart. And so do you and your ranch.

🦋
I was missing you and praying for you. I’m so sorry for the loss of Charlie and Amelia, I pray their memory will bring you comfort. I also pray for continued recovery from your head injury. That can take a good long recover from, so please listen to your body and rest when you need to rest.
Grace is Lovely. . . Will looked like a Thoroughbred from a distance!!!
I love seeing the horses, but your health is more important than my peek into how things are going there. Please take care of yourself.
So glad you're back. We've missed you and the babies ❣❣❣❣
Soooooo happy you’re back, we were so worried! Glad you’ve made a full recovery from your accident and so sorry for the recent loss of Charlie Waffles and Amelia, they were so lucky to have lived out their days with you and so much love!❤
OMG!!!! You are proving to be very strong woman. Here is hoping you and family will get better quickly. Ava is beautiful but cantankerous.
God's speed in your healing process! Very Happy to have you back
Great to see you back, get well soon. My sympathies for Charlie and Amelia 😢❤
Thank you!
I am so glad to see that you're on the mend Julie! Take all the time you need to recover, we'll be here 💗Rest gently Charlie and Amelia, you'll be missed.x
I am so sorry for the loss of two of your draft horses. I hope your health is feeling better and I hope all the horses and donkeys at the shelter are doing good.❤
Glad to see you back and apparently healed.😊
Wishing you a total recovery soon. We are here whenever you feel like posting videos again. Sorry for your losses.
OMG!!!! Prayers for continued healing.
Oh Julie, I’m so sorry about how poorly you’ve been. Bless your heart. I’m so relieved to see you are back and recovering. I was so worried about what may have happened and why you guys were so quiet. Thank goodness you are ok.
Sending love and healing your way sweet lady. 🙏🏻🫶🏻
While I too am heartbroken over the passing of Charlie & Amelia, I am at a loss to think of a nicer way to leave this earth than to lie down in a place where you feel loved & peaceful and drift off. You & Corey provide such a place to all of your animals. Thank you for that! I'm glad you're pursuing patreon funding or anything where we can do an automatic monthly deposit to help the farm. And I'm grateful you are doing better, but brain injuries can't be rushed - so please be kind to yourself : not sure how many emergency calls Corey can tolerate! So welcome back FFA be you 2 or 4 legged. I, and many others missed you and are relieved to see you all again.
You do a tremendous job! When your channel went dark, prayers were sent up as we felt the only thing that would keep you from posting was either something traumatic with you or a family member.
We will always be here for you, taking a break while you heal just makes us respect all that you do even more!
Hopefully someone reads these comments to you and you aren't looking at a screen!
Blessings and prayers for a full recovery.
Charlie and Amelia were like family I am sure. And their loss I am quite sure was very emotional. How could it not have been? You are doing God‘s work. The horses are in there forever homes. Take care of you.
Thank you!
I hope you have no lasting side-effects, and heal completely. Belgians are huge, and can hurt you without meaning to. All the horses look great, Ava is a beauty! So sorry two are gone, but their last years were happy. I only hope I can say that at my end.
Sorry to hear about your accident but glad to hear that you are making a good recovery! All the horses are looking fabulous, glad you are back!x
So glad to see you back, keep looking after yourself please! I'm so sorry about Charlie and Amelia but so grateful they had a chance to be in such a loving, happy environment in their last years.
So glad you are okay and glad to see you back! So sorry about Charlie and Amelia, but you gave them happy last days and that's what matters!
Thank you!
Take good care of yourself. I hope your injury is mending well and YOU'RE GOOD AS NEW. Looks like the pasture is green ~ must be all that rain in TX. God bless you and the farm.

I had TBI 30 years ago from a car accident. I still have migraines, sleep problems. Luckily no longer have blackouts.
I was impressed by your dogs reaction to your blackout.
My last blackout was at the bottom of the stairs. My 3 Velcro dogs climbed over me to run around the yard. No Lassie in my house.
Wishing you a full recovery
