It's not a hard bike to ride, it takes some rev's to feel the true power, just ride safe and enjoy! =)

@@Darkvisor thanks bud. I think I’ll take a while to fall in love with it. I’m coming from a Street Triple R which doesn’t have anything like the power of the ZZR but is dramatic and lively from the get go. I think the ZZR will suit me better overall though 👍

I think Kawasaki has the mapping down low a bit soft to prevent squids from killing themselves coming off the line. If you get the little black box flashed by Moore Mafia or similar tuner, look out.

No cruise control but better for it ,having throttle cables not ride by wire gives a much better feel on a gen1 with no traction control etc

How did I miss this one??????????????? Best Bike EVER. A derestricted tuned Generation One is actually quicker than a similarly tuned Generation 2, and both a standard and derestricted ZZR 1400 are quicker even than my genuine Pop Yoshimura Gen 2 Hyabusa and a standard Gen 1 & 2 Busa! The hype disappears when you own them and can genuinely compare. Reminds me to ignore ALL tests except Dark Visor.

Unfortunately I've owned a 2010 zzr 1400 for 2 months. Full Kawasaki service history. 44000 on clock . Just had new rear bairing . New fuel pump . Both calipers needed replacing . Fractured front disc both needed replacing . Oh and it had a new rear shock fitted when I bought it from j and l motorcycles Carlisle . Build quality is amazing on them .

Stock pipes sound shit,,, literally thought bike had stopped running at first road junction, it was that quiet.... Fitted a pair of Yoshimura cans,,, very happy chappie now. 👍😎
Most stock pipes sounds very boring yeah.

I'm 6 ft tall and 13 stone, and when I test rode the busa it felt cramped, and my knees felt like they were around my ears. The ZZR1400 feels larger and more refined, but equally powerful, so I bought one. I once read someone describe riding the ZZR as "like taking a grizzly bear for a walk"... Never walked a grizzly, but it somehow seems apt. :)
Own a 2012 gen2 14,, its Comfortable,, its Fast,,, its Comfortable and Fast,,, its Comfortable and Very Fast,, its Comfortable and Very Very Fast,,,, it's got me 9 points on my license,,,, it's now in LOW POWER MODE lol.
Bloody Awesome bike.
Save up your beer money and buy yourself one... it will last longer than beer.

9 points lol, sorry to hear that but I can't blame you. I sold my MT10 because I was either going to end up in valhalla or in jail... impossible to not ride "properly"
unfortunaly for me, bikes like this one (hayabusa, ZX14 etc) is that I can't stand the riding position. to be, it feels so uncomfortable.
I'm more of a cruiser / adventure bike riding position person =)

How good is the comfort for half a day in the saddle for a 6 foot guy? Is this the model with Brembo brakes and Ohlins rear shock?
Comfort should be good. It's a sport tourer so It's meant to be riding for full days.

@@Darkvisor Hi thanks for update. I was wavering between either the ZX 14R or the Triumph Rocket X. I am looking for a relaxed cruise and not a track day junkie or high speed junkie. Mostly road riding, how would you compare the two since you have ridden both the Rocket and the ZX 14R two of the biggest, baddest, meanest bikes. My issue can’t afford to buy both. Thanks for the videos they are great and give practical insights. Cheers.

Wierd seeing your own bike like this. It's true the power is somewhat "relaxed" in the lower rpms. I'm actually planning on flashing the ECU to remove some restrictions next season. After that the bike will punch your stomach from the go :D
