@@VladInc frankly speaking you should have gotten more support but no worries many generations will come and see these informative tutorials, plz if you have time to do analysis of shear wall subjected to cyclic loading it would be very very great,,
Thank you very much Please can you do for a steel structure (Portal frame) and can you give us the material property for steel as you did for concrete?
Hello Vlad Inc, I would like to ask you a question. Why do you use Merge Instances in the first model for combining steel and and concrete instead of Embedded Region? Is there any difference between Merge instance and Embedded region? Hope to hear from you. Thank you
Hi, thanks for showing us this example, it was really helpful.. I would like to know which model you use to predict the stress-strain relationship of concrete.. Thanks a lot.
Great video. I think you could've assigned the reinforcement section as truss rather than beam because they act as uni-axial elements. Perhaps that would've saved some time in computation. I wonder how much time it took for the analysis and if you could have modelled the concrete as planar to reduce the computational time.
Sir have you any knowledge about how to provide slip property between steel reinforcement and concrete beam. Because no reinforcement is completely embedded.
Hi Bugsy Thank you for your very helpful you tube. If you can help me in same example but under concentrated load. And how to find the ultimate failure load and the relation between load and displacement.
Dear sir,Thank you very much for video.can you please upload a video on prestressed concrete beamsor comment steps how to apply prestress in rebars of the above explained problem? thanks for your comment
Dear Sir, thank you so much for this video i have modeled an RC beam with simply supported boundary conditions and used concrete damaged plasticity model to account for the nonlinearities in concrete, i have got the frequency value using a frequency step for the case of beam under its own weight only and it was good, but i want to add loads to get values of frequencies for different load cases. i have used a static general step to define the added load, knowing that this step is before the frequency step, but the results of frequency is the same as the case in the beam under its own weight! my question is how to extract frequencies according to the effect of "static" load ? i need your help please

Hi Sir, Thank you for your video. I have a question regarding the rebars as solids. 1. Why did you mesh the beams and rebars manually? 2. If I still use the rebars as solids, should I use embedded regions as well? Thank you for your video!
When it comes to the merging mesh part, the error ''Warning: Merging contents of the sets having same name in selected instanced, this may result in merging of respective section assignments, appears. Could you possibly help with this

Thank you so much for you sharing. However, How can we plot the Force and Displacement Curve? And which node or element is chosen to capture force and displacement? Thank in advance
you plot the displacement vs time and you have to know how you defined the force in time. you can choose any node you like and you get the displacement for that node
You can do that too. Test it and see the difference. In general, you should always test it and see the difference, and have in mind the physical meaning of each scenario
Hi Vlad! Nice video! A quick question: what is the instance --> merge/cut operation doing? I think it always results in a merged instance with only one material (steel OR concrete, not Reinforced Concrete). What am I doing wrong? I tried your way or selecting (i.e., I started by selecting steel). I also tried selecting by instance name. No success.
Hello there, it is an excellent tutorial, Thank you very much. 1) Why did you made a whole lot of partition to have green color ? why it is so much necessary to have hex elements ? 2) do those partition make any kind of difference in the analysis ? 3) why is the color changing by making those partition in the first place ? Plz do reply sir...
The green coloration shows that those parts can now be meshed using structured meshing technique. Structured meshing is very helpful because the part gets divided into a definite number of elements thus making it easier for the user to extract any kind of data from those elements

Hi, your tutorial is great. Thanks a lot, man. Have a question about the material definition. In CDP plasticity definition, why you just input the one row of yield stress and inelastic strain as 0. I lost at this part. In my understanding, the inelastic strain = real plastic strain - elastic strain. While the yield stress remains the same at the plateau, the strain keeps going, so there should be some subsequent values after the first row. Would you please explain to me? Much appreciated. Very very excellent videos, subscribed and thumb up. Hope to see more coming!
Phil thank you. it's been a while, bit if you define only one row and you specify inelastic strain as zero in that point, it means linear elastic until that point and infinite yielding plateau afterwards. if i didn't answer your question, please leave a video time frame and I will take a look when i get the chance

When i merge the beam with the reinforcing bars thus creating a single element, the material of the element is concrete or steel depending on witch instances i have selected first. How can i solve this problem?
Maybe its little bit late, but I found the solution to this problem. You created a Set-1 before, when you did the Section Assignment and you have to delete those Section assignments for each part and deleted the Set-1, and then create a new one, but you HAVE TO UN-CHECK the "Crate a New Set" on the bottom when using the Section Assignment. Then you can continue with the tutorial and your materials will be preserved.

Vlad Inc. thanks. But in my model for a column made up with grade M20. But for the same column I am providing a jacket with M25 grade concrete to improve its strength and behaviour. So how to differentiate between M20 and M25?
I did not say anything about M, I said C20/25. There are all kind of different ways to express the strength of the concrete, that are used around the World. Most important is to understand the assumptions that you make. This video shows just a calculation procedure. It does not show by any means some approved values for strength and behavior of concrete
