    Hi Dr. Wagner,
    Thank you for detail explanation. I see you have been using compression damage data including damage. Whereas for tension, only Concrete Tension Stiffening data has been used.
    1. May I ask, why you haven't used tension damage data similarly as compression, such as inelastic or plastic strain, tension damage?
    2. What is the meaning of the value *Concrete Tension Stiffening - 2.842, 0?
    3. What is the reason for highlighting your data with red colour (at 6.47 min)?
    Thank you.

    • @hnrwagner
      @hnrwagner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1. Easy answer, I forgot :) to use tension data
      2. Its "yield stress" equivalent and plastic strain zero
      3. The red data was a reminder for me that the data points are extrapolated from the other data

      @@hnrwagner thanks! But I was wondering if one point would actually be close to the real life testing. Generally the force transducer is at the top and accounts for the overall area of the applied load. Would love to hear your opinion.

      @@SamFred93 i think for a real approximation of the loading , both points are required to be evaluated. I have done ît a few times for 4pb of composite frames and there we use the sum of the reation forces from both reference points and it was very close to the test result. i am not sure about the procedure on concrete though.

    Finally, for the force you meant reaction force right? Since as far as I understand the force is gradually increasing I did not get it since you used displacement. Also, when should we use dynamic explicit? Here, we could not use static general?
    P.S. Regarding boundary conditions you used -10 mm for u2 and amplitude which means that for example we have 0.01*10 mm at 0.01 second and 0.02*100 mm at 0.02 second and etc. right?

    • @hnrwagner
      @hnrwagner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      element deletion works only in dynamic explicit. not in static general.
      The scale of the displacement should (according to my understanding be)
      at time 0.01 - displacement 0.01*10 mm
      at time 0.02 - displacement 0.02*10 mm
      and so on

    Also, the imperfection you did it later right? It was not in the initial model I think? You did the same procedure but with imperfection, right? So, when we want to simulate experiment in abaqus how can we recognize the defects? I mean if they are in micro scales we might neglect it (If we want to simulate macro-scale). If they are visible then how can we measure imperfections?

    • @hnrwagner
      @hnrwagner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the imperfection was added because I thought it would lead to a similar failure mode as in the test. I think the imperfections are important for crack propagation, dont know for sure though. I worked most of the time with thin-walled shell were material failure is not relevant.
      Imperfections are usally measured with optical measurement systems like ARAMIS (at least for shells)
