i got mine 2 days ago, and man, what a difference to the previous wheel i had. granted i started with a "budget" setup for wheel, pedals, and DD, but, i wasnt sure if i was going to be racing for this many hours when i ordered them back in december. Now, your review hits the nail on the head to be fair. and although i still need to really get used to it, im loving it already. as for the price, i would say look at it this way: why buy 3,4 or even 5 wheels before you buy this one? the combined privces of wheel 2-3-4 and 5 will have coseted way more than just making this onew purchase. like you said: its not cheap when you buy it, but it is cheaper in the end. lets hope that in about 5-10 years we wil stil be racing around with the hyper :D
Congrats on getting your wheel and hope you enjoy it. I’ve always been told buy right or buy twice and I ended up buying twice to get the perfect wheel for myself. After visiting the GSI HQ a couple of days ago I know they put love into everything.
got my GSI FPE V1 six months ago this was one of the finest sim equipment decisions ever I now have the FPE V2 coming next week and the right wheel will make you faster the wheel is the most important cause your feel for the car comes from your hands and good feel breeds consistency
Great concise video and congrats on the wheel! I’m half-heartedly thinking about the Hyper-SL myself. I know AMS2 isn’t your primary thing, but if you do happen to own it and ever give it a whirl with the Hyper, could you report back somehow whether or not all of the Hyper’s inputs were recognized? Even if it’s it’s just something like “seemed fine” or “coudn’t get some to be recognized” it would helpful to the AMS2 crowd. That title is hit and and miss regarding how many inputs it seems capable of seeing from any given USB device.
Thanks for watching the video. I haven’t tried AMS2 but I should give it a shot. I’ve only driven iRacing, ACC, AC and Raceroom. Also, I can check with some people on the discord.
I ended up speaking with Dan Suzuki himself on the discord and this is what he said "All simos devices work perfectly fine with ams2 🙂 Ams2 doesn’t like multiple interface usb descriptors (fpe/gxl v1 used that and can take some trickery to make it work on ams2) - but we resolved all those issues on the simos implementation"
I was thinking of getting the FPE V2, but after this review, I want the Hyper P1. I currently have the Cube Controls CSX-3 and find the grips perfect for my hand-size-XL racing gloves. Does the Hyper P1 feel as good? You mentioned you had the CSX-2. I just put up my Cube Controls F-Pro and Asher B24L for sale to help with the purchase. Wish me luck!
I found the Hyper P1 handles to be much more comfortable and the shifters are in a better position. The CSX-3 is nice but the FPE V2 and P1 are a step above IMHO you won’t be dissatisfied. You have some nice wheels man good luck with the sale. Where do you have them posted?
@@steezyisgaming I posted the wheels on Marketplace, local area - greater Toronto area. Sold the Ascher today. Hopefully the F-Pro will go quick too. Yeah, the P1 is in my future. lol
Loved the video you’ve put me back on the fence again now between P1 and the Omega Pro (BavarianSimTec Omega Pro Wheel) Speak of did you ever consider that wheel?
Thank you! I did look at the Bavarian wheel and watched a couple videos and landed on the GSI. I’m a sucker for the features the GSI wheel has. I made a follow up video showing how the LED buttons act as flags and the build quality is top notch.
I am ordering this wheel but I think I will order the 6 paddle version because I am thinking I can use them to look left/right. I'll be using the Samsung 57" Neo G9 rather than a triple monitor setup so if I can just quickly pull those switches should work well. What do you think? This is my first sim rig and I have no idea what I am doing.
I have one and it’s great, I had the FPE V1 and waited patiently until Black Friday when they had a 15% discount. Still cost a lot but made it a little less. Also, you may not need their hub and can save some money on that. I use mine on a Simucube base with it mounted directly using only the Simucube wheel side adapter. Not the easiest for swapping wheels but it is a very stable connection with zero movement or play whatsoever.
I know I should have purchased it on BF but I was undecided if I wanted to go with another wheel so I missed out on the 15% off. If I could go back I would have done this entire process differently.
$175...for printed-on button labels?!?!?!😲😱😱😱 I think I may have preferred removable stickers at no cost.🤔 Awesome review, man. I won't be upgrading anytime soon (at least to something at this price point), but it's always good seeing the best of the best tech that is available.👍
I’m gonna have to agree with you I prefer removable stickers so I can change button placement as I please. Nobody really brought that up in the reviews I’ve seen so I wanted to mention that. I do still love the wheel it features and functionality are so good.
I subscribed and liked 👍 looking forward to seeing more content! But man, the wheel looks heavy and is super expensive, but of course you are getting one for the long term. That is until….. the next hottest wheel comes out 😅 I agree with the screen being on the wheel. Having a separate DDU just loses the immersion and seems too disconnected. Also it’s less clutter on the rig
So i am now between the Hyper P1 and the FPE V2. I see you got the CSL DD. What is the driving like with such a heavy wheel on it? I was thinking of upgrading the wheel base and the wheel tbh in order to perform well. Do you actually use the screens of the wheel am not sure how i feel about an external DDU covering my triples so it kinds of makes sense. Appreciate the input as most of people with such high end wheels got the strongest wheelbases and would like to hear your opinion. Subscribed as well. :)
First, thank you for watching and subscribing. Second, you can't go wrong with either one I would have possibly gone with the FPE V2 but it was announced 1 week after I already pre-ordered my Hyper P1. Funny you ask because when recording everything I was waiting on the simucube 2 Pro to come in because I had a feeling the wheel was gonna be too much for the CSL DD. I will say it managed but I was clipping in iRacing and it would cause little issues. The P1 is definitely made for something that is higher nm and can handle the weight. I use my DDU a lot, it has a lot of information that I need for my lap splits and other track info in GT3. For GTP I can't ever see the wheel and now that I have a wheel with a DDU I removed the wheel completely so I can be even more immersed and I have the Porsche dashboard right there.
Fanatec did me well for starting off it was a good entry into Direct Drive. Coming from the crappy Xbox belt drive I had for Forza really made me appreciate everything.
GSI is definitely not number one! There lower end wheels are listed broken all the time on eBay. From buttons breaking off and screens not working and paddles 😂 these are over priced junk with low end materials inside! And high price tag doesn’t mean something is mad better or that it will actually last.
And only customers service in discord is a fucking joke. Use your website and email from your company. Don’t rely on a gaming app for you rma service! For $2000 you better answer a phone for customer support!
It's also more expensive. It being a better wheel is subjective - quality wise it's about on par and I think you're paying a premium over this one for the licensing.
Great Review, probably the only wheel thats better for me is the Bavarian Simtec Omega Pro...but both are such insane wheels.
i got mine 2 days ago, and man, what a difference to the previous wheel i had.

After ordering my Hyper P1 the FPE V2 was announced and I really wanted to cancel my order and get that instead but maybe down the road I will lol.
the P1 is awesome I was too ready to go that way but once I heard the FPE v2 was coming it was a no brainer
How do u like the V2 vs the P1? I want the V2. Just scared I might think it's too small or odd shaped compared to the V1 I have.
Awesome Review! Looks like a fantastic wheel! I need it now.
It’s been great so far I have zero complaints
hey man, great review, one of the only wheel reviews i actually enjoyed watching
Thank you for the feedback. I try to leave out the fluff and give my honest feedback since I’m a paying customer. Hopefully this helped you.
Great review! Thanks.

@@MrBilliam29 no problem at all I can’t just leave you hanging. Good luck and hope to see you in the GSI family.

How long does a battery last? did I miss that part?
@@Jisbrowsing There isn’t a battery, it uses a USB cable. Which is typical for most wheels with Vocore screens.
Gomez really knows how to do it. Top stuff
After couple of months, Which one you find better : steering with screen or steering with separate screen ?
Gonna have to go with a DDU that you can put in your line of sight. Having to look down at the wheel sometimes distracts me
@ thank you
I have the screenless rim (Hyper SL) i love it so much ! Great quality indeed etc
Wow! That box. I do love this wheel. My only complaint is that the screen is just a little too small.
Really? I thought 4.3” wasn’t bad
Good stuff brotha. Glad you got your wheel. I said that forever wheel thing. And yeah not gonna happen for me. lol
Hahaha yeah I told myself that but we will see in a years time.

been on the fence about buying the hp1, just afraid GSI will release a v2 then i'd be pissed. Do you think they will release a v2 anytime soon?
I don’t see them having a V2 for awhile especially with just releasing the FPE V2. The Hyper P1 is the flagship
@@steezyisgaming I mostly do gt3 racing, do you recommend this wheel or is the fpe 2? Or even the GT Max?
Looks a lot like the 2024 Oracle Red Bull Racing wheel
Would anyone be interested in a more detailed video? If so, what would you like to see?
Nice video 👍 May I ask what program did you use to do your cool intro?
I had it made on Fiverr but I’m sure it’s a template you can just download

very sexy looking I must say, and the wheel looks good too

Looks overpriced, my grid engineering RSR 911 is a better wheel and licensed by porsche.
Isn’t your wheel over $2200? That’s cool that it’s licensed by Porsche but doesn’t make it any better just because of that.
It's also more expensive. It being a better wheel is subjective - quality wise it's about on par and I think you're paying a premium over this one for the licensing.
Looks overpriced? So you have never tried it...and have no first-hand knowledge of how it actually compares to your wheel?
Over $2200 for the GE RSR 911 rim & it doesn’t have a single 7-way “funky” switch which is essential for black box navigation in iRacing.
Tried both at a car show. Yours sucks but gsi is godly.
