I have the version with bluetooth and it works perfectly for me. There are no disconnections or delay. I also find it more comfortable than the cable because it is to put the steering wheel and that's it, like an original Fanatec steering wheel
Thanks for the video! I had the exact same problem as you with the disconnecting cable on the XF1 pro about a month ago. It seems like this connector (be it a faulty batch or structurally) is a weak point. I bought the wheel directly from the Leoxz website. I contacted them via email and always had a response within a day, even on the weekends. They straightaway offered to send me a new cable and motherboard and 8 days after initial contact I received both cable and motherboard. (Even more impressive as it was shipped all the way to Europe from China) I've had 0 disconnects with the new cable after driving with it for a month now. My trick is to use an USB extension cable, so there's less tension on the original cable and you can just disconnect the USB extension to turn off the display instead of having to plug-in the (fragile) connector everytime you want to turn some laps. It might not be ideal, but the fact that you can get a formula wheel made out of forged carbon fibre, a screen, magnetic shifters, dual clutch and very decent build quality for (often less than) half the price of some competitors, will come with its downsides. At the moment of writing, the fragile connector has been the only downside for me, and lasted 8 days before it was fixed. Maybe the small diameter would have been another one with larger hands, but I've been able to get used to it. Haven't been able to get used to how good it looks on my simrig however!
I think the delay in response was partly Abruzzi's fault as well. I finally got a refund from them but it took ages and I had to chase them loads. Glad your wheel is now working correctly.
May i ask what usb extension cable you have? ive tried multiple and they either work but disconnect randomly ingame or they just dont detect the wheel at all
I have the wheel myself and i believe to think he has a bad unit. My connection is still rock solid and sturdy. Also the buttons dont move and the knobs are not easy to turn. The only thing we share is the bad stickers opinion. Really enjoying this wheel!
I was about to comment the same Paddy haha you beat me to it,basically it's a poorly built wheel with corners being cut not acceptable at this price point.
Great review, I'll be passing on this wheel based on the cable issue and your paper weight theory! Although its priced well, a wheel that cost this much should have dedicated software and not simply rely on 3rd party support. Thanks again!
The MOZA FSR formula wheel would be a better buy in my opinion but you do need the MOZA RACING Universal Hub Kit that comes with a USB box for hooking up a wheel direct to the PC and comes with a universal adapter for using with non MOZA wheel bases and in the UK they cost around £35/40 to buy so that does add extra cost.
I bought this wheel after Boosted Media review. Gotta say I love it. Not had Amat of the problems you notes. Cable connector has stayed sturdy. Stickers as you say are rubbish. I used some I got on Etsy. One major issue I have is getting the rpm LEDS to match up with the game. Tried everything and it always sits way up at high rpm regardless of what I do. Did you manage to get the LEDS to match in game LEDS or at least close to where they are in game?
Seems like it varies between cars. Some were OK but as you say, for others it would be impossible to set them right. Didn't have enough time with the wheel to try and figure it out though.
You could set your idle dashboard in simhub to be off, that way when your not in a game the screen and leds would turn off. Good review though I'm debating one. You happy with it now? 😊
Great review, I like your style of presenting. I'm interested in the BT one as I want to just swap out wheel quickly without having to plug in USB or anythihng. Only thing I'm not sure is about the quality of the screen as the sport one has lower pixel count than the pro.#
Hey how is your wheel now? I’m currently having usb issues as wheel and have sent an email to their support but haven’t responded yet. Iy has beem a week now
Wish I had seen this before I bought mine, had the same issue today after buying earlier this the week from Abruzzi...not looking forward to having to sort this out. Any update on your situation?
Sorry to hear that you've had the same issue. I got it back from Abruzzi and it worked for about 40 minutes before breaking again. I've sent it back and asked for a refund.
@@alfaracer9876 Ahh okay. Leoxz wanted me to ship it to China or replace the circuit board myself...I have asked Abruzzi if i can just return to them and purchase a different brand instead, potentially Moza, as this is the same as my wheelbase and looks to have a sturdier USB connector.
The stickers aren't great quality... But to be fair abut the offering of stickers they are meant to replicate the Merc F1 wheel or just F1 wheels in gen and not a general layout like a GT car with wipers and such
I was actually considering this wheel to replace the same Fanatec one as I'm off the Fanatec ecosystem but this has really made me reconsider it - think i'll just usb convert my fanatec wheel now haha thanks for the video mate
Glad it was helpful. I heard back from Abruzzi, apparently the motherboard was faulty. So that's a cable and a motherboard that failed in the short time I had it.
@@alfaracer9876 get a USB extension cable and a USB Bluetooth dongle and just place the dongle some place close to the wheel and then run the cable back to the PC, just make sure you get a BT 5.0 or better dongle as version 5 and newer have far less issues with random disconnects when compared to older version of the standard

Is this still the case? Also, how long do you use the wheel for at one time. I’m a big endurance guy, that’s why I ask :)
@jowpana What wheel base are you using? Are you running it on PlayStation?

@isaacgillissen5491 which usb extension cable do you use? none of mine work properly
Thank you for this video. I was looking for more in-depth pros and cons of this wheel.

My mate has one and having all sorts of issues!... does anyone have a pcb diagram for thr leoxzf1 rim... cheers guys

It was probably just a matter of tethering the cable to the QR somehow so any tension is intercepted from getting to the port on the wheel

hey hey, do you really need the cable? The wheel should work without on the CSL DD?!
For Leoxz wheels you either need to use Bluetooth or USB.
Do you know of you can set the paddles to throttle brake mode like in the fanatec wheels

Although having screens on wheels looks great, in reality you probably won't look at them much. You'd probably be ok to get the sport version.
Hey how is your wheel now? I’m currently having usb issues as wheel and have sent an email to their support but haven’t responded yet. Iy has beem a week now
I sent the wheel back for a refund in the end. Keep sending them emails, hopefully you will get an answer soon.
Sound like they're holding Fanatecs old unwanted beer

If you come from fanatec that is lighting fast lol

not okey 😮💨
Why don't you just swap it for the Blutooth model ? I'd be interested in one myself as it looks awesome but I race in VR so there is really no point.
I could do. I wasn't that keen on Bluetooth because I was worried about dropouts 😂 Cable ended up being 10x worse.
@@alfaracer9876 I reckon go with the Bluetooth

Damm stop with that okay
ohh, okey dude.
