Actually, the template is quite strong if the skill cooldown is not too long, unlike paladins who are very fast with their skills

paladin have high armor and area damage, templar just critical damage and medium armor

@@Shatrakr A major problem with the templars is there low attack rate - the bleed skill does decent damage, but combining a 10% proc chance on a 2.5 attack rate is a killer for dps. More, the revival is ultimately chance based, while the healing is on a set timer.
Templars seem ideal for holding back large units with aoe attacks - on paper the low attack rate is offest by number and when all three would take fatal damage, at least on would live. This is mostly negated by the fact they fall off very hard if they cannot focus all three units on a single enemy
