      Just letting you know if somebody pulls out a gun to defend themselves someone will most likely die maiming shouldnt be the intent it should be to put down the person attacking you becuase hesitation could get you killed not that killing is ok but id rather be alive than dead due to my reckless hesitation

    Thanks for the post Jeff.
    Real simple:
    1. Don't cut down cactus.
    2. Don't drink n drive.
    3. Don't smoke dope unless it's medical and you have a card for it.
    4. Don't be a stooge and try driving through flooded roads.
    5. Don't kill anyone unless it's truely self defense.

    The gun laws are great. This was sixth year that AZ was voted best state for gun owners and concealed carry. Doesn't mean the feds aren't always trying to change it. But so far so good.

    • @chrisackerley1842
      @chrisackerley1842 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      You are absolutely right! Arizona will be the last state to enact repressive, confiscatory gun laws. The benefit of Arizona's gun laws is that, while Phoenix is the fifth largest city in America, the violent crime rate in Phoenix is 81st among the 100 largest American cities!

      No kidding! They are tough about that! Remember when that little girl was killed by a falling bullet? I think it was around 10 years ago. The custom of firing a gun into the air on holidays came from Mexico, but it sure as hell stopped after that law was passed.

      The mistake that was made though when Brewers sighed it into law was a person don't have to take classes anymore now anyone can carry and not know the laws when and not draw your weapon or shoot in other words no more gun safety classes.

      I was born in Arizona in 1940 and have lived here, off and on, for most of my life. I still remember my first Boy Scout hike when our scoutmaster hacked open a barrel cactus to show us the nasty pulp inside that you can squeeze the juice out of if you are dying of thirst. It does not taste good. I suppose that he could have gone to prison for doing that, but he didn't seem all that concerned. Prickly pear cactus has some fruit that is pretty good, but you really have to watch the little fuzzy stickers that are on them. They're really hard to get them out of your hands. It's easier to just burn then off. Tucson is loaded with prickly pear and you see people harvesting the fruit along the side of the road. I live in Phoenix and due to the lower elevation we are not quite as overloaded with cactus as Tucson. We have enough, though.

  • @4F_ranch

    It is not an open carry state. It is a right to carry state. You can carry open or concealed without a permit in most places. There is a conceal permit available that allows you to conceal carry in a place that serves alcohol like a restaurant as long as you don’t consume any alcohol.
    And just FYI, if you get your medical marijuana card, you are not allowed to buy, own, or transport firearms or ammunition.

      @RonSpilker 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can only go on the premises of a place serving alcohol if they do not have it posted in a way specifically defined by law. If they have it posted in the specific way described by law, you can not legally enter whether you have a permit or not.

    As a Firearms Instructor, here are the facts.
    1) NEVER shoot to warn.
    2) NEVER shoot to wound.
    3) NEVER shoot to kill..
    4) ALWAYS shoot to STOP (and NO MORE).

    • @davidfowler7040
      @davidfowler7040 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose that if you don't shoot to wound or kill, you must shoot to miss. If you are shooting to stop, then you must be shooting to warn. You really leave no other options. I suppose that you can just show your gun which gives them the option to shoot you first, provided that they have a gun. They would be in their rights since they were threatened with a gun. I don't carry a gun soI don't have to worry about things like this. If I did carry a gun I would probably shoot several people every day that were driving other cars.

    Your First reaction when using a gun is to maim someone and slow them down? Have you lost your mind!!!you should only use your firearm if in fear your life or others. And if you are in fear of your life you shoot to stop the attacker period.

    • @bluetopaz1228
      @bluetopaz1228 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This is 100% correct. I took a concealed carry certification course in AZ and we were instructed to never to shoot to maim and to aim for center mass to have the best chance to stop/kill the perpetrator. When someone is threatening you're life you don't take chances. And you never shoot unless your life is threatened. Thank you @J Hearld for posting this.

      @@JacobEcret actually Californian s are the ones who i had to educate all the time about federal highways ( any federal highway funded does not have a designated passing lane.)if speed limit is 65 , I can do 65 in left lane ( since most left lanes are physically better to drive on, allow visuals of animals eyes at nite for better response time to not hit, etc) and passing can be done on right. Federal funding is for martial law enacted and freeways become Usable by military only. Anyone not driving speed limit is idiot anyway if they don't stay to right for safety reasons ( car mechanical issues) since almost everywhere it is impediment of traffic by going to slow
      Not saying you about driving however most Californians think only passing on left is allowed, and giving high beams like that is gonna change the law while i do speed limit(or 5 above) In left lane . I know for sure every state west of the Mississippi is that way for federal freeways

    A 2nd DUI w/o a valid driver's license is legally upheld as an aggravating factor. The MANDATORY SENTENCE is 4 months in the Department of Corrections (prison) in Arizona. However, this is more than likely to be to be the consequence of most states. DUI laws in other states, (surprisingly) are often harsher than Arizona. Arizona ranks in #5 strictest DUI (alcohol) laws in the nation.

    Fireworks, for one I'm very glad they legalized them here in AZ. I was Active Duty Air Force stationed at DMAFB in Tucson and then the AZ Air National Guard (ANG) over at the Tucson Airport. I'm also big into guns, like most in AZ. The number 1 thing legalizing Fireworks in AZ did was stop most of the retarded from shooting their guns in the air. 2 Times a Year, the 162 FW ANG, gathers all personnel on the base and does a major walk covering the Guard section of the airport and some times a lot more. We use to pick up a lot of bullets on the Flight Line right after New Years and July 4th. Also you would hear about people getting hit by bullets during those holidays. That no longer happens. We do not find bullets on the flight line and you never hear about someone being hit from a falling bullet.
    As for the air burst or launched fireworks, they are legal to buy and fire off, except within the city Limits of Tucson and Phoenix. If they truly were illegal to launch, you would not be able to buy them at those roadside markets and one would not be able to order them and have then shipped to AZ. If they were illegal to sell or buy, Air Burst, the police would be raiding those those fire work stands where they sell them. I have bought the air burst ones here in Tucson from them just this last 4th of July, 2019.

Now I do realize that washes are normally dry most of the year and that is most likely the reason. At least until the Monsoon Season when they flood. In the Midwest (at least in Indiana) a creek or other waterway is considered a Public Use area and does not belong to the property where that creek is located. At least that is how it was when I lived in AZ. Thanks for the interesting video. JRS

    Before moving here from California, I read the Arizona drivers manual online, thinking that I would have to take the test here, which I ended up not needing to do.
    However I noticed one difference between the states' driving laws. In California, when you make a turn, unless there is a line directing you to get in a certain lane after the turn, you can choose any lane that you want. In Arizona, if there is no line directing you to a certain lane following the turn, you are supposed to get in the rightmost lane following a right turn and the leftmost lane following a left turn.

    When it comes to laws the best practice is to always be on solid ground meaning justified for whatever act you take. Just because a law says it’s allowed doesn’t guarantee you’re good. Civil litigation by victims families, an injured recipient of your actions, biased or bleeding heart jury’s, or even an elected DA making an example of you and so on can all bury you in legal debt. Be smart and able to demonstrate you had no alternative but to do what you did. A bandit inside your home is often very different from one trying to steal your car from the driveway. legitimate risk will justify your actions and help you sleep at night as well.

    AZ is currently referred to as constitutional carry. This allows most people that are generally allowed to purchase a gun, to carry that gun concealed, without a permit.
    This doesn't mean there are no restrictions. There are restrictions.
    Even if you don't apply for a permit, take a class so you can learn the laws. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you need a class. Tons of classes offered in a lot of the shooting ranges.

    It is possible to have a cactus moved by a permit holder, or to obtain a permit to move a cactus. Though, there are stipulations and limitations.
    For saguaro cactus specifically. If the cactus was propagated by humans, no permit is needed. Also, the removal of cactus remains, though not encouraged is not illegal, again with permission of the land owner. Also, a permit to move a saguaro is only necessary if it is taller than 4 feet.
    P.s. all land in Arizona is owned. Either by the government, tribal, private, etc.

    Because Indian reservations are about 22% of the state they have their own separate laws that could be completely different from Arizona laws. Guns laws are different there. Marijuana laws may be different. If you have medical marijuana you can't buy a new gun under federal law. Also if you have a medical Marijuana card, the possession of pot is still illegal under federal law. You can conceal a handgun without a permit in this state. Not on Indian land, so be careful. Much of Indian land has daylight savings time, not the rest of the state.

      The problem with that is when the prisons are private corporations getting slave labor from the criminals, the state has a motive to sentence people to prison for crimes that formerly wouldn't demand incarceration. There is no rehabilitation in the prison system if the goal is to keep a good supply of cheap labor. What happens then is you end up with repeat offenders doing life in installments for violating impossible parole violations and not being able to find employment or housing even with a misdemeanor that's 10 years old. Keeping the prisons (work camps) full is somehow done even when the crime rate is down. I definitely agree that staying out of trouble in the first place is good advice, particularly if you're not a wealthy individual. They said they were from a medical group in Arizona called Creative Medical Solutions and they could bill my insurance and send me an E-stim machine and a back brace. In the moment I was in so much pain I was desperate. I agreed. They sent me the items and billed my insurance. I never saw a doctor. Many people have to get rescued from washes but almost no one ever get charged the fee. I've heard of maybe one person in 15 years lol!

    Any Arizona laws requiring a driver to take a blood-alcohol test? Massachusetts has an "implied consent" law meaning you consent as part of obtaining your license to take an alcohol test (breathalyzer or blood) test at any time upon request by a law enforcement officer. Refusal to take the test results in an automatic license suspension (6 months minimum).
