Hi! I tried emailing you, but I typed it in incorrectly and now I can’t find it on your videos. Would you be able to provide me with the correct email? Thank you
Me too!!! I am from NJ. But, I must say, people ask me where I am from originally because to me 72 is cold. Anything under 80 is cold to me. That’s why I loved the heat of Arizona. I visited and I thought 114 was a bit hot but 95-100 was nice and perfect weather.
Your videos really helped solidify my decision to move to AZ from MA. Just got here this week! Drove across the country. Just wanted to say thank you & I’m going to keep watching!!
I lived in tucson ten years almost with no AC in my pickup. Its ok, you get used to it, windows down. But once its over 100 degrees, then it starts getting a little uncomfy. It also gets really cold in higher elevations, really cold! Like ShowLow = cold winter. Just a quick tip, every year in the summer when the heat first hits, there are ALWAYS multiple people who die of dehydration. They were out hiking, running, walking and did not have enough water. Happens EVERY year. Dont be that person if youre new! The desert literally sucks the water right out of your skin because the air is very very dry, so please be careful to drink and carry much more water than usual if you dont have any experience in Tucson or the desert area.
Yep, I was on a trip where a girl in my group didn’t think and staying out at the pool in the sun with no water. And she had to go to the hospital for dehydration.
@@ladya6803 we LOVE it so far! we're in the Power Ranch Community HOA and it's so nice and green and very family friendly. A few years back I stayed in Phoenix a week for Christmas. The people were so nice that I met. I came from Ohio not knowing anyone. I found the people of Phoenix and the city itself welcoming...👍

I think you did not touch enough about the weather, specifically the heat. I came from New York. It’s very dry here it’s not Florida. I can’t stand humidity. Also it’s not warm here 12 months a year. It’s really hot 4 months a year but the rest not so bad. If you love great weather and sunshine you will love it here.

Love your videos. Moving to marana in may and your videos are helping with my preparation in my move. My mom moved there 6 years ago, and my grandpa moved out there 20 years ago, but they have not i formed me as much as you have. Very happy i subscribed to your channel
Marana, that is home to Evergreen air. The CIA run airline that sprays the atmosphere with all varieties of cancer causing agents for one world Population Control ! Forgetabouit !
As far as sunscreen, I really want to recommend against it since sunscreen is actually extremely toxic. You’ll notice that in middle eastern countries, shielding with lightweight fabrics is the way to go, in addition to avoiding exposure during the most extreme parts of the day. I think they’ve the right solutions with that mindset. I encourage smart exposure, hats and clothing rather than chemicals that absorb into the bloodstream. Thanks for the video!
I heard if you go outside shortly after sunrise most days, your body will be most efficient in determining where on the planet you are and therefore know how strong the midday sun will be. (For people moving from out of state to AZ) The human body is miraculous and there’s so much yet to be discovered. ☀️
As soon as I open my mouth, my heavy NY accent comes out. That's when folks here in AZ look at me like I'm a freaking martian. That's ok, I dig their heavy accent too.
Arizona is a desert in the midst of a severe drought. Here in Tucson, we get most of our water (CAP) from the Colorado River. We share that with 7 other thirsty states and Mexico - some of which are also experiencing a drought. Last night (June 15th), I was waiting for it to cool off to 90 degrees before watering my plants. It never did. It was 96 degrees when I finally went to bed. It's supposed to be 117 tonight at 8 p.m. We haven't had our annual monsoon rains for three years! So if you're moving here and planning to put in a lawn, please, don't. Do us all a favor and plant heat tolerant native trees instead. I haven't had to water my mesquite and palo verde at all.
From Toronto here. when we say we have two seasons, winter and construction..that doesn't mean construction stops in the winter, it's year round here as well lol
Living in Florida I can relate. We have palmetto bugs (huge cockroaches with wings), snakes and alligators. I’ve seen dead scorpions in the Keys but never on the mainland but I know they’re around. Recently there have been Coyote sightings in the city. Lastly plenty of 55+ folks. 😀 One day soon hope to have a home in central AZ.
Thank you for covering a lot of the basic things. My partner and I are planning to move in the next couple years and Arizona is pretty high on our list. You covered a lot of things that I don't find on other channels, like the dust!
We used to have an indoor/outdoor cat when we lived in Ahwatukee. One night a coyote got him in our neighbor's backyard. My young daughter found him in two pieces. Believe me, that's not something you want to go through with your kids, wasn't great for me either. Keep your cats and small/medium dogs inside.
The hubs & I are having a home built so we can enjoy the rest of our lives spoiling grandkids we hardly get to see. Now we’ll be close by. As with every State, you have your own set of problems. You adapt and learn. I can’t wait to put roots down in Arizona. I do enjoy listening to what Arizona has to offer. I’m looking forward to exploring....👍😘
AZ might not rank very high on the list for public schools but we have school choice and a very healthy charter school system that has been around since 1994, which means you can enroll your child in any school and the funding follows your child. The only barrier is transportation (we did carpooling but some offer busses) and waiting lists at the most popular schools. (The 3R schools are most popular) My teens went to a small charter high school (120 students) that was next to a community college, the students took college classes that were a credit for their high school diploma and counted toward their college degree. The classes were funded by the school and some students graduated with an Associate Degree along with their HS diploma! All AZ community colleges are all recognized by the AZ state universities so if they decide to go on to complete a 4 year degree all credits will transfer.
I figure he meant like Scottsdale he said in a past video is very expensive. So, people who live there are high class and might be more arrogant and act more arrogant. Gilbert I hear is more affordable but still very desirable place to live so maybe they are nicer and more down to earth. But, it would be good if he did. Explain more. I know what you mean.
Man I remember as a toddler my dad was on the Cardinals and we were living in Gilbert, AZ in one of those nice big ass houses and I could never get them out of my head. I just wanna go back somewhere warm
Things to Know About Moving to Arizona 2021: #1 - If you are from California you are persona non grata... try Texas or New Mexico instead. It will be more pleasant for you.
Your comment is very rude, Jim. Don’t generalize! Don’t tell Californians where to live. They are free to live anywhere they please in this country, just like you are hopefully free to live anywhere you wish. Not all Californians are alike, nor vote alike. I am a Republican Californian, a working tax payer, a US citizen and I can move wherever I please. Every state has its share of bums, homeless, criminals, and leftists.
Hey Jeff! Thank you so much for your videos. I’ve learned so much about Arizona from you. 6 months ago me and my wife have moved to Phoenix area from Washington state due to my wife’s health issues. We’ve used your brother’s services (thanks for the referral) to purchase a home; he was great! We enjoy so many outdoor activities Arizona has to offer year round; heat doesn’t bother us that much. We are so happy to see peoples faces instead of masks. As you have mentioned in one of your videos Washington state is obsessed with masks; people are jogging wearing masks, a single person driving a car wearing medical gloves and a mask 🙃 Keep these videos coming! God bless!
Hello there, This is some more great information, I do plane to move there, I do understand a lot and agree with much of what you are saying., Only coming from Nevada and it is similar dry weather. take care my friend
I’m 60 born and raised in Chicago. I’m going to Phoenix April 4 to see if I’d like to live there. Gonna look at different locations. I like forests more than desert, any suggestions? Thanks
Hi, Been watching some of your great videos. I will be a "snowbird" this next year and have been trying to get info on somewhere to rent for 5-6 months. Been having a very hard time getting anywhere. Any help would be appreciated. 55+ communities would be fine and really want the warm weather.
@@mandilynncarrillo2279 i dont want a lot of traffic is there a town thats well populated with a lot of stuff going on but not too trafficy i like my space lol
@@doxazo-2718 try to look at the outskirts of the inner city you will be ok! But closer to the the city is more traffic. Queen creek, Anthem, Good Year, surprise, carefree, San tan valley. Check around those cities
Overall pretty good - Where I live, in central Phoenix, we do get scorpions - have had several in my place this past year. Was pretty focused on your shirt - the smoothness of it and tight fitting in that it looked like a blue wet suit with a collar :)
Everybody from AZ can talk about the seat-belt-buckle shaped brand on our leg from getting in the car in summer. When we say it's hot and sunny we ain't playin.
Ok how do I move with bad credit (mainly have bad credit from covid) im a single mom i had to dip into emergency finances. Are there places in Tucson thatll accept me?
I don’t know anything about Arizona but I know if you can find a private renter, one who maybe doesn’t like paperwork, they might not ask you for a credit check.
We live in Montana where the construction is booming and my husband who’s a contractor has work into the next 6 months and it’s been like that since we moved from Cali here 9 years ago. So much work! We aren’t competing with big construction companies and...well, the Hispanics like was the case in Cali. They do a lot of work for little $$. Is that the case there? Is “construction living” difficult because of cheap labor? Sorry if that sounds horrible but it’s a legit question 😬
We just visited Arizona and I would definitely recommend some good quality sunglasses with UV protection and a sun hat. That sun is blinding and could damage your eyes permanently.
Gilbert is good for young families. Gilbert is surrounded by most of the cities which allows for easy access to other cities. Hurry the price homes 🏡 is going up.
Buckeye or Goodyear are better. Gilbert is way east and you'll feel far away from phoenix plus it's expensive. Scorpions are fun to kill at first but then it gets boring and you'll forget about them. Most of what people have to say about living in Phoenix Area is exaggerated.
I live in WA and love going to the mountains and national forests roads to go shooting and camping can that be found in AZ? I mean i sure it can but any one else like to do those activities and find it easy to do in AZ as well?
Yes. Camping and shooting are both done here. Hunting is a big thing, too. You need to watch for fire restrictions, though, the forest service will post when camp fires and shooting is not allowed because the risk of fire is too high. If you want to explore southern AZ, you might be surprised to see signs that tell you that you are near a drug/human smuggling route and to be extra cautious. We have a favorite area that we go to every year that is in that corridor and we have never had an issue.
@@mrswjr4061 yeah they have the fire warnings up here to in WA so i get that. I never have problems up here shooting and camping as long as like you mentioned watch for the fire signs and shoot far away from others in the area. Figured it would be the same thing with the national forests lands down there too but was not sure. Thanks
If you live in Western Washington you will love the weather. People are much more friendly than Washington. Housing cheaper. Politics is more conservative without the craziness you are used to in Washington.
@@kingshanethe1st One of my favorite areas is Sierra Vista. But I also like Prescott. Presently I am in Kingman but in a development out of town called Valle Vista. All three areas I mentioned will see a reduction of heat during summer while being warm in the winter. Lots of really different sites to visit and things to do compared to Washington. As an example I am one hour from Vegas, one hour to the Grand Canyon, 1.5 hours to the oldest rodeo in America. The Hulapi Mountains is only 30 minutes and visible from my back yard. During the day I have many birds, squirrels, Rabbits, and lizards eating at my food and water station. Lots of art, yard sales, Phoenix is 2 hrs, Flagstaff is 2 hours. Flagstaff is pretty but too many mask wearing liberals, snow in winter very very deep, housing way expensive.
I'm thinking of moving the family to AZ I'm not like the people here or how everything is coming up here in California its getting ridiculous I just want to work and go home to my family but I also know no one likes California people so im not sure I would let anyone know but I would like to know what cities I can look into for the family... I bring my family and my truck driver experience to AZ... I just want to be at peace with my wife and kids.
Welcome to Arizona. It's terribly expensive and always has been ,however people are moving in from BLU.E states to escape the awfulness and housing prices are UP there. Rents at Prescott are at $2,000 a month and expect to experience crime . Other than that, enjoy your stay . Oh, I forgot one thing . There is a WATER shortage.
#1 - Your vote doesn’t count. #2. Maricopa County decides your future regardless of where you live. #3. The slugs who set the electrical rates are on the payroll of the power companies.
Moved here in October 2019. We were so excited to move here but we have been so disappointed. When you get anywhere near Phoenix there is trash everywhere, homeless everywhere and people here just throw their animals away like they were trash. I came here from Massachusetts and I had maybe seen 5 dead dogs in the road over the course of my entire life, and I have literally seen 10-15 in the last 6 months. You see abandoned pets daily here. We couldn't stand the rain all the time back east but it is ridiculous that it has only rained once in Surprise since April. The cost of living here has gone through the roof but the pay has stayed stagnant. The schools are terrible here, my daughter is 2 years ahead of everyone in her class. People here are "fake nice", at least back in Massachusetts everyone is an a**hole but they are upfront about it. I could go on and on but I think you all get my point. Once my wife is done with college here we will be moving out of state as quickly as possible.
@@timothywells9813 I'm not saying that those people are only locals and I am only giving my opinion on my experience here, yours may differ. I'm a truck driver so I see far more of the inner city that I care for so maybe it is making me jaded.
@@thecuz2798 You should have done more research before moving to a place so far from your home. I’m surprised that as a truck driver, who has traveled thru many states, you weren’t aware, that most- not all - of AZ is a desert. When you live in a desert climate, it is normal - not ridiculous- to experience 8, 9 months or more without rain. Perhaps you can try moving to another city in AZ, especially in northern AZ, where you can experience all 4 seasons or milder climate, than Surprise. By the way, I have never lived in AZ- I am a southern CA resident, and have been for most of my life - but since I have a daughter who lives in AZ, I drive there several times a year to visit her, and have grown to love and appreciate the beauty of AZ.
@@Lourdes-A. I actually did my research by living here back in 08-09. Ask anyone who has lived here and they will tell you this place has changed over the last 10 years. The rain was only one of many complaints. Also I never said that Arizona wasn't beautiful but I am starting to realize I am more Country mouse than City mouse. Seeing the homeless, the abandoned animals and the trash littering every street drains on you. If I could just work in the suburbs and never have to drive around the city that would be great but that is not where the money is.
I miss living in Arizona. I live in Missouri now. We have coyotes and mountain lions too. I live out in the country. I see lots of wild life. Also... when I lived in AZ, I did get Valley Fever.☹
Anywhere other than the phoenix area is fine. Phoenix and its surrounding areas are basically becoming LA. High prices, tons of homeless and tons of californians. Oh, and by the way. He mentions the national parks which are beautiful! Just be ready cause they're crowded as fuk and people leave all their chit behind.
I'm moving from UK to Phoenix in a couple weeks. Can't lie, I am scared to death. The way Americans do stuff, is so alien to how we do it in the UK. Amount of times me and my American wife have butted heads is silly because, what I figure is common sense and normal doesn't happen in US and it scares me how I'll handle it lol.
@@Paige-Turnner 1. People carrying guns isn't normal in any western country but America. So if I get into an arguement with someone over anything (it happens) I've got t worry they're carrying and may shoot me. 2. In Arizona, you don't have to have a yearly 'health check' on your car, so in UK all cars can't be driven on the road unless they passed an MOT test. Like that's a law here. 3. Healthcare another think that scares me. The whole do I have the right insurance etc, in UK we pay 4% tax per year for everyone to get healthcare no matter the issue. 4. In UK we have employment rights, so I get 4 weeks paid annual leave no matter the job I have. I won't be 'guilt tripped' into not taking vacation. I've seen many stories about that on social media. 5. Your food standards, so American meat can't be sold in EU/UK because of how low the quality it. For example, American farms bleach their chicken....like wtf, why does a chicken need to be bleached, that's just not normal. There is alot more I can add to the list. But I'm in the middle of something haha.
@@markjenkins464 okay, I can tackle #1, people get in arguments all the time and most don't end in a shootout lol I've never had a gun pulled on me during a confrontation and I don't carry so if I'm not scared, neither should you :) Also, most people aren't confrontational, most just want to be left alone, so just don't be a jerk and act all superior because England does this or England does that. Remember, we won a war against England because we didn't like the way you ruled over us. ;) Healthcare is fine, we believe in personal responsibility and individual autonomy rather than the state telling us what to do with our bodies. If I choose to live a certain way, I have to live with those consequences. I don't expect my neighbors to lift a finger for me if I end up sick because of my choices. However, America is one of the most charitable nations in the world, I'd rather my neighbor choose to be charitable rather than forced to be. Food is fine too. We have organic meat if it's such a concern. Standards are arbitrary, if you cook it well enough you'll be fine.
@@markjenkins464 As far as work goes, no one can guilt trip you out of a vacation. Just do it. In America we used to have this thing called a Protestant work ethic which the left has discouraged to oblivion so no one is going to get upset if you take some time off.

I grew up in Az and so did my dad , I never wore sunscreen and never had cancer , my dad wore it and got skin cancer. There's something to that .
I agree ! It clogs your skin so it can't breathe. Just cover up an have fun .

One day soon hope to have a home in central AZ.
Yes Florida has scorpions!
Ahhh Palmetbugs! My grandma lived in South Carolina so I saw plenty of them as a kid. And don’t forget how they hiss as well!
Thank you for covering a lot of the basic things. My partner and I are planning to move in the next couple years and Arizona is pretty high on our list. You covered a lot of things that I don't find on other channels, like the dust!
I've got three air filters running all the time. Valley fever or fire smoke are no joke.
I love travelling to Arizona specially during winter time because it's not very cold down there.
Another great video. Thanks man!
I will be coming from Colorado to Arizona! I’m a little afraid of the heat. Lol
I do want to know what the job market is like. Great video!
Who else has driven while wearing oven mitts during the summer?
Well said. I pray to move this October.
(The 3R schools are most popular)
My teens went to a small charter high school (120 students) that was next to a community college, the students took college classes that were a credit for their high school diploma and counted toward their college degree. The classes were funded by the school and some students graduated with an Associate Degree along with their HS diploma!
All AZ community colleges are all recognized by the AZ state universities so if they decide to go on to complete a 4 year degree all credits will transfer.
When you say there's a difference in the people and personalities depending on location. Could you elaborate on this?
I figure he meant like Scottsdale he said in a past video is very expensive. So, people who live there are high class and might be more arrogant and act more arrogant. Gilbert I hear is more affordable but still very desirable place to live so maybe they are nicer and more down to earth. But, it would be good if he did. Explain more. I know what you mean.
Awesome video!
Excited to return to AZ. Hopeful by fall.
Thank you
They have a map with scorpion hot spots in Pheonix and Tucson. I have never had one in my home.

Things to Know About Moving to Arizona 2021:
#1 - If you are from California you are persona non grata... try Texas or New Mexico instead. It will be more pleasant for you.
Well said Jim Dandy
not cool...why is that....you honestly think most people leaving CA are liberal....definitely not my experience
Arizona is a blue state. move to Kentucky with your kind.
@@choprox01 As a matter of fact I do and the statistics show it.
As you have mentioned in one of your videos Washington state is obsessed with masks; people are jogging wearing masks, a single person driving a car wearing medical gloves and a mask 🙃
Keep these videos coming! God bless!

We have a lot of these heat problems in Alabama, good to know
Everybody from AZ can talk about the seat-belt-buckle shaped brand on our leg from getting in the car in summer. When we say it's hot and sunny we ain't playin.

Dont think it would be easy
I don’t know anything about Arizona but I know if you can find a private renter, one who maybe doesn’t like paperwork, they might not ask you for a credit check.
Who has the best gun stores ?
We live in Montana where the construction is booming and my husband who’s a contractor has work into the next 6 months and it’s been like that since we moved from Cali here 9 years ago. So much work! We aren’t competing with big construction companies and...well, the Hispanics like was the case in Cali. They do a lot of work for little $$. Is that the case there? Is “construction living” difficult because of cheap labor? Sorry if that sounds horrible but it’s a legit question 😬
Yes it’s like that here and being in the Southwest you’ll also see a lot of Hispanics too.
I have recovered from COVID-19, and my body is now extremely sensitive to cold. I am literally craving for dry, desert heat.
We just visited Arizona and I would definitely recommend some good quality sunglasses with UV protection and a sun hat. That sun is blinding and could damage your eyes permanently.
My fiancé and I are thinking about moving to Gilbert! Anybody have any pointers? Trying to get as many opinions about it as I can!!
Family friendly but heard its a hot spot on scorpion map. Google it
Gilbert is good for young families.

@@mikewhite9818 what area? I was told flagstaff from someone before and i have a friend in tucson that say that area is not bad.
Welcome to Arizona. It's terribly expensive and always has been ,however people are moving in from BLU.E states to escape the awfulness and housing prices are UP there.
Hey Cruz the fake nice people you refer to are from everywhere else where you from
@@timothywells9813 I'm not saying that those people are only locals and I am only giving my opinion on my experience here, yours may differ.
Anywhere other than the phoenix area is fine. Phoenix and its surrounding areas are basically becoming LA. High prices, tons of homeless and tons of californians.

What do you consider common sense and normal? Care to share an example?
@@markjenkins464 okay, I can tackle #1, people get in arguments all the time and most don't end in a shootout lol I've never had a gun pulled on me during a confrontation and I don't carry so if I'm not scared, neither should you :)
Also, most people aren't confrontational, most just want to be left alone, so just don't be a jerk and act all superior because England does this or England does that. Remember, we won a war against England because we didn't like the way you ruled over us. ;)
Healthcare is fine, we believe in personal responsibility and individual autonomy rather than the state telling us what to do with our bodies.
