    I think I commented on this video before. I just wanted to touch on a point you made in a previous video. Where you warned about how expensive of a hobby buying boots can be. You also offered an alternative such as getting into denim. I didn’t get the message then, but I definitely get it now. I’m now on my trying out denim phase and it is exciting. I’m reminded of how much I liked when jeans fade. This goes back to when I was a kid. Just wanted to say thanks again for being a “real” one. Later.

    Glad to hear they fixed the pocket issue. My naked and famous jeans have almost unusably small front pockets

      I wonder if Weird Guy and True Guy (maybe Easy Guy and Strong Guy?) have big pockets and not the slimmer models.

      @@thevintagefuture6567 it's probably a combination of bigger pockets and the fact the slim fits have smaller thighs

    Hey Woody! I do dig the car reviews. Feels like we're going for a ride and having a conversation. A few things: first, I agree that it's a good color, good for a change, and sorta' 70s. The numbers look to me like a true 501 style---classic but not wide, and from the knee down a true straight look. I agree that then narrower hem line makes for less of a "look" given contemporary norms. You might get a bit of contraction but surely not much shrinkage with a wash but I'd say be careful with the hot water, it will cause the denim to fade far more quickly. It'll be fun to trace the evolution of this pair---keep us apprised and enjoy the journey.

      Always good to hear from you! It won’t be long before I start calling myself Woody, I’m sure 😄 You nailed it, talking about the nice change of vibe with the color. It’s Wrangler but not too Wrangler haha…And thanks for the input on shrinkage and similarity to the 501; that’s helpful to know. I had some Cerulean Blue jeans from Naked & Famous that faded pretty well, nice light cowboy vibe, so I can’t wait for these to shed their sheen and produce that dusty, washed out, dull light blue fade. Thanks, friend! Will talk soon!

    Dope video man. You’re right about trying other brands that are more cost effective. Especially because you have children and the older they get the more expensive they become. You mentioned in another video about how nice the denim journey could be. I’m starting to believe you. I never noticed the fades before as much as I do now. I didn’t fully understand the idea of breaking in jeans before. How the more you wear them the more comfortable they become. Later.

    That's definitely a nice cut on you. I couldn't make any Naked and Famous fits work either because of my small waist and big legs. Easy Guy's fit me but the taper on those just looks absurd to me. Looks like True Guy might be the way to go

    • @thevintagefuture6567
      @thevintagefuture6567  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yeah, they’re saying True Guy is more or less the top block of Easy Guy combined with the legs of Weird Guy. Sounds like it might fit you.

    These look great. I’ve thrown a few things in the dryer to shrink some. Just make sure they’re inside out. I’ve almost started to prefer upsizing and drying since it’s so convenient to dry stuff in a dryer. My sanforized denim did shrink after several washes but the dryer speeds up the shrink.

    • @thevintagefuture6567
      @thevintagefuture6567  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I kept at it after this video, and after two inside out hot runs in the dryer (with towels in the legs to prevent weird leg creases) and an additional hot wash, I finally got them to shrink just a tad. Now they fit PERFECT as far as I’m concerned.

    I was looking to get into selvedge denim, but everything appears to be made for people who are as skinny as a rail. I've tried the Weird Guy jeans, and couldn't pull them up passed my thighs. Still looking for something that will fit an athletic body shape.

      I think the Strong Guy fit is supposed to fit larger thighs? But there are many brands with better patterns than NnF. Maybe look at Dawson or Denime for starters.

    i love the approach to this because theres a difference between reviewing in a vacuum, say me recommending my samurai water denim and it just being pointless for the average punter. i try to remember im pretty far down the crazy order direct from boncoura path and think its better to figure out what the gateway products are and what isnt going to cause someone else to have buyer's remorse.

    I was back and forth on N&F double dirty and Freenote indigo brown jeans and went freenote with a pair of Wilkes. Love them but the pockets are shit. I’m always hesitant to buy jeans online but where I live there aren’t any shops that sell this type of quality items

    Thanks for the video !Odd question but did you mention your height and weight?
    I am around that size myself and curious for that reason. I have the easy guy fit at home and usually go for the size 33 waist, the leg taper is a lot on those but need the room for my upper legs. Not sure if you had the same issue?

    • @thevintagefuture6567
      @thevintagefuture6567  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t have large thighs, so I could get by with a 12” thigh, maybe less. My measurements are:
      5’10”
      170lbs
      33” waist
      41” chest
      18” shoulder
      30” inseam
      Also, if you look at Blue Owl website, their measurements are more accurate than the ones on Tate and Yoko website.
      Hope that helps!

    Dave, these look pretty good. I hope they expand their offerings in True Guy. The dimensions for my small guy size are pretty solid. 7.75" opening is about the smallest I can go with boots. Might check these out in the future. Really dig those mocs btw!

    • @thevintagefuture6567
      @thevintagefuture6567  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! And yeah, dimensions can be so frustrating. I feel like a pattern either works for the middle of the bell curve or the low extreme or high extreme, but rarely for all three….My only issue with this one is the extra fabric in the top block, but I think if I got the next size down that wouldn’t be a problem.

  • @EdwardShepherd-oi8nu
    @EdwardShepherd-oi8nu ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Never down size man! Thats a big no no.What if you gain weight ? Then you cant wear them no more. Then you have apair of jeans that you dont wanna wear because they are not comfortable now. The pattern is perfect by the way. Great video!

      In the raw selvedge world it is an entry level brand. It doesn’t mean it’s bad, but it’s about as cheap as you can go for raw selvedge denim. There are a few other brands in this tier, like Bravestar and Nudie and Gustin.

    • @TonySop
      @TonySop 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are an entry level brand but they offer some very nice denim. Also they have products that compete with the other so called high end companies. But they also offer stuff that isn’t minimum 400 dollars. Gotta love NF for that!! ❤️❤️
