I'm not sure if you're taking requests, but I'd love to see this become a regular thing like "Font Fridays' or such where you showcase a font and show us how YOU would use it or ways to make it really stand out. :) Just a suggestion - thanks, and have a great week!
Just wanted to share something I learned by accident. In Affinity Designer, if you have some text selected and you know the name of the font you want to use you don't have to scroll through the font list to find it. Just click on the current font name to open the dropdown list and then start typing in the name of the font you want. It does auto-complete similarly to Google or Amazon. I find it to be lot easier than scrolling through a long list.
"IMPACT REGULAR"-is my fav. I must say Juna, you have a talent for teaching. Before I watched your video What you showed how to do looked like a foreign language, after watching your video, it makes sense, and do-able.....Great Job.....keep them coming. Thanks!

Right now I like Adora Chalie (I think from Creative Fabrica) for headings in my meal/day planners. Thanks for all of the info. I didn't realize Affinity Designer had the glyphs view. That will save me a lot of time. 🙂

Great video... I got this font the other day and never played with it... I'm using Gimp and don't have a glyph palette that I am aware of, the shortcuts 1-9 work for the accents, still trying to figure out how to change the font from standard to fancy... @@DetourShirts I forced myself how to use this awesome font in Gimp, it's a slow process, but will be worth the effort... In windows, go to start button and search character map, pin this to taskbar or start for easy future access. Then, in font dropdown, find the boldstyle, character set should already be "unicode", then in the group by dropdown, find unicode subrange, bring that dialog up, then scroll to bottom and click private use characters, click... Find your font character, and click to copy, go to gimp, highlight the text you want to replace, and paste character. easy peazy.... Thanks for reply Juna... You rock.
Some times you can just type in letters like fi and the font will know to use a special character but other times you will need to open up the glyph palette to see all the other special characters that exist. Some font families have a ton of special fonts that can only be accessed with the glyph palette.

Great suggestion! I like to pair a simple font when the other font is not so simple so it doesn't compete with it.... so yes... I would do a nice thick sans serif with this font.
I don't get how to get to the different gliphs. I'm using Photoshop. Is there a keyboard shortcut like the Number & Underscore to get the alternate Capital letters?

I've been wondering while downloading fonts and assets from Creative Fabrica or Freepik, if I can use them for P.O.D. or if it depends on the specific font or asset. I assume if all the fonts inside a bundle deal say "Lifetime license for personal and commercial use", that this applies to the bundle aswell, even when all it says is "This bundle includes 31 premium fonts"... This is the case with "Urban Grafitti Font Bundle" at Creative Fabrica.

I figured it out for windows. So make your design and when you want to change the letters go to your search bar and type in character map and change the font to the font being used. Then copy paste the new H or S or whatever you want

Great question... a lot of times FREE doesn't mean FREE for commercial use..... most of the time FREE means FREE for personal use.... make sure to check the terms... if it is FREE for commercial use then you can use it.

Photoshop should have some kind of glyphs palette it might be called something else though
