This scene is the reason why my dad almost prefers the second Blues Brothers movie to the first - the amount of legends performing this song. He's a saxophone player, a blues fan and a B.B. King fan.
This was the best part of the entire movie! The amount of talent on this stage almost brings tears to my eyes. Call me crazy for that statement, but I just love music so much.
I remember when my dad told my older sister, me, and my younger brother to "Get dressed, your mom went out to eat with your aunts and We're gonna see a movie!" One of the best movie theater experiences of our lives.
Any one of theese guys and gals could have held the stage on their own. It's an honour to see the last of the R&B greats showing what R&B really is and why it was great
The talent on that stage/this recording is legendary to say the least. Amazing to have this saved for the ages now that unfortunately so many of them have passed on.
Is it just me, because I have watched and heard this performance numerous times, and it gives me goosebumps & the gitties every time. Especially the ending 😅
I honestly wish they'd decided to assemble a Blues mega-band for the 1980 movie when some of the other Blues Legends were still alive. I have always loved this song, even before this movie came out. R.I.P. to B.B. King, Bo Diddley, KoKo Taylor and the others who are no longer with us.
Someone asked me, in the current era of remakes, the blues brothers is duie for a remake. My answers, even if you could find leads who looved the blues, you'd never recreate this...
I danced with bb kings wife, Lucille on her birthday. I danced with Albert Kings wife at Antones in Austin. I’ve seen Freddie King live. My life is complete.
I am. It was my birthday and hers too. My wife bought me a ticket. I went to will call and they couldn’t find it. They said don’t worry, we’ve got a great seat for you. It was right next to his wife, Lucille. Just a magical night.
Complete band: * B.B. King as Melvin Gasperone - Vocals and guitar * Jeff "Skunk" Baxter - guitar * Gary U.S. Bonds - vocals * Eric Clapton - vocals and guitar * Clarence Clemons - vocals, tenor saxophone and tambourine * Jack DeJohnette - drums * Bo Diddley - vocals and guitar * Jon Faddis - trumpet * Isaac Hayes - vocals * Dr. John - vocals and piano * Tommy "Pipes" McDonnell - vocals * Charlie Musselwhite - vocals and harmonica * Billy Preston - vocals and synthesizer * Lou Rawls - vocals * Joshua Redman - tenor saxophone * Paul Shaffer - director and vocals * Koko Taylor - vocals * Travis Tritt - vocals and guitar * Jimmie Vaughan - vocals and guitar * Grover Washington, Jr. - baritone saxophone * Willie Weeks - bass guitar * Steve Winwood - vocals and organ
Many missing that would make more like hank Sr. Ray Charles g. Jones Jimmy Roger's and hendrix buddy Holly to many great singers who sang with twang and pure soul !!!!!
BB King Bo Diddley Eric Clapton Koko Taylor Lou Rawls Jimmie Vaughan Dr John Travis tritt Jeff Baxter Steve winwood, I think the real question is How Blues can you get?
BB King. The King of the Blues. He was even friends with Elvis!! But I’m so confused!!! From the comments, I heard that Blues Brothers 2000 wasn’t a good movie, and yet I heard that the music was phenomenal!!!!!!!!!!! BB King, Eric Clapton, and Koko Taylor are in this one scene!!!!!
There's a couple of articles where the director points out the troubled production as a result of the studio making unwanted changes to their script. eg: wanting them to tone down the films content in order to secure a PG/PG-13 rating despite the original's R rating, wanting the film to feature a kid in the story, several elements changed etc The consensus among audiences and crew involved was that despite the film not being great, the music was its saving grace.

the music in BB2000 is much much better than in the original movie.
I like it too. And the soundtrack is 🔥
And you forget to say: Your dad has a good, good taste. Cheers to you both!
I could listen to them jam on this one song for hours.
Usually, when you cram so many stars together 'too many cooks can spoil the broth'. But here, it... Just... Works... In-credible....
All these cooks will never spoil this musical stew..
it was very carefully planned. Hats off to The Arranger, whoever that was. Music ARRANGERS never get the public credit that they deserve.
@@ignorecorporatenews Probably Shaffer, wouldn't be the first time yielding gold from chaos!
Simple - no egos only the love for the blues
The real winner of the contest: The audience.
To be in this audience, my goodness, it must've been like going to blues and soul heaven!
And they got paid, right?
This is the greatest grouping of artists ever
Espectacular banda para los que sabemos disfrutar de la buena música
Like how blues can you get?
Every so often I come to this video because I was raised right🤷🏿♂️
I remember when my dad told my older sister, me, and my younger brother to "Get dressed, your mom went out to eat with your aunts and We're gonna see a movie!" One of the best movie theater experiences of our lives.
raised right is your dad taking you to a double feature of Animal House and the Blues Brothers when you were 6 years old.
Bruh, that is way too much talent on that stage. My goodness
Any one of theese guys and gals could have held the stage on their own. It's an honour to see the last of the R&B greats showing what R&B really is and why it was great
Every time I see this it sure puts tears in my eye for all of those Greats that are gone now. GOD bless them All !!!!!!!!!!!
I've never seen this movie so I was pretty shocked to see Eric Clapton! I shouldn't have been. Literally everyone is on stage. Lou Rawls! BB King!
The movie is not all that but the Louisiana gators boys made it one of greatest movies ever made in one 5 minute song WOW WOW WOW
The talent on that stage/this recording is legendary to say the least. Amazing to have this saved for the ages now that unfortunately so many of them have passed on.
There were plenty great musicians in that movie that aren't with us anymore rip their music and skills are legendary
Nothing adds more to a song than a horn line that spits hot fire.
Almost 2 much talent on one stage
A true master of his art! Thank you for you music bb. It will never be forgotten.
horn section is a true 4 headed monster
Is it just me, because I have watched and heard this performance numerous times, and it gives me goosebumps & the gitties every time. Especially the ending 😅
Redd Foxx was a big BB King fan he sang this on a Sanford and son episode back in the day
RIP to the Big Man, Mr. Clarence Clemons!
Crazy how I only realised that he was there just now. He's up in the Paradise By The C with B.B. King, Isaac Hayes and everyone else
All those artists legends on that stage
One of the good reasons to watch this movie again.
one of the only good reasons
A last big Hurrah from proper R&B, you have been missed...
Fabulous, fantastic, forever grateful 🎉
So much talent in one place...it's just mind boggling!
OH MY GOD!! AMAZING!!! SO MUCH LEGENDS HERE

There's a lot of talent on that stage. All star band.

Never in a million years could this be duplicated nor should anyone try.
This is the dream team of blues.
How blue can you get? 💙😎🔥
I danced with bb kings wife, Lucille on her birthday. I danced with Albert Kings wife at Antones in Austin. I’ve seen Freddie King live. My life is complete.
You actually dancing 🕺 with B B Kings 🤴 guitar 🎸 ² music must have been quite an honor 🎖. 😅 Be grateful 😮.

2:52 I can't tell if they're annoyed or just giving deep respect to fellow musicians - unless its a combination
Imagine you're meant to perform after that 😂😂😂😅
It's a movie. They were like the antagonist of the movie
Thats the original band from Blues Brothers. Its a joke
The music was better in the second one just because of this

RIP BB King Isaac Hayes and Dr John
Wow stage is full of Blues kings and an IT tech guy from Microsoft with his short sleeve shirt :D
Quelle BROCHETTE 👍🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸 4:18
One of my favorites 🎵👍
Stevie Ray Vaughan is missing :(
His brother is there to represent for him though - Jimmie Vaughan is playing behind Clapton at 0:20
And Jeff Healy
He’d died by this time.
And jeff beck 😢
And me 😂😂😂
I just realized the part bb king was singing was sung by Kenny on the Cosby show when bb was a
Guest on the show talking about the blues
The talent on that stage...... WOW. Sorry, but the 2000 music was way better then the first.
How can America have so much talent!❤ .....
Akroyd, thank you
💪💪🎸🎸👌👌👌 Amazing the blues
I would have given anything to see that much talent on a stage at once! ❤❤❤
Sweet Blues can you get Honey 😊
Legend.
That looked like Grover Washington on baritone. If it is, it was probably one of his final performances.
It is Grover Washington Jr, and it was one of his final performances before he passed
Puros monstruos de Groover Washington jr. hasta Jack De Johnette, pasando por Steve Windwood, Bo Diddley, Koko Taylor y Taj Mahal.
Who is at the 02:24 mark with that smooth sax?
I would’ve paid a ridiculous amount just to be an extra in the crowd
Сколь блюза ты сможешь уместить в своем сердце? А вот не больше чем здесь, иначе разорвется.
Damn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
3:51 is my favorite part
Say what you will about this flick, this was my introduction to a lot of these artists. Especially BB.
The man
lets be fair, theres a reason this song won the battle of the bands
No; the audience was the real winner.
Many missing that would make more like hank Sr. Ray Charles g. Jones Jimmy Roger's and hendrix buddy Holly to many great singers who sang with twang and pure soul !!!!!
This whole scene is unscripted. That's why it's so nice
💖💖💖💖
- God:"how blues can you get?"
- this song: yes
BB King Bo Diddley Eric Clapton Koko Taylor Lou Rawls Jimmie Vaughan Dr John Travis tritt Jeff Baxter Steve winwood, I think the real question is How Blues can you get?
