I know this is a few years old, but just wanted to point out that I've heard from reputable sources that Skwisgar is based on Alexi Laiho from Children of Bodom. If you look at the two of them, the resemblance is pretty clear. They're also both incredibly skilled guitarists.
i think the idea that they are based one any ONE person is a stupid idea. they are more likely an amalgam of several people. metal artists and non metal artists

Nathan Explosion is based, in part, on Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele. Pickles is also based partially on Axl Rose.

Skwisgar also likes to say Yingwie is his dad. I can see either guitarist as being a basis for the character.
