If there’s a possibility that Murderface is bisexual, then it’s almost confirmed that Skwisgar is. In the same episode when Murderface said he wouldn’t eat a hotdog or any phallic shaped food, Skwisgar said something along the lines of “I would eats a hotdog. Just putting that outs there.” Of course it IS Skwisgar, so it’s hardly surprising.

I unironically listen to those Nathan Explosion Reads Shakespeare videos end to end now and then, and I never enjoy it any less. There are actually four of them in total- Hamlet, Titus Andronicus, Othello, and A Comedy of Errors. There are hidden gems in all four but learning that Nathan plays Words With Friends (against people who use bullshit words like ayEE-GEE-on), the little instances of him reading punctuation and notation like dash-dash-he and ‘in parentheses the number 125’ out loud, that Wall-E shit, “how come he mad” followed by 20 seconds of coughing, and “…guy could’ve used an editor” will always be my favorite bits to listen for. Each one just gets progressively _less_ Shakespeare (Hamlet is actually almost all Hamlet, while A Comedy of Errors is literally all anything but) and it’s just incredible

I think the Galaktikon 2 album (vinyl order) was supposed to be the "just in case" Metalocalypse ending. Brendon said he felt like he owed the fans an ending, and I personally believe this is as close as he could've gotten legally. Now that the movies coming, it's definitely gonna be retconned. But it was all the fans had for 8 or so years. No one knew if the story was gonna be completed. So diehard fans used this to get by for a long time. I definitely appreciated it. Plus it's fun to speculate about it! Maybe some theories will be confirmed canon. I'm so excited!
Admittedly part me thinks the basic outline might be similar (especially since some parts are pretty obvious such as Murderface being the traitor) but with some things here and there heavily expanded or changed altogether if only because it seems weird to do the movie when the events are more or less outline even if Brendon Small invoked death of the author to save face. Although I do agree that maybe Triton should get a cameo at least, and in fact I keep half-joking that they should get David Dastmalchian who played him in the Nightmare music video to voice him

Yeah, Galaktikon 2 is a sick record but felt wrong as a Metalocalypse ending. It going to space just felt wrong for Dethklok, kind of wish it was just a definitive Galaktikon sequel so it could've been a stronger record but it's still incredible
I'm not a huge fan, but whenever I see this show airing, I like to have it run in the background because it's genuinely one of Adult Swim's best original shows

When you were talking about the guitars I wondered if you were going to mention how Brendon’s studio was robbed in August of this year. 12 guitars including a Thunderhorse prototype were stolen and none have been recovered yet (as far as I know). Mannnnn people suck ☹️
watching this vid after seeing the movie in 2023 was such a good decision. all the points you addressed about a proper ending to the series, the meaning of the prophecy, whether galaktikon ii ties in with the plot--AOTD definitely answered all of it. we can't deny that even if the rest of the galaktikon ii album couldn't tie in with metalocalypse, the song "exitus" is too much of a coincidence not to be directly referenced in the movie. those who watched it know exactly which scene i'm talking about. -as a side note, when you brought up storyboard errors, i knew you wouldn't be able to bring up one very specific animation goof in the uncensored version of "rehabklok" that would probably get your video demonetized-
"Doodly ding dong tick tock" Sounds phonetically how you would describe guitar riffs. Like when we mouth guitar riffs to our favorite songs. it's in line with the opening riff.
There is also a little background Easter egg in the Venture Bros episode Momma’s Boys, in the asylum for insane villains (like the show’s Arkham Asylum) and there is a drawing of Muderface on the wall. Also, Brendon Small lends his voice to Action Johnny in the show, and every time I hear him, I just hear a mix of Nathan and Pickles.
I like the pickles barrel theory, but in Snakes N Barrels 2, Charles reveals that Pickles joined the band AFTER they formed, and they already had the name. It's a cute and fitting headcanon but it doesn't fit perfectly with the show's lore.

27:47 Simply turning the subtitles on while watching on HBO Max completely kills the debate lol, sometimes it’s written as both “Diddly-ding-dong-Dethklok” and “Do anything for Dethklok” The whole intro is something like “Doodlely-ding-dong-Dehtkok” 3x, “Dethklok” 2x, I’m ticking for the” “Dethklok” 2x, then all the characters intros.
With Selacia being the “father” of dethklok maybe he’s the one who pulled the strings bringing all of the band members together. Cuz we never saw how the band actually came together so maybe we gonna find out that selacia “willed” it to happen.
I was under the impression that galacticon 2 was named that because they weren't able to use the name dethklok since it's not owned by brendon small, it's adult swim. So when the one guy said "it's basically dethklok" that is how I always viewed it. I know brendon small wasn't ready yet to end the show and was rather upset at the cancellation from adult swim, and he was already in the middle of the album for galacticon 2.
I don't buy into Rick and Morty saving Metalocalypse because it would imply Dan and Justin weren't egotistical douchebags and cared about something they didn't make.

I always thought it was "tickety tick-tok tick-tok, do anything for deathklok" like the klokateers were being taught their roll to the ticking of a clock in the song.
The Depths stranger also has the same fingernails as Salacia, iirc. I feel like that stranger is definitely him, and he was there to deliver the same poison to Murderface as CFO describes - which is why the final few frames of the DSR show it spreading to his heart. I don’t actually think Murderface is the traitor though. maybe this is pushing it for a reason but he clearly says “there IS a traitor among them,” before the Depths of Humanity, and at no point does anyone turn on the rest of the band.. except for kind of CFO? I don’t want to believe it because I think that it would be too unjustified a departure from his character (unless Salacia’s influence hasn’t actually left him like the thought) to just turn on Dethklok now, but I’ve wondered if CFO’s resignation has more to it that we were meant to see in S5. His stepping away might have been the (intended) cause for Ishnifus to have to sacrifice himself, because I’m 100% certain that Charles would have been the one to do it first had he been there, and he would not back down from protecting the band unless he wasn’t that protector anymore. S5 may even have seen him as a final villain, or second hand to Salacia-but it’s not really what I would _want_ to see most so I’m hoping I’m wrong. It’s still fun to think about though
Im ready for the new movie. My hands down favorite episode is REHABKLOK. People going to rehab and getting the help they need. Skyhunter is my 2nd favorite song (I tamper with the evidence at the mudersite of odin is my 1st). Skyhunter also happens to be a sick double entendre of being locked away and trying to get out while it being from the perspective of someone in rehab. ***this is my interpretation of the song, and 2hy I think it goes so well with the episode. one thing to point out for the '' Stranger is Salacia'' Theory is that he shakes murderfaces arm and almost purposefully ''stabs'' him with that metal bracelet. His left arm is even forcefully holding him down. he then hypnotises him with praise, even saying planet piss is his favorite band when we know planet piss doesnt have an album out yet as he says that in the movie. BUT what I mean to draw attention to is that handshake. as that arm is the first we see being possessed/corrupted at the end of the Doomstar Requim. I'm not FULLY onboard with the theory but, in that context that scene has some different meanings
Adding to 32:20 - Kidrobot produced 2 vinyl figures for their Adult Swim mini series launched in 2008. Hard to find, but not crazy rare like the full band figure set! They only made Murderface and Toki, my 2 favourite characters, so I feel lucky to have them both. Worth a look for collectors if interested. Fantastic video - do anything for Dethklok!
I’m surprised that NOBODY talks about how in Doomstar Requiem it’s revealed that Dethklok actually had a an anger before Offdensen (Jack Black’s character in fact) but for obvious reasons it’s not mentioned what the hell happened to cause him to be replaced by Charles. I’m pretty sure we might finally get Charles’s backstory in the movie, maybe they’ll even bring back Jack Black who knows? 26:43: There’s also the Venture Bros in which the character Dermott Fitcel has a poster for Dethalbum I in his room. Although I doubt that’s an indication that they take place in the sand universe considering how while Metalocalypse is crazy, VB responds with “hold my beer”. Unless maybe the [adult swim] is exists in-universe, which would make more sense if still a slightly weird case of celebrity paradox considering how Brendon Small voices multiple characters on the show 48:34 Somehow this one sequence combines two of my favorite characters of all time in one place. Also oddly enough I’m friends with Social Bunny (although we haven’t talked in a while) so this was surreal 😂 But on a more serious note, I was skeptical at first but honestly I do believe the Dadlacia theory for the most part. Although I have an idea that sort of expands in it: which is that Charles isn’t the only child of Salacia and that he basically had multiple of these “Half-Spawn” ,as I call them, as part of his plan (think Ego the Living Planet from Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2). And in fact one theory I recently came up is that one of them is the Metal Masked Assassin considering how in Doomstar Requiem its possibly implied that his brother aka 216 raised him as they lacked parents. But then again we won’t properly know for certain until the movie explains Salacia’s nature, although I still love the fucked up dramatic irony of it all considering the series’s theme being brotherhood and the Charles and MMA conflict having Cain & Abel subtext. Honestly I also buy the Seething Vortex and Pickles Barrel theories. And while the Dwayne is Nathan theory is fun on paper, honestly it makes WAY more sense that Dwayne becomes Norman Blowup from Thunderhorse (IDK maybe something happened with Scäb).

There are actually four Shakespeare sessions, one for each season DVD. The ones on TH-cam are from 3rd and 4th seasons. One thing I would have liked to see included is the music videos - especially that Andromeda and Ghostqueen have only been seen in concert with no official public release, and I Tamper With the Evidence which was never shown live but was a bonus feature on a rare regional variant of one of the season DVDs.

Dethalbum Tab Book $296.01 Dethalbum II Tab Book $432.22 Sadly I couldn't find any site that still sold the Dethalbum III Tab Book as it appears to have been a limited print. I'm assuming that one would be the most expensive due to how rare it is.

It looked like the motivation was to bring the fans to back, along with finishing both Metalocalypse and The Venture Brothers series properly, with the added bonus of bringing people over to HBO Max; as HBO would now start moving these series off of other 3rd party streaming platforms to their own. Sorry I can't remember when it was or what press release I read at the time, but i am sure it said they each got a season and a movie out of it [or at least thats what was offered to the producers of the show].

i think salacia is the father of dethklok. technically speaking, he is half of them. "Half man" as you put it. He's also (and this is a theory as well) the metal god/ music god. I think he's a god of some sort. This would make dethklok gods as well but were reincarnated as humans.
I definetly believe the “Dethklok are reincarnations of gods” theory for certain, it would certainly explain why their visage keeps showing up in ancient art across civilizations. And if the Dadlacia theory is true that would basically make Charles the rough equivalent of the anti-Christ, albeit fortunately the Hellboy kind

I just watched this after my roommate and I watched all of Metalocalypse on DVD and the movie. The intro lyrics thing gets worse though: On our dvd copies the first season actually says "Do anything for Dethklok" on the subtitles, meanwhile in either season 2 or 3 they switch to the "Diddly ding dong tick tock". So yeah even the official releases want to either mess with us or don't know.
Fun fact. My friend Kyle’s band, Ministry of Pain, opened for a Dethklok show in NJ. I think it was Starland. They legit put Dethklok to shame, as much as it pains me to admit. Kyle threw his shirt at the end of the set, and it got caught up in the ceiling/lights. Amazing show. But there were a bunch of kids playing alongside Brendon for some reason.

I really don't think Murderface is gay. Gay jokes were common back in the mid 2000s to early 2010s, it's not any deeper than that. Nearly every show on the planet back then had some kind of joke along those lines.

Sorta disappointed that you didn't mention the very real concert experience that was available to anyone who was cool enough to go to a Dethklok show in real life. I had seen them play the Hollywood Bowl at the Forum...it was set up like a lost episode with a giant screen playing with the characters we love so well, but still even more metal than that you had the actual player, i.e. Brendan Smalls et all directly below the screen clad all in black playing bad as fuck in the shadows. I've seen a fuck-ton of amazing shows in my day, but hat's off to those musician's who made that experience happen without ever needing to have the spotlight literally or figuratively shown on them...twice as badass as the show or the albums, just saying.... maybe you can throw that in your next tribute to the most metal cartoon to ever play the Hollywood Bowl!

As important as KISS is to my music eduacation, I've never liked when Paul Stanley would do his live show, screeching "Ohh yeeaaaahh!!" adlibs, and the way he'd "sing" his words when talking to the audience. I really hated that, lol... And to me, Dr. Rockso has that very same whiny, high pitched, slightly gravely voice that really grates me! Just wondering if anyone else made a similar connection? I mean, it wouldn't be too far a stretch of the imagination to think that Dr. Rockso was created entirely based the on stage Paul Stanley persona. That's what I immediately thought the first time I saw an episode with Dr. Rockso.

I unironically listen to those Nathan Explosion Reads Shakespeare videos end to end now and then, and I never enjoy it any less. There are actually four of them in total- Hamlet, Titus Andronicus, Othello, and A Comedy of Errors.
There are hidden gems in all four but learning that Nathan plays Words With Friends (against people who use bullshit words like ayEE-GEE-on), the little instances of him reading punctuation and notation like dash-dash-he and ‘in parentheses the number 125’ out loud, that Wall-E shit, “how come he mad” followed by 20 seconds of coughing, and “…guy could’ve used an editor” will always be my favorite bits to listen for. Each one just gets progressively _less_ Shakespeare (Hamlet is actually almost all Hamlet, while A Comedy of Errors is literally all anything but) and it’s just incredible

I think the Galaktikon 2 album (vinyl order) was supposed to be the "just in case" Metalocalypse ending. Brendon said he felt like he owed the fans an ending, and I personally believe this is as close as he could've gotten legally. Now that the movies coming, it's definitely gonna be retconned. But it was all the fans had for 8 or so years. No one knew if the story was gonna be completed. So diehard fans used this to get by for a long time. I definitely appreciated it. Plus it's fun to speculate about it! Maybe some theories will be confirmed canon. I'm so excited!
Admittedly part me thinks the basic outline might be similar (especially since some parts are pretty obvious such as Murderface being the traitor) but with some things here and there heavily expanded or changed altogether if only because it seems weird to do the movie when the events are more or less outline even if Brendon Small invoked death of the author to save face.
Although I do agree that maybe Triton should get a cameo at least, and in fact I keep half-joking that they should get David Dastmalchian who played him in the Nightmare music video to voice him

Yeah, Galaktikon 2 is a sick record but felt wrong as a Metalocalypse ending. It going to space just felt wrong for Dethklok, kind of wish it was just a definitive Galaktikon sequel so it could've been a stronger record but it's still incredible

watching this vid after seeing the movie in 2023 was such a good decision. all the points you addressed about a proper ending to the series, the meaning of the prophecy, whether galaktikon ii ties in with the plot--AOTD definitely answered all of it.
we can't deny that even if the rest of the galaktikon ii album couldn't tie in with metalocalypse, the song "exitus" is too much of a coincidence not to be directly referenced in the movie. those who watched it know exactly which scene i'm talking about.
-as a side note, when you brought up storyboard errors, i knew you wouldn't be able to bring up one very specific animation goof in the uncensored version of "rehabklok" that would probably get your video demonetized-

Also, Brendon Small lends his voice to Action Johnny in the show, and every time I hear him, I just hear a mix of Nathan and Pickles.
I like the pickles barrel theory, but in Snakes N Barrels 2, Charles reveals that Pickles joined the band AFTER they formed, and they already had the name. It's a cute and fitting headcanon but it doesn't fit perfectly with the show's lore.

Simply turning the subtitles on while watching on HBO Max completely kills the debate lol, sometimes it’s written as both “Diddly-ding-dong-Dethklok” and “Do anything for Dethklok”
The whole intro is something like “Doodlely-ding-dong-Dehtkok” 3x, “Dethklok” 2x, I’m ticking for the” “Dethklok” 2x, then all the characters intros.
With Selacia being the “father” of dethklok maybe he’s the one who pulled the strings bringing all of the band members together. Cuz we never saw how the band actually came together so maybe we gonna find out that selacia “willed” it to happen.
I was under the impression that galacticon 2 was named that because they weren't able to use the name dethklok since it's not owned by brendon small, it's adult swim. So when the one guy said "it's basically dethklok" that is how I always viewed it. I know brendon small wasn't ready yet to end the show and was rather upset at the cancellation from adult swim, and he was already in the middle of the album for galacticon 2.
I don't buy into Rick and Morty saving Metalocalypse because it would imply Dan and Justin weren't egotistical douchebags and cared about something they didn't make.

I always thought it was "tickety tick-tok tick-tok, do anything for deathklok" like the klokateers were being taught their roll to the ticking of a clock in the song.
The Depths stranger also has the same fingernails as Salacia, iirc. I feel like that stranger is definitely him, and he was there to deliver the same poison to Murderface as CFO describes - which is why the final few frames of the DSR show it spreading to his heart.
I don’t actually think Murderface is the traitor though. maybe this is pushing it for a reason but he clearly says “there IS a traitor among them,” before the Depths of Humanity, and at no point does anyone turn on the rest of the band.. except for kind of CFO? I don’t want to believe it because I think that it would be too unjustified a departure from his character (unless Salacia’s influence hasn’t actually left him like the thought) to just turn on Dethklok now, but I’ve wondered if CFO’s resignation has more to it that we were meant to see in S5.
His stepping away might have been the (intended) cause for Ishnifus to have to sacrifice himself, because I’m 100% certain that Charles would have been the one to do it first had he been there, and he would not back down from protecting the band unless he wasn’t that protector anymore. S5 may even have seen him as a final villain, or second hand to Salacia-but it’s not really what I would _want_ to see most so I’m hoping I’m wrong. It’s still fun to think about though
Im ready for the new movie. My hands down favorite episode is REHABKLOK. People going to rehab and getting the help they need. Skyhunter is my 2nd favorite song (I tamper with the evidence at the mudersite of odin is my 1st). Skyhunter also happens to be a sick double entendre of being locked away and trying to get out while it being from the perspective of someone in rehab. ***this is my interpretation of the song, and 2hy I think it goes so well with the episode. This has been my ted talk.

one thing to point out for the '' Stranger is Salacia'' Theory is that he shakes murderfaces arm and almost purposefully ''stabs'' him with that metal bracelet. His left arm is even forcefully holding him down. he then hypnotises him with praise, even saying planet piss is his favorite band when we know planet piss doesnt have an album out yet as he says that in the movie. BUT what I mean to draw attention to is that handshake. as that arm is the first we see being possessed/corrupted at the end of the Doomstar Requim. I'm not FULLY onboard with the theory but, in that context that scene has some different meanings

Adding to 32:20 - Kidrobot produced 2 vinyl figures for their Adult Swim mini series launched in 2008. Hard to find, but not crazy rare like the full band figure set! They only made Murderface and Toki, my 2 favourite characters, so I feel lucky to have them both. Worth a look for collectors if interested. Fantastic video - do anything for Dethklok!

I’m surprised that NOBODY talks about how in Doomstar Requiem it’s revealed that Dethklok actually had a an anger before Offdensen (Jack Black’s character in fact) but for obvious reasons it’s not mentioned what the hell happened to cause him to be replaced by Charles. I’m pretty sure we might finally get Charles’s backstory in the movie, maybe they’ll even bring back Jack Black who knows?
26:43: There’s also the Venture Bros in which the character Dermott Fitcel has a poster for Dethalbum I in his room. Although I doubt that’s an indication that they take place in the sand universe considering how while Metalocalypse is crazy, VB responds with “hold my beer”. Unless maybe the [adult swim] is exists in-universe, which would make more sense if still a slightly weird case of celebrity paradox considering how Brendon Small voices multiple characters on the show

But on a more serious note, I was skeptical at first but honestly I do believe the Dadlacia theory for the most part. Although I have an idea that sort of expands in it: which is that Charles isn’t the only child of Salacia and that he basically had multiple of these “Half-Spawn” ,as I call them, as part of his plan (think Ego the Living Planet from Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2). And in fact one theory I recently came up is that one of them is the Metal Masked Assassin considering how in Doomstar Requiem its possibly implied that his brother aka 216 raised him as they lacked parents. But then again we won’t properly know for certain until the movie explains Salacia’s nature, although I still love the fucked up dramatic irony of it all considering the series’s theme being brotherhood and the Charles and MMA conflict having Cain & Abel subtext.
Honestly I also buy the Seething Vortex and Pickles Barrel theories. And while the Dwayne is Nathan theory is fun on paper, honestly it makes WAY more sense that Dwayne becomes Norman Blowup from Thunderhorse (IDK maybe something happened with Scäb).

There are actually four Shakespeare sessions, one for each season DVD. The ones on TH-cam are from 3rd and 4th seasons.
One thing I would have liked to see included is the music videos - especially that Andromeda and Ghostqueen have only been seen in concert with no official public release, and I Tamper With the Evidence which was never shown live but was a bonus feature on a rare regional variant of one of the season DVDs.

I saw it in a press release ages ago when it got announced that [A.S.]/Cartoon Network had been acquired by HBO.
It looked like the motivation was to bring the fans to back, along with finishing both Metalocalypse and The Venture Brothers series properly, with the added bonus of bringing people over to HBO Max; as HBO would now start moving these series off of other 3rd party streaming platforms to their own.
Sorry I can't remember when it was or what press release I read at the time, but i am sure it said they each got a season and a movie out of it [or at least thats what was offered to the producers of the show].

But considering that The Venture Brothers is all _traditional animation_ [minus 1 or 2 CGI pieces, but its done decently like Futurama] I don't see their special or season coming out for a while.

I just watched this after my roommate and I watched all of Metalocalypse on DVD and the movie. The intro lyrics thing gets worse though: On our dvd copies the first season actually says "Do anything for Dethklok" on the subtitles, meanwhile in either season 2 or 3 they switch to the "Diddly ding dong tick tock". So yeah even the official releases want to either mess with us or don't know.

Sorta disappointed that you didn't mention the very real concert experience that was available to anyone who was cool enough to go to a Dethklok show in real life. I had seen them play the Hollywood Bowl at the Forum...it was set up like a lost episode with a giant screen playing with the characters we love so well, but still even more metal than that you had the actual player, i.e. Brendan Smalls et all directly below the screen clad all in black playing bad as fuck in the shadows. I've seen a fuck-ton of amazing shows in my day, but hat's off to those musician's who made that experience happen without ever needing to have the spotlight literally or figuratively shown on them...twice as badass as the show or the albums, just saying.... maybe you can throw that in your next tribute to the most metal cartoon to ever play the Hollywood Bowl!

Does Dr. Rockso the Rock and Roll Clown remind anyone else of another certain painted face rocker? Paul Stanley of KISS? As important as KISS is to my music eduacation, I've never liked when Paul Stanley would do his live show, screeching "Ohh yeeaaaahh!!" adlibs, and the way he'd "sing" his words when talking to the audience. I really hated that, lol... And to me, Dr. Rockso has that very same whiny, high pitched, slightly gravely voice that really grates me! Just wondering if anyone else made a similar connection? I mean, it wouldn't be too far a stretch of the imagination to think that Dr. Rockso was created entirely based the on stage Paul Stanley persona. That's what I immediately thought the first time I saw an episode with Dr. Rockso.
He is mainly based off David Lee Roth but there is some Paul Stanley in there.
