    • @scottwoodcock3542

Ridiculous argument, for many parents, neither home schooling nor private schools are possible. The addition to curriculum outside of the basics at
whatever level should be closely scrutinized. CRT is a political stance to which most parents are going to object. Holding a discussion in a classroom which references perhaps, inequities within society which persist despite laws which mandate otherwise is a far different concept than holding segments which force white students to apologize to those of colour or admit to their “white Privilege. Mandating reading the execrable Kendi isn’t something I would support and given the almost exclusively progressive stance of teachers in this country I am fairly certain that discussions of CRT, which holds far too much danger of creating divisions among the young, SHOULD be kept to the college level.
I am also highly resistant to the inclusion in young classrooms of the horrific examples exposed in some schools of trans, homosexual, intersectional, heterosexual sexual activities. Teaching the biology of reproduction, healthy choices regarding sexual activity and the importance of responsible contraception and how it’s failure affects your future negatively. Nor do I think the presentation of being gay or trans as laudable or brave is sensible. Heterosexuality isn’t brave, it just is, the same is true of the rest. The school should keep its educational focus on the facts of that subject, the moral, societal implications are the purview of parents, not teachers.

Homeschool and private school children consistently make public school children look like they are hill dwelling cave people who have engaged in zero education and they do this year after year. The highest test scores & percentages of business owners in the us are private and homeschool graduates.
The fact that this widely available and historically long term consistency of these numbers being foreign to Anna is not surprising but is also very telling, shes a product of public school education and due to its sub par standards makes Anna's idiocy and ignorance a possibility to thrive. Agreed.
It should happen more. Unfortunately some of the topics are so damn divisive, and weighing the solutions can cause rifts among us, it’s hard to do this. But definitely possible, and in fact necessary
The truth though, that people never like to admit, is that no one knows FOR SURE, 100% undoubtedly that their solution will work. Some are backed by history, stats, data, facts, but some are not, and people need to admit that sometimes this policy or idea or solution may not work out as planned, but it’s been carefully evaluated and this path is the best to take
Now, when it involves people’s health, it should be approached with the upmost of caution. And even finances/taxes/wages. And regarding both (or anything that can have serious effects), my opinion is that they should always be somewhat slow or steady changes
Like raising wages from 8 to 15 in too short of time could wreck an economy. Hell even 10 years may be too short. But from $8 to 10 in 5 years then to $12 5-10 years later would be slow, gradual, incremental changes, and would appropriately adjust for inflation

Ana deserves a lot of recognition and respect for this debate, as a republican myself, I do also understand that working for over a decade as a truck driver and never having affordable healthcare beyond Medicaid, doesn't exactly make me feel very much like a free American, in fact it makes me feel completely forgotten.
It's really obvious this is an audience of very wealthy people, people that don't feel forgotten for their hard work.
Since Anna has lost a lot of her radical ideals, a lot of what she says makes a lot more sense. I can say from experience I'm sick of delivering products for billionaire corporations that couldn't care less about the welfare of its employees, while also gathering and selling my personal information as data and making a profit off of who I am, but meanwhile I still can't even afford daycare. This audience lately does not care about the working Man, they do obviously care about protecting their investments and people who would agree with that.

@@zaboomba6635 Well that's a fairly broad question really.
I absolutely wouldn't consider myself some diehard Republican but I am conservative, now. I was a democrat progressive raised in Portland Oregon. Why I am no longer a Dem is a broad explanation, but more in reference of my comment though, not supporting rich elitists is more of a republican position than a democrat one. That may not seem the case with political runners like Bernie Sanders always wagging the finger at the one percent, but it's true.
Many of these new democrat leaders are pushing forms of socialism or communism branded as a way out of poverty for the average person. the truth is, it only makes it way worse, and the rich, are richer now than ever before because of the Democrat party pushing communism in culture with woke ideals disguised as the greater good. Its all a scam, it took me a while to figure it out, but it's all BS.

@@2pink1stink The average American today is living a lifestyle that was only for professionals like doctors and lawyers in the 50s. Many wives did not drive, much less own a car. 120 million people were killed by their own governments in the last 100 years. Most of that was Communism. FDR starved Americans. He punished farmers for not plowing crops under as children were eating out of garbage cans in the big cities. FDR's New Deal caused his Great Depression. Historians tell us that. If someone has more than me, it takes not one dime from my pocket. When I had my Jewlry store, I did not care how much other Jewlers were making. I just took care of my own customers and repaired watches and clocks. And worked over 100 hours a week. I now have $232,000 in the bank. The last job I had was in 1976. I built my first and last homes with my own two hands. And paid cash for the other home and my commercial building. Held the mortgage in it when I sold it. Capitalism works for those who work. Unless you have a low IQ or have some other medical problems, if you are poor in America, you chose to be poor. No other system has lifted more people out of poverty or freed as many human beings as Capitalism and Free Enterprise. Communism killed more people than Nazism. Ben never interrupted her when she was speaking, which was the majority of the time, but Ana Kasparian constantly interrupted him and then proceeded to filibuster his time. Very disrespectful and indicative of a low-information person. She was also allowed to ramble across multiple topics in monologues, but when Ben tried to counterpoint to a specific statement she made, he was cut off by the moderator with comments like "That's a very broad topic to cover here". It must have been so painful for her to do that. Don’t be fooled. If you’re familiar with Ben’s or Ana’s content, you’ll realize that Ben is speaking the same things as he does anywhere, but Ana is putting on a fake act coming off as a reasonable speaker when in reality she is very toxic and attacks anyone who doesn’t agree with her. Almost everything she has said here was hypocritical. Just watch any random video on The Young Turks and you’ll see it right away. You’ll also notice that the audience can see through her hypocrisy and will refuse to clap when she seems to be saying something positive. That being said, I do respect her for showing up. This shows that she is capable of respectable and reasonable, so I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing since she chooses to be the total opposite outside this debate. At the end of the day, I will always choose unity over division and if Ana and Ben choose to be friends, it might show people that it’s ok to disagree with others.

The irony of hearing Anna kasperian saying not to get distracted by manufactured culture wars. It's like listening to the head of Coca-Cola talk about the horrible sugar addiction in this company and how we most rooted out at all cost.

I mean when we look at who complains about cancel culture, it is the right. Then the same right goes on to claim that a certain gymnast should lose her job because she is doing something the right doesnt like, or that people should lose their citizenship for burning the flag which is a form of free expression protected by the law.

"Cancel Culture" was right wing sloganeering which they are so damn good at it. Its usage was another round in the culture war gun the right uses to distract.
