Was literally going to write a comment on this 😂 it's amazing how they all really try to keep the conversation civil despite having different opinions. They all showed such a good example of how it IS possible to talk about different political opinions without the conversation turning sour.
My theory is that it was more civil because they weren't trying to convince the other to share beliefs. Imo, I don't think it's just human interaction or realizing that "we're all part of the same race - the human race." Usually leftist are viewed as aggressive and pushy, while the right are viewed as stubborn and set in their ways. When you go into a conversation with the simple goal of just hearing the other side, and accepting that the other individual won't change no matter how much evidence you provide, it can produce this civility. I absolutely agree that it was admirable. I'd say even beautiful.
The problem that I'm seeing in this conversation that was later addressed is that people get SO combative about their political stances. It becomes EVERYTHING that they care about and speak on and they end up becoming a walking political billboard instead of a human being. When somebody says something you don't agree on you don't take it out on them personally and get combative. You don't attack their values or what they believe in, everyone can understand that when it gets personal the listening stops. I really appreciated the open communication and the agreement from both sides but we have to understand that everyone comes from different backgrounds and has witnessed life differently than us. No need to get offended if somebody doesn't feel the same. More than anything as well THIS is an example of the censorship the conservatives and liberals were talking about. When you voice something that matters to you and are IMMEDIATELY shut down and told you're wrong and the name calling starts. Then those platforms label you as a problem account and remove you since all the negative comments of those on the other side. THAT is the biggest censorship we have right now, is the overall bullying mentality from entire groups where the MOB comes after you if you don't agree.
Who else HATES it when people say “THEIR truth”, “MY truth”, “HIS/HER truth”, etc. instead of saying “their SIDE OF THE STORY” because one’s interpretation of a given situation is not necessarily “THE truth” at all
In a way.. that's what actually what's happening on reality.. not all people got the same access to same information; which is important to some idea..
I was told once, that "Perspective is truth". Meaning, two people could see the same event, and come away with completely different explanations of what happened. Its only when we gain knowledge, that our perception changes. So until that knowledge is gained, it is absolutely "my truth".
Please do a middle ground between americans and english people. I think it would be super interesting because we are supposed "sister" countries but we are actually very different. For example guns, healthcare, laws, views on government etc
Only one thing in this irked me: Did we not all learn the difference between a fact and an opinion in 3rd grade? You can't just assert any random thing as a fact and then say it's "your truth."
Ikr, i have no respect for them just because they were "peaceful and calm" in this debate doesn't mean anything, that should be common sense. Beyond them being kind, they ignore literally every good point the liberals gave and still ran with their made up version of reality
@@Etomia although i agree, you also need to realise that ppl assert their opinions as truth all the time eg. when we make policies towards, let's say, climate change, ppls opinions on how to manage that are required to make the policies. Nothing was ever solved in history by being offended and ignoring/avoiding topics that make you uncomfortable like abortion, free speech, legalizing marijuana etc. it’s feels like when either party doesn’t agree with something they want to censor it from media and schools but I don’t think that does anything to solve the issue.
@@brandipityha9457 that’s very true sometimes. That guy had a fair point when he said you’d be surprised the amount of our generation that gets their news solely from social media but the thing is that all mainstream media outlets have an incredibly prevalent bias and there’s really not many places that we can get an opinion off that feel objective and free of bias and that’s the problem with it
The problem is any source, including social media has bias. Social media is literally engineered to give you content you want to see! The problem is any source, including social media has bias. Social media is literally engineered to give you content you want to see! As an Asian and a Liberal who voted Biden , I'm gonna put my biases aside and I can definitely say that Conservatives are really silenced way more , it's really hard to find a Conservative voice in many places and most of em don't really show their Conservative side over the backlash they might get 🙄

@Redsiren that’s completely not true, I understand why u think that, but the media only covers the bad ppl because the news outlets are main left wing
Agreed
Before I even watch this, I believe conservatives are censored more and I'm as liberal as they come. But I do think in some cases the censorship comes from the stigma that comes with it. The racism, sexism, and lgbtqia hate is what's being censored. The question is, should it?
Also, some conservatives are censored before they get a chance to speak and are immediately attacked for an opinion that's not rooted in hate or offensiveness
Democrats are majority racist. Also none of the people on here are conservatives.
@@jmailmonopolis6296 lol sure
"He [Alex Jones] was right about the frogs, though."
I CAN'T
Look it up lol it’s kinda awesome. There was a chemical in the water that caused the frogs to grow female characteristics.
its called atrazine(herbicide), which feminized frogs(in a study) and caused male frogs to become feminized and copulate with other male frogs. Those are also called xenoestrogens and affect the endocrine system and are possibly, among other chemicals, a reason for lower sperm count rates today.

Its pretty fitting they don't. Women don't have a proper voice in the party anyways
@@jessemavis7177 Lmao, Candice Owens? There’s actually a lot of female conservatives out there, and a lot of them are African American.
@@aus-li Female African American Conservatives is an extremely small percentage of Conservatives. Vast Majority of conservatives are white men
@@aus-li That is definitely not true. Black women in the republican party are very much a minority.
@@sam-ls7cp Of course it’s “extremely small”, they’re minorities. It doesn’t change the fact that blacks and other minorities make up a portion of the conservatives, which the media obviously doesn’t show. Candice Owens being a “leader”, representing the conservative side proves that.

Free speech doesn't equate to being free from consequence.
Exactly
Edit: and anyone should judge it objectively and not swayed by their emotion or mere group pressure, else some major power will snowballed and unchallenged.
true people keep forgetting that!
That also means anyone can hold any idea, even if it is horrific. They can face consequences, but its pretty simple. You censor it, it gets worse. Even if they hold that idea, if you push it away from a space that allows everyone to talk about it, then it forces people into a bubble, and boom, their ideas become entrenched.
Who's giving out the *consequences* though?
Exactly, Twitter banning you isn't suppressing free speech. It's just either a shitty TOS, or a deliberate shittty interpretation of it, or both. Twitter has every right to ban anyone because they are a private company and they own their platform. It's best to just boycott Twitter.
