Maybe a bit too early but Sharks look like they might've gotten the best defensive man in this 2024 draft with Dickinson who fell all the way to the #11 overall pick. Thru 23 games in the OHL he has 13 goals & 27 assists and he's the only defense man in the top 10 in terms of points scored in OHL right now ranking 4th currently just a handful of points below potentially two of the top 3 or 4 picks in the 2025 draft in Misa and Martone. Sharks had a potential franchise changing 2024 1st round with him and of course Celebrini who is living up to the hype as the clear cut #1 pick in this past draft as he's playing great with 8 goals & 5 assists in 14 games.
Good breakdown! Kraken do need a defenseman bad in their prospect pool. What’s interesting is that Francis prioritized bigger defensive d-men in the expansion draft, while prioritizing smaller but offensively potent d-men in the normal draft so far. Which direction he’ll take, we don’t know!
As a Devils fan, I want Dickinson. Hoping he's still there at 10. Levshunov is gonna go to Chicago or Anaheim, but after that it will be interesting as to who goes where. However it is hard to see him slipping past Seattle. I think Seattle goes D at 8 and I think that the only way for him to pass on him is if multiple guys listed in this video are available. With Silayev not having the same offensive ceiling and with him being Russian, can't see them taking him over Dickinson. You probably need to hope they fall in love with either Buium or Parekh's offensive upside. Calgary makes the nostalgia pick and goes Tij Iginla at 9, and boom, he's right there for us.
Thanks for the analysis. I am fully expecting Chicago to select Levshunov (although I want Demidov with Bedard more than I want oxygen). I prefer Dickinson's game but I dont see Chicago selecting him at 2, if we were drafting 4th then he would be my pick.
Honest question. What makes you rank lev over top of buium? As far as I can see, the only clear advantage he has is physicality. Offensively buium looks much better, defensively I’ve seen lev make many more mistakes than buium does, they are both listed 6’2 (admittedly heights could be wrong). Also buium has shined at the highest levels available, world juniors and frozen four, when lev wasn’t at either. I really like lev but just don’t get why people are low on buium
Stunned you’ve got Silayev 5th… so much more upside than Parekh, particularly in Seattle… and I might have even put Yakemchuk ahead of Parekh. If the Kraken have a shot at Silayev, Dickenson, or even Yakemchuk…. take ‘em.

This is the first scouting report ive listened to without nodding out. Good job D.
I love when you do NHL draft content!! Great breakdowns of their games
Thanks!
Yes I needed this thank you Dylan. The ECH community appreciate you and RJ so much
Are you doing any more of these for the 2024 draft? Your 2023 breakdowns were the best I found.
As an Utah fan, this is super pertinent. Very well done. Thank you!
You are welcome!
The top 6 D. They live in my head rent free. When I dream about levshunov, I wake up full dickinson. Seattle is so lucky to get one at 7 congrats
I’m sure future Hockey Hall of Famer and Mayor of Bellevue Zeev Buium will forgive being ranked below Dickinson eventually. Time heals most wounds.
I will apologize personally the first chance I get 😂
I can’t wait for for mock draft

I loved it
Damnnn, the Sharks came out of this draft with Celebrini AND Dickinson…. 😳
I really, really like Levshunov's potential if the right team drafts him
sadly hes the only one I see us having no shot of getting at 8
He's going to Anaheim or Chicago.

Maybe not “much” better offensively but definitely put up more points and looked more dynamic
Good morning
Morning!

Seattle needs offense.
Seattle needs to stop getting pushed around like a PWHL team.
