Rather than talk about important items like reliability, safety, comfort, cost, depreciation, build quality, and durability you spend most of the time talking about the touch screen, Apple carplay, button placement, map integration, and the stereo. You're buying a car, not a computer on wheels!!

i owned a 2021 and then traded it in for a 2023 gtpe and on neither of them I have ever had the system default to blasting heat (had 22k miles on the 2021 at trade in and almost 5k miles on the 2023 gtpe). One note for anyone looking into this or even another EV i recommend getting the awd I personally think it helps so much with the added weight of the batteries in all aspects from starting stopping and drive feel.

I’m about to pick one up with the exact same spec (white on white, Premium trim), BUT with AWD.
Also 2021, and only 11,500 miles on it (yes, 3yrs old and only 11k miles).
Looks and feels brand new, but costs a whole lot less than when new. No accidents, local vehicle.
Had a great long (~50mi) test drive today, city and hwy, used BlueCruise and everything worked great. Mint condition.
Also test drove the Ioniq 5 (2022 with 8k miles) and ID4 (new 2023) in the last 10 days. Mach-E hands down the best value for a fully loaded used EV. On new ones for 48 months, 0.99% lease rates are offered as well.

Funny enough, a week or two later ended up getting a 2022 white long range awd Tesla Model Y at a great deal ($32k).
Tried to stay away from the Tesla as everyone has it, but love the gigantic 3 trunk spaces, large screen and the software is amazing.

My first 10,000 was pretty similar, but I would add that PAAK is still a mess. It sometimes takes me 4-5 pushes of the door button to open the door, and about 1-2 times per month I get the dreaded “no key detected” and have to enter my very long back-up passcode. It does ride very stiff so look elsewhere if you want comfort. Bluecruise struggles to stay in the center of the lane and constantly bounces back and forth. It also gets very close to other cars causing me to keep my hands on the wheel. Sensors need major improvement. Lastly, my lights occasionally stay on long after my car was turned off. Apparently, Ford has released a bulletin on this, so my dealer has ordered me a new light control switch. Other than that, it’s really fun to drive!

I love my 2022 Mach-E, that UI update is a game-changer, once they added the ability to use the volume knob to control the temperature, fan speed, and heated seats there's no need to even take your eyes off the road when driving.
One note to this video, the Mach-E unfortunately only qualifies for a $3,750 tax credit because the batteries are made outside of North America.
It's an amazing car though, I also overpaid for mine (although it was after Ford intervened so "only" 5K over) because unfortunately we all overpaid for cars in 2022; aside from that, zero regrets, I've had it for almost a year and I find it as fun and exciting today as I did the day I bought it.

I have a 2021 First Edition Mach-E and its probably the best car ive ever owned. But i do have all the latest Sync software updates and they really make a big difference to the daily user experience, so i hope you get it soon on yours. Also, when you take it in for service, be sure to ask the dealer to "Use FDRS to update the BCM snd GFM modules to the latest version, then run the routine to add the front trunk release soft button to the Sync screen". This is not coming OTA to the 2021s and dealers will not do it by default unless you ask. This will not only give you a frunk trunk open button on your screen, but will enable you to use an F150 Lightning key fob to pop open the frunk remotely. I just did this and it makes using the frunk so much easier.

Agreed. Ford has underpromised and over delivered. Of course, it all depends on conditions and style. I want to do long term testing but I routinely get an indicated range of 350 or more (up to nearly 400) at full charge. Most days I’m driving in town Uber or Lyft trips w lots of coast and brake at moderate speeds. Very little hiway driving. My cal route 1 r/w drive is perfect for local tripping. Get on the interstate at speeds of 70+, watch the electrons drain quick.

61k for a RWD Ford is ridiculous. If Ford is wondering why they are not selling then they just need to look at that one sentence. No sane person would pay that markup. Even the price without markup is too high. It's not large, it's got crappy range, it's a first gen of a vehicle from someone not known for reliability on first gen stuff. Just buy nearly anything else and use the money saved for gas. Sell that "anything else" in five years. You likely drove for free with that money saved and it will be worth more than a used Mustang EV at that point.

Blue Cruise is completely useless and pointless unless you want to pay more for a vehicle and insurance. The giant screen is gross and integrating most functions into it is frustrating. This fad needs to end ASAP! The interior is mediocre which is typical for Ford, and at this price is a letdown. This needs a full redesign.

@@chuckm260you’re right but there’s too much time involved for finding a dealer thst will honor MSRP. It will take hours to go through negotiations and then finance, to truly validate they don’t f u at other aspects and get a Ford at MSRP. Most will f u at other parts of the deal. By the time you find it out, you’re already 4-5 hours into it. It’s much more convenient to get a cheaper, faster, Tesla at a click of a button. The Mustang Mach E seems like a great car but it’s not that much better to deal with dealer antics in a seller’s market. Once the market cools off, it might be a different story

    • @chuckm260
      @chuckm260 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@ItsAlive111 - Yea, I hear ya about the time investment and headache of going to a dealership. I dread it! But TBH, the combination of Ford's "semi" direct sales approach to the Mach-E and my own leg work made the process nearly painless - about an hour. In addition to them guaranteeing no ADM, I made sure by getting that in writing. Then I found out about getting a membership to the Mustang Club of America that carries a benefit that qualifies members for IIRC the X-plan pricing, which means they have to sell the vehicle at MSRP plus some nominal admin fee, like $150. Sweet! I also kept the deal simple with no trade-in, no extra / extended warranties or any other extra B.S. Ford Financing even beat my local credit union's and bank's new car loan rate by offering 0.9% !!! (Yea, this was a couple of years ago :). And now I have multiple brick-and-mortar places at my disposal for any warranty / recall / repair work I need. Fortunately so far I haven't need any work done. While lately I've been reading articles on how Tesla owner's are waiting even longer these days for parts and repairs - anywhere from a few months to a year. That's nuts! Anyhow, I have nothing against Tesla, the car styling just is not for me.
I was shocked how simple / convenient it was to purchase the Mach-E. Granted I had a pre-order submitted the day they reveal and was pretty close to the front of the line. Admittingly, I have no idea how things are going at Ford dealerships today but my experience at the time was surprisingly straight forward and nearly headache free. And from what I could tell reading the forums I wasn't alone in that experience. Of course one mileage will vary as I read about some purchases that didn't go that smoothly but IMO that's to be expected especially since this was virtually a new purchase paradigm for Ford.
