  • The ARB Twin has been the top performer for air compressors but how does the new Morrflate 10-6 PSI Pro compare at under half the price? I also show you how I install the Morrflate in my Jeep Gladiator Rubicon for airing up tires after being off-road.

    ❤ "I'm crazy pumped about this" 😂... A no brainer with a digital display which you can set the psi and it shuts off. Love it!
    We picked up a portable ARB w/air tank on FB marketplace last year for a killer deal. Heavy bugger and I wish it had a gauge. Had been waiting for Napa to get the Max Trac back in. (Never happened)
    Also wanted to thank you for sharing the J.T. Brooks Pro Adjustable deflators. Just go my set today. Just made sense. Was looking at the Apex which are extremely fast. Make sense for high tire pressure ie 75psi. My factory psi is only 32 so to drop to 18 will take as long to walk around 4 tires. I also liked the Staun with factory setting is 18 psi, not bad for most wheeling. If you need to make changes them the steps involved require a bit of time. Win win for J.T. Brooks Pro.
    Thank you, thank you, thank you! For share these cool practical devices 😊

    Thanks for the review. I have a Smittybilt 5.65 air compressor that is portable. It gets hot after inflating 4 tires but has never shut down because I can inflate all 4 tires in about 10 minutes including time to connect and disconnect each tire. I should probably get another hose and connectors to inflate at least two tires at one time. Your video shows me that 5.65 should be able to do that and it would run for maybe half the time which means longer life. I do like the portability but it takes up space in the back of my Wrangler. I do keep it with me at all times. What good is having an air compressor if it is in the garage when I decide to go off road and explore an interesting trail.

  • @ft4dt
    @ft4dt 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Just a couple things to consider when comparing these two compressors to one another.
    The MoreFlate is very much the same as many of the "other" china 60mm twin compressors rated at 300L. Which is 10.6cfm @ 0 psi. MoreFlate does provide a 30psi rating as well, which is 6.5cfm. And that will be under the best of conditions. Minimal air flow resistance from hose and connectors.
    ARB does also provide flow ratings as well. 6.16CFM at 0psi and 4.65CFM at 29psi. The advantage could still be leaning toward the MF twin. Hoses selection will likely determine which is quicker.
    On that, the SpeedFlate 4 tire inflater looks to have much better splitters and 1/4 ID traditional style air hose. While the Kracken uses completely different hose. Which they state is 3/8, which it is, but it is 3/8 OD. It is actually 1/4" ID as well. The quick connect splitters are very flow restricted though. Which is one of the reasons why the ARB was slower to refill your tires compared to the MF Twin.
    It might be better to compare the fill times using the same air hoses to get a better comparison. And while you are at it, two additional recommendations. High Flow Quick Connects and 3/8 ID air hose. Fittings are where the air flow typically gets restricted the most.
    Last thing. I know you have quite a bit of LifePo4 battery in the back of your Gladiator along with a good sized Inverter. This would allow you to use a Twin Cylinder 110V compressor. California Air Tools (SP-9421) is a 2HP model that flows 6.40 CFM @ 40 PSI. It's considerably quieter at 70db. And at $285 is very reasonably priced as well.

      Love our speedflate 4x system. Although I have an older unit from when they first got going and really need to update the chuck to the style they use now. The single pawl holding the chuck on just isn't as ideal as the style TJ is currently using.

    • @mrmotofy
      @mrmotofy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Testing has been done and with the air hose size and tire valve restrictions the hose makes no difference. The 1/4" hose can flow way more than a tire can take. In tools etc yes it's a noticeable difference

    • @wanglee21
      @wanglee21 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Even the ARB uses Chinese parts. There are videos where people opened them up. Also even on the ARB factory box is says it uses Chinese parts. So you guys talking about Chinese parts are hilarious because you are still promoting Chinese products with ARB. It's just assembled in Australia instead of China and use some other components from Australia. Its like saying an Acura isnt a Japanese car because it may use some different components made in America but everything else is the same.
      I use to work for a manufacturing plant and usually they source their parts from China or other countries but usually have more strict regulation for quality control. In China, Mexico, and a lot of other countries they allow for passable components. Therefore you may get a hit or miss on some of the off brands.

    *Speed isn't everything.* In my book it's not even all that important, but I will admit it's nice. A big question is the difference in quality and longevity between the two manufacturers. I also use my ARB Twin (mounted out of the way under the passenger seat) to run my air lockers. *IF* the ARB Twin lasts longer, then that reduces the likelihood my lockers won't work due to a compressor failure. My Twin has been running like a champ for over 5 years and is still going strong. One should think we'd have to see how long this model typically lasts before we can draw any final conclusions.

    Nice video but i think your missing a major item is the ARB is 100% duty cycle the morrflate is 50%. The FLA is also about 30% lower. Perhaps due to moving more air. Also while reading morrflate website it says to use the 4 tire inflation to avoid back pressures on the compressor. They are giving you a warning because of a known problem? There is a use for everything. I personally like having 100% duty cycle. I dont need to keep track of how long the compressor has run for or cool down times when filling my tire or others. I personally have filled a wheel loader tire with my ARB cause it was the only compressor on the job site.

    • @OzarkOverlandAdventures
      @OzarkOverlandAdventures  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Considering I can air up my 38” tires in under 6 minutes, the Morrflate duty cycle of 20 minutes running and 10 minutes rest is irrelevant. I have no reason to run it longer than 20 minutes. It is specifically designed for 4 tire inflation systems which is why the warning.

    • @chrisjohnson6482
      @chrisjohnson6482 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You should use a 4way to get max airflow but it's not necessary if you get a flat or something. They just call it out because people kept using single hoses to compare them to other compressors and it would skew the results.

    • @johnroberto5248
      @johnroberto5248 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @chrisjohnson6482 the morrflat can technically inflate a single tire at a time however a single tire valve cannot allow 10cfm through so this causes back preasure on the compressor leading to extra heat build up and a shorter duty cycle. It states on the product listing that if you are inflating a single tire you should only run for 2 minutes then give a 1 minute break and repeat until the tire is full. Failing to follow duty cycles can kill the pump. As advertised in this video it will likely work great but only of the key reasons for the ARBs price Tag is 100% duty cycle meaning it can run a wider variety of applications reliably then just a 4 tire inflation system

    All Gladiators have at least 4 bed plugs to run wires through. You do not have to drill into your bed to run wires.
    Just remember the rate at which the tires inflate is always going to be limited by the schrader valve. A schrader valve will give you a flow of 9.3 CFM at 14psi, the flow will drop off as the inside pressure gets closer to the supply pressure. He is right by filling multiple tires at once. It's a waste just filling 1 tire. At least this one puts out more cfm than the ARB. I'm always weary of numbers given by manufacturers though. Better to get an independent test done. That way you know the exact numbers.

Duty cycle would also be worth mentioning, especially since the Moorflate website states "You can still air up a single flat if you need to, but the duty cycle dwindles to 2min doing 1 tire at a time".
