I'd love to know how you choose your colors for your palette! Do you use the seiken densetsu screenshot for them?

I pick colors by hand, based on self experience and references. I use a shared Dark color that's usually visible on top of pure black, then I create 4 color palettes. I adjust the levels of those 4 color picking them between the Dark color and pure White (but never use White itself, it's just for balancing). I use game screenshots as visual reference only. For these videos, I create the palette before recording, since it's a boring part. That's all!

Have you guys ever heard of, or ever used, Crocotile 3D? It's a 3D engine specifically geared towards, like, HD2D-style game assets (or, like, Mega Man Legends-style) stuff and is really streamlined versus other 3D Programs like Blender or 3DS Max since it's JUST about that. It is ONLY about creating 3D from 2D Pixel Art tilemaps. Here's a video on it; th-cam.com/video/rFiTRDXM9YU/w-d-xo.html
I just think it would be really neat to toss a tileset like this into there and see you guys mess with it to turn your scenes into 3D sometime. Or if you like it, maybe even use it for a future game.
At any rate, awesome video as always! I love your pixel art style and it's really neat to see it applied to tiles instead of characters here! Thanks for showing it off, and for getting me into a '90s club mood, lol. 😄
