I live in California for the past 32 years… I’ve only spent 1 Christmas and NY in the Philippines once and we had a blast. Planning to go home next Christmas and experience NY there again 🎉❤🎉
early 2000 was the craziest. the fireworks starts around 7pm, gets crazy at midnight and ends around 4am. the night sky would turn red because of the smoke in the atmosphere. walking around the neighborhood is nearly impossible because of the thousands of firecrackers exploding nonstop on the street.
The Philippines 🇵🇭 celebrates the world's longest Christmas season with Christmas music played as early as August, the holiday season gradually begins by September, reaches its peak in December during Christmastide, and concludes within the week after New Year's Day; however, festivities may last until the third Sunday of January, the feast day of the Santo Niño. 🇵🇭 enjoy 🙏 ❤️

They all spend year round money to prepare and buy expensive firecrackers just for a memorable "moment" with their families and loved ones. According to one Blogger Jackie in the Philippines said it took more than 3 hours for those fire works and firecrackers to stop , this tradition is borrowed from Chinese migrant and Filipino Chinese in the Philippines it is believed that noises can drive away the evil spirits and misfortune of the previous year it not only firecrackers and fireworks but anything that can create loud noises like trumpets clanging of metal objects shouting and merry makers throw coins and shake their coin to produce sound that the coming year will attract prosperity the long hours of fire crackers and fireworks is filipino twist to the belief the filipinos love long celebration like long Christmas celebration that starts at BER month September to January feast of the Three kings so New year Eve also had a long firecrackers even in the early morning of New year you can still here firecrackers and some fireworks

It was a tradition. We as Filipinos believe that the loudest we have the more bad spirits will go away.
It is a tradition. Not, it was a tradition. It's still a tradition until now. Sheeeesh.🙄
