As a Filipino, I am among those who light fireworks and firecrackers in the streets to greet the New Year. And just this midnight when we all welcomed the New Year 2025, I had been lighting crackling fountains and Bengal lights while jumping up and down for the sheer joy of it while all around my house everyone is lighting fountains and rockets and even the occasional Sinturon ni Hudas, blasting on the streets while the clock strikes 12 midnight. Apparently, despite the relatively stricted government regulations and restrictions regarding firecrackers and fireworks, it seems that the notion of celebrating the New Year with riotous fireworks revelry in the streets is part of the Filipino DNA. Ah yes. CNN, BBC and other major news organizations focus on the New Year revelry and celebrations of other countries and major cities in the world, just like that Ball Drop in Time's Square in New York. But it seems that the Philippines is waay overlooked. Thank you Trifate for bringing your videos of how we Filipinos hail in the New Year and spreading it throughout the world.
