Great video and explanation of why you prefer your PC monitor over the C1 however for me PC gaming never completely satisfied me until I switched from my 27" PC gaming monitor to the 48" C1 as a PC monitor...now my PC gaming experience is like my console gaming experience but without having to choose between fidelity mode vs performance mode.
I love gaming on the C1 so much...it reminds me of my 10 year old 64" Samsung plasma but with better specs.
3 years ago I had switched my console gaming from the plasma to a 64" 4k HDR LED however now I moved both my PS5 and switch dock from the TV room to my desk, so all my gaming is in one location.
Sitting closer to the 48" C1 (in addition to it's superior picture quality and specs) makes up for going from a 65" TV to a 48" TV...
I point that out because screen size was the motivating factor why I switched from a 27" PC gaming monitor to a 48" TV used as a PC monitor, so it sounds as if I am contradicting myself by going from a 65" to a 48" TV.

I haven’t even watched this video yet, I am still on the ad page and paused the ad to write this. THIS video is EXACTLY what I needed. I came to TH-cam to find some comparisons of these exact two displays because I own the GP950 currently and love it but have wanted to play some story mode games with a little bit bigger of a display and I also want to know if the GP950 has bad brightness issues or what not. Whenever I play red dead on it, when it becomes night time I feel like I can’t see squat on my screen! I want to know if that’s a game issue or my display’s issue. Anyways, can’t wait to watch this video. It’s literally the exact video I came to find today and it just popped up on my discover page first thing! Love you man!

FYI a lot of games will let you move the UI elements closer to the center of the screen, just in case you weren't aware. You can typically do so by "adjusting the safe zone" in the settings or something similar. I think it is meant to compensate for overscan on old TVs, which is why it is called that. But it effectively just moves the UI elements closer to the center. Some games allow you to move it closer than others, but it is always worth doing if you find yourself struggling to see the UI.
Also other games might just have straight up UI adjustment settings, either way, always worth looking through the settings.

Great video and break down of the pros and cons of the C1 TV vs the LG UltraGear PC monitor and why you personally prefer the PC gaming monitor over the C1 TV.
    2 months ago I switched from a MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD 27" 1440p IPS 165Hz gaming monitor to a 48" C1 TV and I love it!!!
My PC gaming experience is now like console gaming but without having to choose between fidelity mode vs performance.
I do not play multiplayer so 120 fps is enough for me...what I love about the C1 are the size and quality of the picture.
I love gaming on the C1 so much that I moved both my PS5 and switch dock from my 65" 4k HDR LED in the tv room to my desk, so now all my gaming is in one location.
btw - I use a very large harvest dining room table as my desk so I have plenty of space for such a large monitor.

I have a C2. It needs to be mounted flat on the wall really, Also, my desk is about 60cm deep. But for me, it's perfect. It's just so beautiful. My 4k monitor with HDR looks nowhere near as good as this screen. Also, that display was 144hz and this is 120hz. I don't know how or why, but the frame rates are just so much smoother. Maybe thats a HDMI 2.1 vs Display Port thing... Those blacks do ALOT for image quality/clarity. I completely understand those who think it's too big though. It won't be to everyone's taste. But if you feel like you would enjoy this, you will most definitely not be disappointed.

      That's exactly what I did. The LG 48" C1 2021 model is about $900. After Nov 2022, the LG 42" C2
should be considerably marked down in price. And by that time, competitors will have their own

The unspoken advantage with the C2 with PC is the ability to game in windowed/borderless windowed mode. Just game at 1440p windowed mode if fullscreen at 4k is too big. You'll also have extra screen real estate for other apps like browser and other utilities. You really can't do this with a tiny 27" 4k screen since it's too small!

Thanks for a nice review. The key to succes doing FPS gaming on a TV like the C2 is to use a customer resolution and disable scalling so that it don't fill up the entire screen. Now, it will mean a bit lower resolution but no need to head turning to see that AWP guy hiding in Dust :)
You can also use something like LG Companion to automatically wake the monitor and put it to sleep as the computer does the same thing. That also solves the problem of the remove turning on all LG TVs in the room.

Bought the GP950 earlier today so I can finally play PC games at better specs than 1080p60. I stumbled upon the C2 during my search for the optimal monitor, and thought it could be a great additional display for console gaming should I be able to afford one in the future.
Glad to know I did choose a great monitor for desktop gaming, and that the C2 is indeed a magnificent OLED TV as shown by the specs :D

I got a 32" 1440p 165hz ips lg monitor that down samples 4k 60hz to 1440p and an LG CX 65" TV and I 100% prefer a monitor. Something about being close to the screen makes me way more into a game and look for the smaller details in them. For my setup 32" is a little to big and I'll probably go with a 27" when 4k 144hz monitors are more affordable. I honestly couldn't care less about the 4k part as I play everything in performance mode but I want vrr badly

Picked up a C2 a couple days ago. The quality of the picture is mind bogglingly fantastic. Absolutely blew my old 27in 1440 display away. In FPS gaming tho, it did seem too big. Ive started running a cropped resolution only during FPS gaming. That completely fixed my feeling of it being too big. Just feels like a huge ultrawide monitor while retaining all the OLED pros. Then I swap back to fullscreen for normal desktop use, media consumption, etc. My display also has a window about 10 feet directly behind it. Ive had blackout curtains for years that let zero light in when theyre closed and have no issues with glare. Cannot recommend this screen enough. To me it is an absolute must for any PC enthusiast.

The thing with smaller screen is you can VESA mount it and literally move it closer to your eyes, and it'll take up more of your vision. So even 27" panel can get more "immersive" this way. A bigger screen on the other hand, requires you to have a bigger desk if you want it to look smaller. But assuming that screen size don't matter, well, OLED is the way to go. It's simply a superior tech overall.

I totally agree about the relevance of the kind of games you play. I've tested many monitors for my PC setup, and ended buying a 48 C1.
I have a pretty big desk, and got my C1 wall mounted, so distances are not really an issue.
After all this monitors, and being able to confirm that (i) I don't play online very often and (ii) I play mostly RPG, racing, fighting and story driven games, the 48" C1 became the "forever monitor". And if I want to play on the couch, I go to my 55" C1.
With that TV setup I can move my consoles from my living to my desk and back.
I am now convinced that my "forever monitor" is not gonna be there forever, but only until the 42" C2 arrives to my country, but has been a superior partner.

I have the aorus fv43 currently for my pc console set up. I love this monitor but have been heavily debating switching it to the lg 42 c2. I absolutely love oleds and it being and inch smaller and the all around frame being smaller I might pull the trigger. I have a wide and very deep desk and use controller 80 percent of the time. I'm surprised you play fps titles at 60fps and not higher. It's hard for me to play fps at anything below like 90 but 60 is perfect for everything else. I might sell the aorus and scoop up the lg in the fall sales. I just love the contrast and clarity of oled but the qled panel in the aorus is damn good and doesn't get enough credit. Even has a remote so I don't have to fiddle with the knob.

In my opinion, the closer you sit to the 42" and larger monitors, I can see having to look from side to side, the larger the monitor the further you'll need to sit back from them. I have one of my gaming PCs hooked up to a 65" LG OLED first gen as I got it when they first hit the shelves, sitting back 10' from it makes it perfect.
I am currently putting together a sim-rig in which will have 3 42" LG OLED C2 monitors also as to why I am here, I wanted to see others opinions on these monitors as I have not yet unboxed them.
Another thing to keep in mind, when choosing large monitor, when it comes to a wide screen monitor, they are normally vertically challenged meaning their screen is not as tall as the normal monitors and some might want that taller screen so their eyes don't wonder off looking above the monitor.

I can't game on LCD panel anymore. Once you go OLED you never want to go back to any other screen
