U dont have to use it a lot. Maybe just pretty frequently when u need to use it. For example, if u met a Japanese person and u want to thank him for something, "Arigatou gozaimasu" with all the pronunciation and stuff right. Sadly I don't have any friends or anyone I know that is Japanese. So, I really can't apply Japanese to anything except when I'm talking to myself, which is pretty ok too. Right now, im not really learning anything. I kinda stopped. Maybe after a while when I at least know someone who is fluent at Japanese, then maybe I can go back to learning it.
Dont be in a rush. Learning hiragana and Katakana is easy. Take it easy. Because if you go too fast, you will realize that hiragana and katakana, even if they are important, they're just the smaller parts of the writing systems.... Just go slow and learn a lot of the basics in speaking + Hiragana and katakana.... and then kanji.... don't do it like I did. I went from Hiragana and Katakana with basically almost nothing on speaking to Kanji. Then, I lost all motivation. Although, now I know how to write and use some certain kanji so yeah.
Just so you know I could listen to this type of video any day. It's such a fun experience seeing someone do it. So exciting. I always wanted this type of video posted as a language learner myself
