Was wondering if the noods are able to be shorten/lengthened other than 130mm tip to tip.

Why not use "Electroluminescent Wire"? Product ID 410 ... 2.5 meters long and only $5.95 with 36 pcs in stock
AND power it with a wallwart using a "EL Wire Sound Activated Pocket Inverter 5V USB Power, PRODUCT ID: 831 ... 42 in stock ... $9.95"
Just an alternative method using adafruit parts.

@@adafruit Yep, I have all the needed supplies from a purchase of last year. Instead of a wallwart you can use a Portable Charger Power Bank which will allow you to place them where every you wish... even outside in a tree!. Also avoid cutting and splicing the 2.5M El wire by turning the wires 90 degree downward so it will pass through a mounting board and is not visible from the front
AND BEST OF ALL .. . NO SOLDERING REQUIRED.
