- Just when I think I'm out... I went ahead and picked up the new PS5 Slim model in the disc version. I'm unboxing the console, taking a first look, and talking about some interesting logistics in terms of why I bought it and how I'm planning to use it in the home theater setups. I really hope you enjoy Spider-Man 2 as much as I did. Or even more in that outstanding theater. I had the luxury of upgrading my entire speaker system to KEF and sub to SVS the month or two before the game launched and all it did was make the experience that much more incredible. I got the plat right away and now just waiting for a New Game+ update..
Nice! Turns out I might be waiting still though. Despite my aspirations, I'm already flip flopping on this again. More discussion to come.

Not rich, probably just works hard and homie is also ALWAYS flipping equipment. When you have acquired high quality equipment you really get to keep a lot of that resale value and makes stepping up to new equipment much much cheaper.
I do alright. :) Thanks! My prior PS5 that I didn't stick with, I've just returned or sold with no loss. Still deciding what to do with this one. I have some additional thoughts about PC after playing around with the PS5 this week.

I have a 4K TV at 60Hz, is that good enough for PS5? People keep saying I need 120Hz but so far no one can explain why, they just repeat what they heard others saying. You seem pretty knowledgeable so maybe you can explain it to me in simple terms?
No, you're solid at 4K 60. No games really run at 120 FPS on the console anyway with really ugly looking graphics settings. 120 HZ TV enables 40 FPS mode, which is a great way to play games on it; however, there's "need" to have a 120 Hz TV. Just run the games in 60 FPS performance modes, and you're good.

A PS6 in 2026 would be nice, but i think it will just be too soon. Especially if we get a PS5 Pro with options like "true" 4K @60fps. I think 2027 might be good for the announcement with the release in 2028. Of course, i would hope we get it sooner. But we have already seen these documents talking about the next generation PlayStation (6) & XBOX. Nintendo won't be making that i guess. Since they will come out with their own new system (apparently) next year.
As far as the online requirement for the PS5 disk-drive. This isn't Sony's fault but it's enforced by law to prevent piracy etc... So Sony HAS NOTHING to do with this! It is rather unfortunate for people who don't have access to the internet though. I think there should be some kind of agreements in those places where it is not possible to have access to the internet.
I'll watch you whatever you did. You are a developer? What do you code in? The PS5 Pro is the future. Watch Microsoft migrate x-boxers to Asus and OEMs selling PCs and XBOX game pass.

still gaming on an ps4 pro. sony hasnt given me enough incentive. i see the ps5 as the ps4 pro PRO. sure the storage speed is better and ps5, non ps4 exclusives, but that can all be attained later, especially when the ps5 pro comes out which i would get. maybe thats 2 years from now.I recommend the corsair mp600 pro or samsung 990 pro ssd w heat sink for speed for the ps5.
Did you upgrade the firmware in the 990 to get the increased speed? I have the 980 Pro and haven’t been successful with the upgrade.
