  • Hello everyone! I got lots of questions on how I found my apartment at a low price. In this video I share tricks I used to find a cheap apartment. This might not be for the person that needs structure, but it does ensure you get an apartment at a good price. I tried Zillow, Hotpads, and Apartments.com. My saving grace has been Facebook and Craigslist. Take a little bit of a risk, and you may just find a great deal!
    Let me know if you have any other tricks you've used in the past!

    It's so real. Unfortunately, some of my friends (almost) fell for scams, when folks were looking for cheap rent. So agreed on following your gut, and not going forward with sketchy situations.

      Yes! Honestly so many scammers out there. If anything seems sketch, I run.

      @@ProudMillennial same me, different account. Yep - it was a Craigslist find. I just stayed open minded, had a clear sense of how I wanted to FEEL at the new place, and from that, I was led by my gut in all of the online apartment hunting, conversations, and meetings. Really loving my new place.

    I'm currently looking for a place and I hate that so many places require a credit check even when you show proof that you can pay. I lived upstate NY and landlords don't really ask for that.

    If this isn’t too intrusive, what’s the range of your credit score for the place you live now? I love your apartment SO much and I’m trying to move towards this area since I have a new job in silver lake! I want a studio so bad but the only places I can find in this price range is in ktown😭 it’s 3am rn and searching for apartments have become my night routine lol. My credit is at 692 currently which isn’t awful but I know a lot of places want 700 so I’m not sure if it’s a lost cause. If you have any info or insight please let me know! Thank you so much :)

    • @ProudMillennial
      @ProudMillennial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LoveeBug14 if you have previous history of renting and have good prof of income you should be fine. 692 isn’t bad. A few years ago I definitely had a lower score and still was able to get an apartment

    • @LoveeBug14
      @LoveeBug14 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Proud Millennial thanks for the response! I don’t have previous rental history, I’m moving out of my parents house. I stayed home while paying for college, but I do have a good stable income! So I’m hoping that PLUS offering to pay an additional month or 2 of rent will make my application stronger. We’ll see!
