@@dietotaku yeah that's the tough thing. People who have pain tend to cause other people pain. Sure it's nice to be around someone who understands you. But the fact that they understand you makes it easy for them to manipulate you and hurt you. They might isolate you and make you dependent on them making you feel like you have no one else in the world that cares about you except them. And that person having been through so much probably doesn't do well with conflict. An example (a very extreme example) being them dropping down into a depressive state of mind and talking about harming or killing themselves every single time things are bad between you. You get into a fight or even if you try very gently to talk about things that are bothering you about them they immediately talk about self harm or suicide. I'm sure this sounds horrible and that's because it is. And if you think I'm making it up I am not. I lived through this and wasted 2 years of my life on someone like this. Finally ending things with him for good was the greatest and hardest decision I ever made.
That's why now I encourage people to look for someone better than themselves in a sense. Someone who sees you for who you are and doesn't judge you or make you feel bad BUT also pushes you to be better, helps you have a more positive way of going about things and never lets you give up. The guy I'm with now is like that and I wish I got with him a long time ago. But it's never too late to find your perfect partner. But just remember it's not enough for someone to understand you, they have to want the best for you too.

The first bride was so gorgeous that I am sure she looked fabulous in every dress she tried on. The one she chose was really special. The second bride had a sass and sparkle to her personality. It showed in her dress choice...and those shoes!
I LOVE the 2nd bride, the "over 29" woman. She's obviously middle aged. this may be a 2nd wedding for her. and her dress is bridal but not "bride in her early 20s" the style us incredibly flattering and she looks like someone who is REALLY going to have fun at her wedding.
I like it because it's very pretty but also really practical. You could dance the night away in that dress
I love it because I see it as a “universal dress,” meaning that you can still style it, be caught wearing it many times, and still get your money’s worth long after the wedding’s over.

I also struggle with anxiety, so I can totally relate to the first bride. I am so glad that she finally found a dress that she absolutely loves and she looked stunning. 💗
I think this is my favorite episode! I cried when the bride did. Every girl deserves that feeling when finding her dress! And the 2nd woman... I'm over 29, LOL, loved that!!

Has anyone else noticed that the SYTTD Atlanta episodes have the largest entourage with them? Next would be Kleinfelds in New York, but very small houps in England and Australia. The 1st bride is a good example of how I'd feel if I were choosing a wedding dress. I'm glad she found a beautiful, flattering dress she felt connected to.
I'm on my 2nd marriage (25 yrs) but during both times shopping for a dress just my mom went with me. The 2nd time I got married I had 3 little girls & now I regret not taking them with me. But back then it wasn't a thing to take a bunch of people wedding dress shopping.
Its something that is known to be in the south. Makes for way to much drama.

I enjoy seeing these brides find their dresses but the process is something I can’t relate to. When I got married I had an idea of what I wanted for a dress, I looked through all the bridal magazines, picked the one closest to my vision, went to the shop that sold it, tried it on and ordered it. Maybe I took one of my bridesmaids with me. I didn’t have a big entourage and I only tried on the one dress. But maybe I was just lucky.
@@MLMLW At Kleinfelds I've only seen six people in an entourage lately (average). But in the south I've seen groups of up to 30. England rarely has more than 3-4.
See I think the problem is the over emphasis on “the moment”. I didn’t have a ‘moment’ when I decided on my wedding dress but I knew it was my dress.

I can relate to wanting the bridal moment:
I went to 3 bridal stores and tried on over 30 dresses, but did not have “the moment.”
I was starting to believe the bridal moment did not actually exist and I would have to settle for a dress that I liked but did not love.
But, it was actually my mom that did not let me settle and said we should go to the other bridal stores to look.
In the 4th store I went to, I saw this dress hanging up immediately when I walked in. It had all the elements I wanted and as soon as I walked out and looked in the mirror I just knew. It was the first dress I said I loved. I even tried on a couple others to make sure it was not just a spur of the moment thing. I just wanted to put my dress back on.
This is a message to everyone!
Do not force it, you will know!
I am sorry but I don't understand the anxiety about the wedding dresses. I bought the first one I liked and tried on. It is just a dress, most of your guests will never remember it and you will not think about it either on the next day after the wedding. What is important is to choose the perfect fiancé

When I got married I knew exactly what I wanted & found it at the first bridal shop I went to, but it was my mom who said no & that I needed to try on more dresses. I went to another shop & tried on a couple of other dresses but ended up going back to the first shop & getting the dress I wanted from the beginning.

If your having anxiety attacks... it's a good sign your not ready to get married!!
Not always some people just have really bad anxiety over the little things.
That "moment" had eluded me all my life and they're is very very little chance of it ever happening. So I get kind of teary eyed watching these
Likewise. I think it’s a matter of personality. I tend to be pretty pragmatic, and also very anxious. I would feel a lot of anxiety if I felt the pressure to « feel something » In that way, I kind of relate to this first bride… For a wedding specifically, it also depends how you see the event I think. If it’s supposed to be the best day of your life, well, the pressure is on and you probably want everything to be significant. Like your dress…
When I picked my dress I was alone, I tried it, but didn't pay for it, I didn't have that aha moment (didn't know it's a thing either :D ). After a few days I brought my mom and sister to the same shop without telling them about the dress I like. Even when I tried it again I didn't have that aha moment, I just liked how it showed my figure. outside the fitting room both my mother and my sister started crying when they saw me wearing it, only then I felt the aha moment!

That length is tea length. It’s not personally my cup of tea (hehe no pun intended) but I was recently at a wedding where the bride had a tea length dress and it seemed like it was really easy to move and dance in.

Definitely strange the lady had the bottom of her dress completely hacked off and it did look pretty decent! It was an odd length choice. Maybe she was concerned about tripping over a full length gown? It became pretty Marilyn Monroe looking after the alterations, but that's not a bad thing at all

Friend, bride, almost all the crew look so similar, the hairstyle 🤨 Ok, just the first impression.
In the other hand, I can't imagine the stress brides can feel choosing a dress despite I can identify how the struggles about feeling beautiful can complicate everything. This bride definitely was gorgeous in the mermaid dresses, looked elegant and modeling. Great to see a mother being wonderful, understanding it's her daughter's moment and supporting her decision.
The second bride chose a lovely dress and fortunately the crew reacted great, thinking in her and not in personal tastes or impressions.
I think once the dress is chosen and delivered it's really poor form as a support crew member to say it sucks. I mean you can suggest manageable alterations but you can't say you hate it overall because it's too late. But in reference to your first point the wedding industry has created this artificial concept on "feeling that moment" in a dress so every girl feels she has to have it or she's not doing it the right way.
I was thinking the same thing about the bridesmaids and sisters, and the bride.

I know, right? It didn't look good at all. I keep saying she needed to cut it off a little shorter - more of a midi length than a tea length. She was too short for that cut. Or she should have just kept it long. I'm short as well (5'4") & I don't look good in tea length dresses.

not every bride gets "the feeling" in her dress. my moment was more "yep, this'll work" than "omg this is MY DRESS!" i had a color scheme, i wanted my dress to have a bit of that color in it, and my budget was "as cheap as humanly possible." i found a dress that ticked the boxes, tried it on in store and yep, that'll do. i probably could've searched high and low for a dress that brought me to tears, but i wouldn't have been able to afford it so i just went with what i could get.
I think tea length dresses on 'over 29' brides are perfection.
To involve so many people in trying to help you choose a dress is just anxiety producing

It can happen. I started dating my eventual husband at the age of 15 and we got married when I was 18 I should have waited until 21 though!! But we had a fairly successful marriage and three kids until he unfortunately passed away from ALS when he was 38.

@@jscho8674 Yeah.. it was hard because no doctors wanted to believe one so young would be terminally sick out of the blue.. nobody wanted to help us. They said his issues were all in his head at the hospitals and doctors. I had to get mad and demand he be treated and find what was wrong. Finally we found a good doctor towards the end and got referred to Mayo Clinic but it was too late. His diagnosis came about a month before he died. Lawyers could not help me afterwards either to go after the doctors who ignored him.. those doctors have so many protections we cant do anything if they neglect or ignore our loved ones.

I really wonder how the dresses are sorted and what key do the staff use to find what they´re looking for. There are sooooo many categories. Size, price, shape, style, sleeves/no sleeves, neckline shape, ....plain, beads, lace, ballgowns, mermaid... etc...etc.... and their endless combinations....

It's a big NO on the 2nd bride's dress. Sorry but she's petite and that length wasn't flattering on her. It needed to be shorter if that's the look she was trying to achieve. The dress itself was pretty, just not the right length for that bride.
