How to Draw on Black Paper - Black Dog Pitt Pastel Pencil Tutorial

Drawing on black paper can achieve some really striking results with only a few materials. In this tutorial I'm using Faber-Castell Pitt Pastel Pencils to draw a dog portrait. I'm using 5 colours but you could even just use black and white.

Are you using pastel sanded paper? If not, I don't see how the pastel will stay on the paper too well.

I love my Pitt Pastel pencils but ugh the sharpening ☹️ When oh when will somebody invent a pastel pencil sharpeners that works?!
