If they had Bill's weapons they'd easily outgun bandits like this and this situation could have been over in seconds. Then just dump the guns you cant use. Or exchange them for goods if the chance arose. Bad move.
just dumb movie plot man. Joel in the movie series could just take an AR-15 load with good optic and couple 30 rounds mag, check carefully before bring it with him and that gun would have last him for all the trip. But nah, let's just bring this trusty bolt action rifle with me. P/S: In the TLOU game, Bill only gave Joel a shotgun.
@@TeitokuGaming the world ends in 2003 in the show, that's peak assault weapon ban. AR-15s were not nearly as common for civilians as they are today. @@jackmcfarlane7173 2003 was peak time for ammunition manufacturing worldwide- both military and hunting versions of the major cartridges. 5.56x45 and it's more powerful brother hunting cartridge .223 Remington, and 7.62x51 NATO Miltary which is weaker than the hunting grade .308 Winchester were all still in heavy production and things were ramping up as two key things had happened 9/11/2001 and thus the Afghan and Iraqi Wars were being prepp'd for and the 1994 AWB was sunsetting and with a Republican President and a Republican Congress AWB 1994-2004: NOT TODAY YOU JACKBOOT NAZI'S. It was more of a stupid point of media anti-AR Propaganda that has been in a lot of media in the last 10 years. When "THE STAND" was remade Stu- the guy who escapes the laboratory- he could have taken his pick of AR's but he takes a 5rd max bolt gun, whereas in original Stu grabs an AR and doesn't let the door hit his butt on the way out. TLOU:HBO was pure anti-AR propaganda that the soldier in E01 kills Joel's daughter with an AR and Joel sees the AR as "No bueno". But it doesn't bother him to swipe a Ruger 556 and go to town on the last of the fireflies about to pop the lid on Ellie's cranium. TLOU:HBO had Pedro Pascal and Mormont Girl so it was going to do well, regardless of whether it was really that good or not. The Bill episode was all I enjoyed and if it had been 100% Bill and Frank I could not have been more overjoyed as I felt it was the only episode to tell a story to any degree of fruition.
@@jackmcfarlane7173 I think something was said about using guns with more commonly found rounds was said as well. Not everyone has 556 but shotgun shells and hunting rounds would be more common the further you got from a city, as well as most pistol ammo
But even if they used the guns from Bill's, the car would still be out of commission and it would be annoying to carry several assualt rifles/pistols around the city. And the last thing you'd want to do is have other bandits find the wreck and arm themselves with assualt rifles. I'm assuming in an apocalyptic world, it'd better to just stick to the guns you have the most experience with especially since ammo for rifles is more common according to Joel.

I really hate how weak Joel feels here. In the game, he gets subdued from behind by one of the hunters while he's regaining consciousness from the car accident, the guy slams his head into a glass and then tries to push his head into a sharp glass to slit his throat, and Joel, despite still being half-unconscious and in a terrible position to wrestle, still overpowers the guy, knocks him out with one punch, and pushes him into the glass the guy was going to stab him with. th-cam.com/video/Js59biTfIzk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=abFGukrnH0oYCgYf However, here he loses ridiculously to a guy who's skinnier than him.
If you can see the tire spikes on the road before you, it's already too late. By the time you see them, they've already snuck up behind you and spiked the road back too. It's a common practice for ambushes. Can't go back, can't go forwards. You're pretty fucked. Wouldn't be a good ambush if they left such an obvious avenue of escape wide open like that.
It’s over we’re not fighting anymore , it’s sad how desperate the kid is but it’s kinda funny to me just because like they literally just tried to brutally murder them and he’s just like “time out time out”
to the people who are going to ask about why didnt joel take the AK, you clearly werent paying attention in the beginning where he burried it because there wasn't a lot of bullets for it out in the wasteland which makes sense.
@@baneofbanes that doesn't really matter when it isnt being mass produced. sure some new ammo was being made but it was very scarce. Ammo runs out fast
One of the biggest problems with this adaptation is how scared they were to showcase how violent the world is. They had to give everyone motivations that could be argued on whether or not they're justified, and REALLY cut back on the brutality. Like this part of the game is one of if not the hardest chapter because of how dangerous the city is and how repulsive the men who have gained control of it are. I also hate how they switched up the seasons, for what I can only assume was budgetary reasons(which is bullshit lmao), because in the game Pittsburg has been abandoned for years and is completely overgrown and falling apart and it looks BEAUTIFUL
So according to Hollywood, when someone is shot they immediately drop on the ground and play dead. But when there's still dialog with them they don't die and they still can actually talk, move and jump around until they finish their role or just go along with their injuries for a certain amount of time. I don't think this is the case in real combat!
Ahem, even because the sound of the several shots that the other hunters had already heard, which was the reason they went since you can obviously hear it from afar, is not the problem, right, but the guy screaming in despair, a few seconds before Joel kill him, trust lol
Brian: *drops knife* Joel to Ellie: "Get back behind the wall" Brian: No, No, No, No, No! Ellie: *turns walking towards the hole in the wall, getting inside* Joel: *Proceeds to kill him with the knife he just gave him*
honestly the only thing that bothered me about this scene is that the radio music wasn't playing in the truck durring the fight like in the actual game, when i heard about the show, i thought for sure they would've made this scene like the church scene in kingsman with joel fighting them with the radio music in the bacground, such a missed opportunity imo, rest of it is great tho
I see too many comments acting like these guys were raiders or bandits. They’re actually just normal survivors in the show. They’re all on the lookout for Henry and other Fedra collaborators and survivors in Kansas City. That’s why they shoot on sight, they’re not common bandits or inherently evil people. They’re just survivors. That’s not to say they didn’t need to die or anything, but they’re definitely not irredeemably evil bandits who don’t deserve sympathy. They’re human beings who were dealt a crappy hand looking for some justice against the Fedra soldiers who wronged them. It’s quite tragic actually. They were sitting out there waiting to dish out some justice against Fedra, and now they’re dead. Once again, not without good reason, but still sad nonetheless.
Didn't get the point of this scene. He turned car away from the guy just to hit the mall? What is this script? Was it hard to do as in videogame? Cause, you know, they were pushed by a truck into the mall...
In the videogame it's a cutscene and you're inside the vehicle, there's no road spikes, but as they're charging down the road in their truck, a bus comes from the side and knocks them into a half-spin and that's when they smash into the shop. In the tv show I'd just assumed Joel had lost control of the vehicle after the tyres got blown - maybe it was pulling to the left so he overcorrected to the right. Plenty of drivers have similar problems on a curve on a rainy night, and that's without anyone shooting at them or the windscreen being smashed.
@@sonder_ua well that's probably because when dealing with an actor whom you just paid $10 million to, you don't actually have him drive a vehicle with ripped-up tyres while people are shooting at him.

Just thought. Ellie asks Joe to take Bill's weapons with them. Joe says no for logistics. But they're in a car so weight isn't a problem.
It stands to reason that FEDRA are the only ones making 5.56mm anymore, so switching to a .308 or some other hunting cartridge isn't all that ridiculous.

In the game, he gets subdued from behind by one of the hunters while he's regaining consciousness from the car accident, the guy slams his head into a glass and then tries to push his head into a sharp glass to slit his throat, and Joel, despite still being half-unconscious and in a terrible position to wrestle, still overpowers the guy, knocks him out with one punch, and pushes him into the glass the guy was going to stab him with. th-cam.com/video/Js59biTfIzk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=abFGukrnH0oYCgYf
However, here he loses ridiculously to a guy who's skinnier than him.
Kid gave Joel his own execution weapon 💀
That's exactly exactly how you deal with people in a post-apocalyptic world. It's not a coincidence that most human beings vanish in such a scenario.
Good idea, conseve precious ammo and go for the melee kill
Maybe go reverse next time instead of driving into the known trap..

I got my ass kicked in this mission lol
Letting a guy scream like that when you're worried about more people showing up isn't a great move! 🤣
Ahem, even because the sound of the several shots that the other hunters had already heard, which was the reason they went since you can obviously hear it from afar, is not the problem, right, but the guy screaming in despair, a few seconds before Joel kill him, trust lol
Ellie: “Are we gonna help him?”
Joel: “Put your seatbelt on Ellie.”
Ellie: “What about the guy?”
Joel: “He ain’t even black.”
In the game, Joel stabs a guy with a broken window pane. This is not realistic. 😂

Wow!
@@greenwithagun He drives straight forward, then makes a hard turn to the right straight into shopl. 0 acting signs of loosing control.
