It was this episode that finally answered the question of how leonerd could tolerate a roommate like sheldon. He had a lifetime of practice. 😂
Because Sheldon character is quite similar to Leonard mom.
@@kapilshastry mom and Sheldon are very similar
Further on Sheldon actually got to hangout a lot with Leonard's mother
Yeah, I noticed that. Is she an older female version of Sheldon or is Sheldon a younger male version of Leonard's mom? Only the show's writers would know that.
Urinate in the middle stall 😁
I love how Howard and raj are fighting like an old married couple and all Sheldon cares about was them going to the comic book store without him😂
Yeah, Sheldon was miffed his daddies went to the comic store without telling him😂.
Lol
With Sheldon it is always about him.
@@nicholasmaude6906 😂😂😂
Yeah, it's true
“You brought your husband to work you know the rules” I CACKLED 🤣
Howard: "You must be very proud."
Beverly: "Why? They're not my accomplishments."
DAMN! XD
A proof that Beverly is a cold mother to her other children as well not only to Leonard LOL
@Schrödinger's Cat Yes I mean she's one of the worst mothers on TV women like this exist and they don't deserve to be called mothers
@@blancarosales3400 It's amazing none of her kids grew up to be sociopaths or psychopaths or whatever...
@Schrödinger's Cat Or she just might be on a spectrum, or a sociopath (that rarely become murderers) and your comment is a stretch
His statement was ambiguous. He meant she should be proud of them as her children, having good lives. She took it as she should be proud of their achievements by proxy, like a stage mother.
""you went to the comic book store without me 😑" classic Sheldon
I love this show and it calms my nerves
More classic is finding out later in the series that at some point he secretly got his DL & told nobody while still demanding rides from everybody. This even though he had more than ample money to buy a car & insure it.
@@Beezlie727 which episode
@@maskedbandit8126 not sure but Amy taught him...
How dare they XD
You brought your husband to work you know the rules 😂😂😂😂
and so do I.
She is literally the female version of sheldon cooper no wonder Leonard could handle him so well.
Yeah but she worst
I dont think shes the same as sheldon cooper. Leonards Mom is more cold
Naaaa the difference is Sheldon is difficult & can be at times insufferable. Leonard’s mother is simply cold.
except sheldon actually tries to help leonard alot of the time lol even when he cant be helpful
Sheldon is an annoying, helpless, whiny child who is always complaining about stupid crap. Beverly is a mature independent adult.......as well as a cold emotionless robot with no blood in her veins. I doubt she even has veins, just microchips.
Howard lives with his mother, and Raj can't speak to women unless he's drunk!
Gooooooo!!
Leonard is like "Unleash the beast"
Leonard: Release the hounds!
Release the kraken
Revenge is a dish best served, with a cup of cold psychoanalysis
This was awesome!
2:18 that wicked "payback time" smile from Leonard 😂😂😂
2:18
"Just so you know, we're NOT in an ersatz homosexual relationship." *Howard and Raj proceed to bicker like an old gay couple* 🤣
this scene is legendary!
legend wait for it
@@keerthanajaishankar1883 dary
ABSOLUTELY, yeah
Spot on Bruv
What's legendary about it?
Raj: No, I think mocking you is more fun.
Leonard: So you've chosen death ☠️
Their Bromance is out of this world
They were even arguing like a married couple at the end of the scene😂.
they are just like CARL and LENNY from the simpsons
And this why Leonard is really the smartest one in the group
In street smarts, yes, but everyone else has better book smarts. The only reason he can do this is because he knows his mother very well.
@@maxrichards3881 Leonard is not an average guy too. He is also book smart.
@@maxrichards3881 did you even watch the show ? After Sheldon leonard is the smartest scientist in the group.
@@Propraj Well, it been implied few times that Raj is slightly smarter than Leonard (if you take iq into consideration) with Howard being the 'dumbest'
@@maxrichards3881 Leonard is on par with the rest of them but he also has both street and emotional intelligence, Sheldon completely lacks any non academic intelligence but his sister as a child was emotional genius of sorts and his brother has a gift with tires.
"Mesa thinking yousa looking pretty sad now too betcha betcha!"🤣
😂😂😂😂 payback is sweet
XD
I like the actress who plays Leonard's mom her straight face & voice is classic in itself. She was good in Birdcage & then u see her this way makes it really classic
@Lynne Crisp Mrs Hofstadter played by Christine Baranski (I think that's right). I read an interview with Christine about how the BBT creators were just going to have her appear in one or two episodes. But they liked her work so much that she had appearances in every season after that. Christine said she loved that they wanted her back, and to expand the Mrs Hofstadter character. Great actress - so right for that part 👏
@@comealongcomealong4480 I totally agree. Different from Bird Cage
she was great in the good wife
@@kushal4956 I’ve only seen her in the good wife and only seen a coupla these episodes and was kinda freaked out seeing her here.
@Rob and mamma Mia 😁 loved her in those movies
One of the funniest moments they created. They were all so brilliant in this.
I really only smiled when Lennard had his moment and at the way Sheldon looked at the married couple arguing 😄
0:30 I love the fact she is genuinely frustrated with Howard asking that question.
This entire show is essentially that everyone has issues stemming from their childhood
Leonard: cold distant mom, no affection
Howard: no dad, no male role model
Raj: cant talk to girls, spoiled
Sheldon: dad died early, also all the other stuff you can write paragraphs about
Penny: dad wanted a boy
The funny thing about penny is that she already has a brother so I'm guessing it's just inconsistent writing.
@@dauntlessmind4348 I think she always had a thing for being friendly with the hot famous girls in her school.
To be fair, everyone has issues stemming from their childhood since no parents are perfect. Most of the issues you just described are very common.
@@dauntlessmind4348 ohhhh yeah
Amy: Cold harsh and controlling mother
Bernadette: Grew up with multiple siblings and had to fight to get what’s her while faking niceness
I assume that filming this four minutes must have taken well over two hours. The angle on Howard at 02:22 alone deserves a 20 minutes standing ovation. I wonder how they toned down the audience reaction to this level.
You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Leonard's younger siblings used him as a sacrificial lamb to get away from their mother somehow. Really fits to his mother issues.
Sacrificial lamb to get away from their mother? I don't get it, how?
As far as we know he only had one sibling as his half-brother (I think) Sam - unfortunately we only saw him once so no chance of any extra details or development
I think you mean Leonard.
Howard is an only child-at least he was at the time of this episode!
otherwise known as a meat shield, throwing another person in front of you to take all the heat so your issues won't be a target
Great scene. Howard's "Say What?" is priceless !!
I love how Lenard turns the tables on Howard, so funny!!!!
Lenard looks so happy and proud with himself 😂😂
The way Raj and Howard argue like an old married couple😂😂😂😂
And I thought Sheldon will mock them because of this relationship but turns out that Sheldon only cared about comic books store visit 😂
I love how Leonard unleashes his mother as if she’s the Kraken.
Kunal’s delivery of the “You always say that, but we never do” line was inspired.
From?
I love Leonard’s joy of his mother examining Raj and Howard’s relationship and concluding they are gay. 🤣🤣🤓🤓
Jar Jar Brinks of the Hofstader family... Damn, that's savage.
I think Leonard did a better Jar Jar.
2:54 this scene is simply genius, Sheldon is clearly very similar to Leonard's mother and the reason Leonard seems to still stay close to Sheldon even though Sheldon drives him mad is most likely because of his loveless childhood. But his mother does not seem to see this because now she is involved in it. And Leonard fearing his mother says something about this or that he himself realizes this, wants to get out of this situation as fast as possible.
Early seasons of big bang theory are amazing-
Christine Baranski is brilliant.
It would've been fun if we'd had a TBBT/Cybil crossover where Dr. Hofstader runs into Mary-anne😂.
2:18 Leonard getting all smirky 😂😂
I love that one of the only times that Leonard smiled in this episode was when his mother mentioned that Howard and Raj had an ersatz homosexual marriage!!!
Howard deserved that. He was such a little prick.
The deadpan delivery of ‘I have to urinate’ is quite simply fantastic.
Leonard SO pulled one hell of an UNO REVERSE CARD. If you all will excuse me, I am going to watch this video again.
😂😂😂 genius
The look on raj's face 2:15 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This scene is a masterpiece!
Finally a scene where sheldon isn’t the centre of attention
agree to disagree. sheldon is the best character ever created. periodt!
@@treebles wrong lol .sheldon is only good when the rest are supporting him
@@broly425 False
@@broly425 your comment makes no sense. Sheldon IS the best character on the show whether you understand that or not. I can write long essays, but that won't be necessary, considering people have to "agree" that he's not the focus point of group. Remove Sheldon from the show and you have a very mediocre sitcom that BBT would be without him.
His facial expressions towards the end still steals the scene
"I can't believe you're bringing that up!" XD
With his inteligence, friends and family like this, Leonard had everything to become a supervillain
Me when I see Raj and Howard having couple fights: Well if you hate him so much, why don’t you marry him?!
One of the funniest moment ever on TV 2:10 I knew it was coming and I'm still dying...
Loved Raj and Howard ‘sfriendship!
Howard and Raj have sum called a Bromance😂
Christine Baranski was nothing less than perfection as Leonard's mom and personality-wise it was almost like she was Sheldon in drag😹aka intelligent as all hell with absolutely no filter whatsoever.
Not sure I would say they came off as intelligent. More akin to emotionally stunted and autistic.
The smile on Leonard face. legendary haha
The fact that Jim parsons (actor of sheldon) is gay by himself, makes this scene even better.
Also when he is in the bookstore looking for a book about making friends and comments about a children's book "Probably about homosexual rabbits."
1:45 "Mesa thinken you no have a big mouth now okie day."
There has never been a more ersatz homosexual relationship than this one. LOL. Oh Lord I'm laughing so hard it hurts.
Was Xena and Gabrielle real or ersatz?
It even got grandfathered into Howard and Bernadette’s relationship
Would've been more interesting if he married Raj instead of Bernadette
they are just like CARL and LENNY from the simpsons
This is the episode that made me watch the whole TBBT
In bladder voiding......it's location location location. Super agreeeeeedddddddd
3:22 OH. MY. GOSH. THEY. LITERALLY. ARE.
I love how they never showed his other siblings
Ridiculous claim that his *younger* brother is tenured, esp at a law school.
He was grovelling, pitiful character. Showing more successful siblings would have brought his stock down further.
Yeah, they didn't even show up for Leonard's wedding even though at least Penny's brother showed up. (I guess her sister was busy with her kids.)
@@martyshakal7067
Yet he bagged the extremely beautiful Penny. So he really isnt all that pitiful.
@@youmustcreateachanne
Why? Because he would be too young for that to occur?
All Sheldon could pick out from their argument was that they went to the Comic store without him😂😂😂😂
They are basically arguing like an old married couple 😂
they are just like CARL and LENNY from the simpsons
wow… I totally understand why Leonard has so much “mommy issues” with that “Why? They’re not my accomplishments” remark alone
No wonder he gets on so well with Sheldon
Raj is the most homosexual straight in television prove me wrong
One of the best! I want this show to come back!
Dr. Beverly is WICKED.
Leonards Revenge, lol
leonard looks so different here. he was quite the handsome fella.
I LOVE Raj and Howard's friendship!
They're gay. Especially Raj.
"Say what?" lol
Raj went 80% homo klingon in series 3 yet turns out not to be gay.
just a peace of art. Pure perfection.
You went to the comic bookstore without me.,😂
At the end of the scene, I thought Sheldon will comment about Raj and Howard but he says “you went to comic book store without me!?”
I can’t stop laughing. Sooo Sheldon 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Howard & Bernie - ✖️
Howard & Raj - ✔️
Never get tired of Leonard's gloating face
That palpatine and jar jar impression from Howard was just spot on.🤣🤣
I think Leonard did a better Jar Jar.
@@Fazzel well then you are LOST!!
Now Leonard’s mom make Howard suffer!
Yep Raj is definitely the wife in this relationship 😆😆😆😆😆😆
For some reason i feel like Raj and Howard belong together🤣🤣
Right!!!
ME TOO, my theory is that if bernadette never appeared they would be a couple
1:22 I just love Sheldon reaction here, he doesn't start to mock or laugh at his friend, he just smiled.
Sometimes he was so innocent.
You brought your husband to work you know the rules🤣🤣🤣🤣
The way leonard said goo as he just unleashed the beast on howard & raj
Leonard looks pretty cute here 😊
2:36 she tries to hold the laugh lol
i saw LEONARD almost laugh 😂 👀👀🤣❣️
I was really sad today. Long story short this put a smile on my face😑😔
EDIT: btw thanks for all the likes guys
Lol
This is one of the best scenes that they ever did.
I forgot how smooth and matter of fact she called their relationship homosexual to their face that i spit out my drink. 😂😂😂😂
And that's why you don't pick on the child of a psychologist/psychiatrist, because anyone who specializes in studying personality and the brain are the last ones you want to focus on you.
"So, where were we?"
Christ Almighty, Leonard jumped on that opening faster than a pack of dogs on a box of milk-bones. 😆
Beverly was onto something.
Howard and Raj sorta deserved that 😎
Leonard's mother completely misses the point of repeated research. the first time, there could be unknown mistakes. it is only through repetition that something becomes accepted truth.
True... not to mention that Leonard's field is experimental physics which, as the name suggests, deals with experiments and confirming/disproving theories. The nature of such field comes with it repeated research.
Sheldon wasn't trying to kick Leonard when he was down but Howard amd Raj were for no reason. Yet people call Sheldon the difficult one.
Sheldon does it all the time. But not at this time.
Awesome that Jim Parsons has a sense of humor for these jokes!
Not everyone is a snowflake. Just because Internet normalises getting offended at the jokes doesn't mean people aren't allowed to laugh.
Clearly Raj is the emotional-unappreciated-taken for granted wife in this marriage 😂😂
If Sheldon never met Amy, Leonards mom could of been the one.
That’s such a deep burn it borders on cataclysmic
This scene is so iconic that whenever I use to see Howard and Raj together I use to laugh just remembering this scene.please come back BBT.pls.life is so boring without you.
Wow man,Leonard’s friends are assholes ,glad he put the conversation against s Howard and Rajesh .
its so funny they say Leonard is less successful, he's an experimental physicist at cal tech
-and THAT, Howard is what JUSTICE looks like!
This whole show is focusing on traumas and pains since childhood:
Leonard: insecurities (in love, in achievements)
Howard: no dad so no male achievements (like sports)
Raj: low confidence (due to pressurizing parents), want of love
Sheldon: dad died early, and many stuff (whole show is around his problems)
Penny: dreams to far
Amy: wanted to be "popular girls"
Bernadette: *nothing ig*
Now I would be using 'urinate' instead of 'go to toilet' seems more efficient.
