  • In this video, I am modeling my first prop (stairs) for an environment Lost Oasis. The scene is in a hot desert where the oasis barely surviving I want to achieve a kind of Ghibli style with a touch of realism. I love the watercolor blending feal.

    Amazing work, I was curious why you didn't retopologize after after sculpting?

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks, I would love to know that too :-D, I think I miss edited the video. Or I did retopo and then after that, I decided to change a few details and forget to record the second retopo and clean up. I made a lot of mistakes in this video.

      @Jakub Masarik can you say.If I want to do model like that for game engine ,I must do retopology? And how correctly do it?

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lisniakaleksandr6923 It depends. If you doing it for your personal project just do decimate in Zbrush, it saves time a lot. Good for a portfolio though is to show that you actually can do good retopo or at least show that you understand the workflow. But for inorganic assets like this one I have made does not matter as long as you can manage to do a good bake without artifacts.

    hey love this! curious on why you have a preference to sculpt in zbrush instead of blender?

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I Just learned Zbrush first. I never tryied blender sculpt. But for what I did in Zbrush it is enough to do In blender. But more advanced sculpt i would not do in blender. Personal preference only.

      he basically used the Scrape brush for the edges..

    Sorry for being dim but I'd love to know how you added the internal faces after the loop cut???

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, I was wondering what you mean by that but then I realized :). If I am correct it is in the 0:45 minute? If so, you need to separate the meshes (Select mesh and press P) so each brick does not touch them selfs then you just select edge and pre F (fill)

    If I had £200 to drop would you recommend zbrush or substance painter?, I’m learning unreal 5 and blender and was wondering which would compliment them best. Thanks in advance , great vid

    • @JakubMasarik
      @JakubMasarik  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on your needs. You can do basic sculpting in blender. So i would prefere substance painter. There should be permanent licence on steam unlike zbrush. The basic sculpt you can do in blender and its faster, you don have to export anything. But if you sculpting some high detail rock i woild reccomend Zbrush but in the end you will need substance painter to texture it.

    for the same price, you could sculpt the rocks in blender

    • @JakubMasarik

      You can use any software you like. It was always about the outcome and speed and how confortable you are with the software. I knew zbrush better for sculpting than blender and when I was learning There was only Zbrush capable sculpting in.
