That... was... CRAZY!!! I can't believe such show exist, i totally agree, this is like a fever dream And that original pitch makes me think of gargoyles if they were vampire cybertronians, i would've loved that
Now this was a pleasant surprise for my inbox! I have missed TJ TV for a long time. I think if anything this shows how skilled you are as an entertainer- the daily discussion videos, etc are great but this and the recent-ish Plastic Addict display you're just as good at scripted content. I know this can't have been easy to put together under the current schedule, so I wanted to thank you for this. It's fantastic, and I had quite a few laughs learning about a terrible show I'd only really ever heard of but never saw. They really would throw anything at the wall back then to see what stuck, huh? Hearing 'Ginger Grant' was also nice and nostalgic. Juggernaut was awesome, and it's a shame that TH-cam's draconian copyright rules forced it to be exchanged for the 'old' theme, but considering this is a show about nostalgia...er, *NO*-stalgia, rather, I think it fits fine. Great work TJ!!
Fun fact; The DVD releases for Van-Pires gave the show title an additional tagline, rendering the full title out as Van-Pires Transform. As if it wasn't already blatant enough.
I remember a long-standing rumor that Gary Oldman was the actor for Van He'llsing, but now that I know the limited budget they were working with, clearly that never could've happened.
SSSS was great. It featured a Lawrence Brother, a guy who would later become Justin Beiber's lawyer (no I am not making that up), one of the guys who would later star in Tattoo Alien Fighters, and oh yeah Tim F'in Curry as the main villain. I'd unironically love to see you cover the show.
He actually did, but the old videos were hosted on a now defunct service so they're currently sitting on TJ's hard drive, and unless he edits some of these shows to comply to current standards it'll probably stay that way.
This reawakened my memories of owning that DVD from 2007. I think my parents found it at a dollar store a year or two later though. I completely forgot I watched it as a kid until now
I spent the better part of 30 years with this show hazily living in my brain and trying to find it but never being able to even remember the name of the show. I found it and acquired a copy of it several months ago and then promptly deleted it because... I mean, do I need to explain why? Then TJ comes along and does a TJTV on it and makes me remember it again. Good video TJ, thank you.
What's even more spooky about this show being a Power Rangers X Transformers ripoff was it aired in 1997, the same year Power Rangers Turbo and Beast Wars would be airing. Not only did they rip off Beast Wars with its CGI animation but the way the cast transforms into the robots using a key is pretty much spot on how the turbo morpher works in Power Rangers Turbo. Is it one thing to be blatantly ripping off the two IP's, but to also blatantly rip off the two IPs current airing seasons and air in the same year? This show had balls of shame.
Had to take my dog to the vet today after he gave me and my partner quite the scare, this was a plesent surprise to come home to. Thank tj, I needed this.
I will admit I thought it was odd an ambulance was one of the villains. Given ambulances are usually 'heroic'. Hearing the original pitch where the Vanpires became heroes made a lot more sense. Since I doubt the show was smart enough to intentionally subvert expectations like that.
well this is a surprise, but a welcome one nevertheless. I'm genuinely curious, was the whole doing a picture in picture, for a lack of a better word ''reaction style video'' because of ''creative choices'' or a ''production constraint''? since it feels like the latter (and its totally understandable if it is, setting up another camera angle for cutaway gags is not easy as you even joked about in this very episode) because there always was just a certain something to those ''cutaway gags'' stuff like the ''lets start right at the beginning with episode one * deep sigh* *press play on the remote* as you got into the episode breakdown always did make me chuckle for some reason. also give yourself some credit TJ there was in my opinion no need for the ''I'm sorry if I'm rusty'', I get why you put the disclaimer in there, but you shook of that old rust like was not even there, and I'll note that besides the perceived production constraints I thoroughly enjoyed this episode and the fact I got to ''experience old TH-cam again, if only for a bit'', it's genuinely unfortunate this series never really got to find its footing because most companies don't know what fair use is... but hopefully this episode sticks around so those that missed out on the original run of TJTV get to see what it was like.
I prefer to think of it as streamer layout, and it's a style choice, I just like how it presents better, I get to be on screen without taking away from the subject I'm discussing.
@@TJOmega ah so it is creative choice, hopefully you did not take me taking it as a production constraint personal, and I can see how it douse have its advantages in terms of the pacing of the video that I did not consider before, so thank you very much for taking the time to reply and keep up the good work!
@@TJOmega thanks very much for answering! I never heard of Thais who before seeing this in my subscriptions feed so it will be quite a ride to see this review.
Okay this is hilarious. I was literally just talking with some friends yesterday about this show, and was gonna throw some money at the patreon in hopes that I could get you to do this exact video. Guess someone beat me to the punch.
I remember as a child being so excited for Beast Wars on Saturday mornings that I'd often accidentally wake up around an hour early, at 6:00 am. Guess what was playing at that time?
There was one cool concept in this show: All damage the heros take as Motorvater actually gets translated as damage on their Carffin so they had to actually repair the car to be back to full strength. I remember catching Vanpires at like 6 AM. Could have been Beast Wars but noooo... So... Shadow Raiders next? Monkey Magic?
No longer kicking down the doors of sweet revenge. Oh well. At least the show is back, I think. Once a review on an awesome or ok show is done. That was how it worked, right?
I am the one, AND I MEAN ONE, person who liked this show as well as Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters. I also have legit mental illness. And now I wonder if the illness caused the like or vice versa.
it'll probably be impossible to know for sure if this was an influence, but 'Motorvators' was also the name of the sub-group that the Euro-G1 redecos of the Road Caesar team were released as
When I was a kid, I saw half of a single episode of this at 6:00 am while sleeping over at a friend's house before they woke up. For years, every time I tried to tell someone about this thing I saw, no one knew what I was talking about, so I eventually concluded that it was a weird dream I had. then, a few years ago, I found the show and learned its name. I should be relieved I was right, but part of me is disappointed this really happened...
I actually remember this. When I was a kid I saw two or three episodes. The only one I have the Vegas of memories about, was the episode about the Tomboy showing that she could be girly.
caught a glimpse of a dvd box of this at my local library once or twice, but never actually watched it. i recognized the tubular haircut of the blonde hero immediately as a product of the mid to late 90s where they were just beginning to go overboard with the intensity and edge. good times.
I have a faint memory of a show in a junkyard with a sentient big wheel bike. I thought it was just something my chiled brain made up... Until TJ started describing that very thing!

THIS IS MY FAULT AND I DON'T APOLOGIZE.
Everyone is thanking you because it resulted in a new episode of TJ TV.
Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad was made from the tsuburaya property Electric Superhuman Gridman.
why would you apologize? if anything we should be thanking you
Apologize? Thank you for a new episode of TJ TV!
Don't apologize! Drop more random shows to get TJ to do more episodes :p
That Minecraft model gag caught me off guard 😂
18:15 for anyone wanting to find it quickly 😅
It was a nice touch!
You know what the saddest thing about this supposed Transformers knockoff is? There's NO transforming.
Do you realize how much that would cost!?
I think what's even more sad is that the show was financed by a toy company, but didn't have any toys made for it.
@@otaking3582Yeah. Did the toys get scrapped (Pun not intended) when the show got cancelled?
@@Rabbitlord108 I have no idea. I just know that when I googled the show, the only merch was the DVD's.
Errrr actually-y exist a character that transform. He appears in episode 2☝🤓
i never thought i'd see the day where a new tj tv is released

It would be kinda funny if the hippie Van He'llsing was actually one of the show writers. Cause that would answer alot of questions.

We've never been so back. A new tj tv! On youtube no less!
I loved these when I was younger glad tjtv is back
First time watching a TJ TV episode. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out! Love the humor in this, more would be great!
I did not realize how much I missed this intro! So good to have it back!
It was good to hear your plastic addict theme song again, also it's admirable how you can maintain your sanity actually analyzing this stuff...

TJ TV the reason i got in to Kamen Rider. Good to see it back.

I don’t mind the into being the classic Plastic Addict Into tbh, still gives me that same nostalgia vibe.
I was hyped when I saw it
Always love to hear the production stuff behind fever-dream series like this. Great video as always, TJ!
Of all the quotes from Turbo: "We're here to toss your salad!"
Ah Van-Pires. No I've never seen it, but I've heard of it. It's exactly what I expected. Now someone hurry up and make Car-riors!
I loved the new format tj! I hope with the new year you can do more stuff like this that I’ve never heard about!!!
This really brings me back, the return of TJ TV that is, I've never seen this eyesore of a show before.
Holy crap, a new TJ TV. I can’t believe the most recent one came out 8 years ago. Hope to see more of this and the plastic addict in the future

Idk if it's possible but I'd love to see all the old TJTV episodes reuploaded. The Kamen Rider episode in particular I miss
Unfortunately no, I've said it for years, they are impossible to safely post to TH-cam. The Kamen Rider video especially is ALWAYS sniped by Toei.
I think this aired on Sunday mornings, at least where I live.
These car puns made me want to steer into a ditch and let the Florida gators drive.
THERE'S NO END TO WHAT YOU'RE IN FOR, ONCE YOU'VE CROSSED THE LINE... YOU JUST CROSSED THE LINE. Well someone's gotta sing it.
