I would've developed it as an episode of that old show called, "Tales from the Dark Side." I would've given the episode the title: "Meat Wagon." I feel like that show would've been the perfect place for a story like that due its campy nature combined with obscure horror.
Plot twist : nothing happened it was all in the hippie's mind after he got extremely high on a combination of weed and gasoline when the series was over so was his trip
Given how in the first episode the Motor Vaters and Van He'llsing know who the Van-Pires already are and their motivation without having met them first, that makes the most sense to me.
What if there were vag-pires? I think it would've been droll to write that the car monster rapes the hot chick with metal mechanical dick. See how funny I am? People should buy up my "Impact" a James Grider novel on Amazon so I can afford a used car.
Weeaboo Peakaboo *PLOT TWIST #2 ::* The hippie is really Sirius Black, who miraculously survived falling through the Veil, but aged dramatically and lost his memory (and, to an extent, his sanity) in the process. Because Sirius was the only known survivor of such an incident, the Department of Mysteries sought to perform a series of tests and experiments on Sirius to fully analyze the long-term effects of the Veil on a survivor, so they decided to modify his memory even further to give him a whole new identity and relocate him to a junkyard in America so they could observe him in secret while the rest of the wizarding world believed him to be dead. All of this coupled with Sirius’ recent high led to his then-suppressed magic going completely haywire, and now it’s only a matter of time before MACUSA will have to get involved. *DUN DUN DUNNN* *(I know there are several plot holes in that story I just wrote, but I just couldn’t resist.)* 😆
That's what happens when you have Jews writing shows for you or at least dictating the idea in some way. Makes sense that Jews have never left any art behind for archaeologists to find in 5,000 years. All their "art" was just crap to screw up and dumb down the host nations.
This actually came from my roommate. She was at the 99-Cent Store, stumbled upon this DVD, and thought it might make for a nice review. And boy, was she right! lol According to wikipedia, it was made here in the States (so no, it's NOT Video Brinquedo), and it aired mostly on Fox & WB affiliates. And, as PoisonRainVornado pointed out, this actually won a handful of awards. O_o Crazy...
The most I remember about this show, was the time the count wanted to marry the female hero and the others had to rescue her before sunrise. For some reason. There was also some old mystic van-pire that was some sort of tank. He helped the heroes by refueling them with some fuel that was an "old family recipe". Honestly I kinda wanna know more about that guy. might have to watch some eps to find him. wish me luck😂
yea...I was literaly laughing A LOT during the opening of "vam-pire" in the right moment it said "robots that suvck the gas ou of innocent cars" then I couldn't hold myself during the entire opening.
"The series was rated #1 in its time slot during several broadcasts in various United States and International markets." "It... ultimately received a Sci-Fi Award." ...What...? This animation looks straight from Video Brinquedo. Seriously, I grew up watching Beast Wars and Johnny Quest and this makes the animation from those shows look like Avatar... Big Bad Beetleborgs had more dignity than this...
Seeing this makes me somewhat wish this series would be rebooted and/or made into a movie. With updated... everything... It might be cool, but I consider Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad and Teenage Tattooed Alien Fighters From Beverly Hills to be cool as well, so idea of "cool" may be iffy at best.
+Adam Kay Ah the 90s'. You could make a show out of anything back then, but only if it meets these 3 criteria s 1. It must rip-off Power Rangers by not only having a group of color coordinated teenagers, but also have alternate color coordinate super forms. 2. It must have at least 4 adjectives in the title, or just a bad pun such as this show. 3. They also have to face a monster of the week that has to tie in with teenage social dilemmas and have a giant form of it.
@Caleb Barnes SSSS: Gridman? Never heard of it. I might want to check it out. And I still hope Van-pires got a reboot/remake/whatever, y'know? Perhaps as a full CGI show.
Hmmm, I am a villain on a hostile planet with telecommunications. Hey, I know, I will sneak in behind the next car commercial so the world can see how hansom I am, I mean why not? its not like I risk retaliation making my presence well known.
I used to watch this as a kid but when I wanted to look it up to see how it held up, I found there were no illegal episode uploads of it on TH-cam for me to watch. Until this review, all I could find was someone uploading the intro and that video had the crazy description "Before the Transformers, there were the Van-Pires."
It's weird... You'll hear all the big studios clamoring to put a stop to internet piracy, and yet I'm finding more and more that it's the smaller folks who actually make it REALLY hard to find their works online. *shrug*
And things that aren't terribly popular are less likely to have fans that rip the content to share online. There's things I'm sure I've watched but can't even find obscure wiki entries about.
Come to think of it, considering one of their show's protagonists is a...sort of...hippie, it's odd they're protecting oil and basically fighting directly to protect the oil monopoly....
My theory is that when the show got cancelled Unicron came to devour their planet, the four hero's dough that pulling his wire's would kill him, but they were wrong, one by one got sucked in to Unicron and killed by getting crushed along side with the villain's, trakula being the only one left dough he won but a Portal opens an a wierd figure appears, trakula tries to suck it's gasoline but when he tried he was blasted and killed by shockwave going through different dimensions, but shockwave at least has a new subject to dissect.
I assume they were going to bring the cars Tracula infected in Season 2 or were going to use them for the Season 1 finale but because of budget constraints they had to go with the whole T Rex ghost thingy.
Mainframe is a Canadian company. With every Beast Wars and Reboot they make, there's always gonna be fodder for Barbie. Oh yeah Mainframe made most of the CGI Barbie films
Possibly a coincidence, but the name of the heroes is practically identical to a somewhat obscure, Europe-exclusive Transformers line; the Motorvators (no hyphen) were straight re-releases (sans combiner kibble) of three of the Brainmasters from the Japanese-exclusive _Victory_ toyline. Like I said, it could just be a coincidence, given when the show came out (I mean, it's not like they could just google it or anything) but considering how blatantly they were riding Transformers's coattails, it's certainly a bit odd.
WOW, where did you get this series? I am trying to find a good download for a while (because this thing is so bad, it's almost good) but to no avail. And... that was poor Gary Oldman? Yikes. Seems like he is only being given good roles more recently... I do wonder if the Van-Pires had any toys. They transform in a very simplicistic way, but some of the baddies have nice designs. Lack of legs, though, are weird. Funnily, there WERE official Transformers called Motorvators. That was the European name of the re-released 1989 Brainmasters here!
Wow...I was just thinking about this...My Nostalgia was doing so many favors for this, it really doesn't hold up. Hey, I was four when this came out, Don't judge me for having fond memories of this.
alien transforming vans that are also robot vampires that drink gasoline that are the enemies of 4 teenagers that can also transform into vans that transform into robot mechs
When it comes to imitation shows, I remember when I was a little kid there was a Power Rangers knockoff called, "Big Bad Beatle Borgs." It's like a weird verison of Transformers and Power Rangers... like wtf? I feel as though traditional animation would've been a better route for this one... depending if they had good animation for it, if not, it should've been killed. It's stupid. It's so dark you can barely see how shitty it actually is which I guess for this, it's a good idea on their part.
Hey Bob, did you know that the score of the series was composed by the late Jonh Entwistle, the bassist for The Who? He even released a soundtrack album (which was his last solo album before his death): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_from_Van_Pires
I reckon this show could be okay if things were changed. I like the human character displays and the 90's feel. But the vampire cars were kinda messed up badly, I like the leader's design and if the heroes had weapons then it may have been better. But I suppose this was an idea that could of being great just ruined by crash grabbing companies that'll throw anything out to find cash
i could easily see a reboot of this with better writing being pretty good if you made it in a 2d style similar to shows like ben 10 and generator rex and tweaked the lore a bit to be more air tight you could have a real winner here.
Yeah,I remember watching a few episodes when I was a kid and,at the time,I thought it would be on par with Beast Wars. But nope! With a little more development, they might have had something but as is I'm glad it didn't last because it was kind of half baked. Have a nice day END OF LINE
+Lonney Rollins Not only is this show half-baked, but so are the writers, animators, the people who green-lighted this, and the hippie character as well.
The idea of a vampiric ambulance is actually pretty scary if devolped more
I would've developed it as an episode of that old show called, "Tales from the Dark Side." I would've given the episode the title: "Meat Wagon."
I feel like that show would've been the perfect place for a story like that due its campy nature combined with obscure horror.
I'm surprised they didn't have a character called AluCARd
+Raziel312 Wocka wocka.... -_- lol
They sort of did. Episode 9 "A Car is Born" introduces Tracula's son Alucart. He likes puppies.
Raziel312
Trademarked by Hellsing Ultimate!
Carmen Van Morrison sounds a little like Ala cart.
Plot twist : nothing happened it was all in the hippie's mind after he got extremely high on a combination of weed and gasoline when the series was over so was his trip
What a tweest!
Initial D first stage had better 3D effects than THAT
Given how in the first episode the Motor Vaters and Van He'llsing know who the Van-Pires already are and their motivation without having met them first, that makes the most sense to me.

Plot Twist: That meteorite that crashed into the junk yard....Was Kars!
Van-Pires is Part 9 of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure!
That skateboard/toaster/desk fan hybrid looks like a rejected MST3K robot.
To my knowledge, the best car to come out of a junk yard was Megas XLR.
Technically the mech😊 part came out of the junk yard
Power Rangers: BEAST WARS!
This could have been so awesome...if it wasn't so terribly handled.
I think Power Rangers already did that idea with Wild Force.
Wait?
Is This Thing REAL!?!?!?!?!?
I...
I have no words...
This has "90's cheese" written all over it.
Cheese? This is a 90's cheese PIZZA

Bobsheaux
What awards?
Hey Bobsheaux. There is a soundtrack of this horrid series. *looks innocent*
This makes 'Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills' look like high art in comparison.
The funniest part of the series was that the Van-pires were singing a medley of Christmas carols during the credits in one episode.
Power Rangers meets Beast Wars. Unfortunately instead of getting Animorphs, we're stuck with Van-Pires.
The only one who can save us now is Van Diesel (Vin Desil pun)
+Folan Wolf *facepalm* lol
Back in 2nd grade, this show and "Extreme Dinosaurs" were my jam.
The intro felt like a parody by someone.
Honestly does. When I first watched it I almost died laughing due to how unintentionally funny it is with all of the shitty car puns and poor naration
+Mugen Calibur. i visited your channel. I applaud your collection of figurines 👏
thank you!
The most I remember about this show, was the time the count wanted to marry the female hero and the others had to rescue her before sunrise. For some reason. Honestly I kinda wanna know more about that guy. might have to watch some eps to find him. wish me luck😂
wonder if that was meant to infer some plot hook of the hippie guy being the Tank vanpire
I can't believe I'm typing this, but this show makes Power Ranger Turbo look competent!
To be fair, the last few seasons of Power Rangers have had that effect also.
Patience, patience... There will be more Brinquedo in the future... lol
`All the powers the all-spark has'...
... do you think Micheal Bay got confused what tv-show he was supposed to adept in to a movie franchise?
Oh your answer is in the End-credits jokes.
Never mind then...
yea...I was literaly laughing A LOT during the opening of "vam-pire" in the right moment it said "robots that suvck the gas ou of innocent cars" then I couldn't hold myself during the entire opening.
Each time I hear Motor Vators my mind stops working for a second or two. It sounds so wrong...
"The series was rated #1 in its time slot during several broadcasts in various United States and International markets."

Nice "The Brave Little Toaster" reference.
Holy crap, someone FINALLY got that! lmao
Bobsheaux Jason Hayes was great on Malibu CA. Do you remember that show.?
This is a real thing.
This actually aired on TV in the state that it was in.
I'm laughing my ass off right now holy shit.
I actually found a copy of Van-pires at a Goodwill, I bought it for about 2 bucks. I didn't want it to fall into the wrong hands
Has nobody even mentioned that they have to Finger their cars into it's Ignition in order to become one with the car??
I immediately lost interest at "innocent cars." Anyone else?
Francis Drake yep.
I lost interest at the mention of the name, "Trackula," while nearly face-palming myself into a coma...

As bad as this "Van pires" series may be, it does have some cool music by a member of The Who. Yeah, I'm not kidding.
I thought so too :p

This reminds me of that one episode of Prime where Starscream and Knock Out accidentally make a vampiric Terrorcon-Synthetic Energon virus.
I like that episode!
This is the most 90s show I have ever seen
My parents bought this dvd for me and my brother when I was 8 and I absolutely loved the show. It’s so cringy when I look back. How did I enjoy this.
It takes a special kind of hilarious personality to get 'sheet-faced' on camera!
@Bobsheaux
Can you review Funimation's Nowadays flatout mistake of a film they call Chuck E Cheese in Galaxy 5000.
I dare you to review The Toxic Avenger, either the movie, comic, or TV show.
Sad there where no Toys for the van-pires
I honestly would0 be surprised if Automaniac wasn't the basis for the Sweet Bot in Twisted Metal
Oh Rainmaker, why must your early CG be so godamn terrifying?
I assume they were going to bring the cars Tracula infected in Season 2 or were going to use them for the Season 1 finale but because of budget constraints they had to go with the whole T Rex ghost thingy.
"Something smells rotten here"
My thoughts exactly
Oh my... That might be worth a look. lol
Thank the special new 2024 TJ TV episode for resurrecting this obscure thing to memory again.
*listens to show's intro*...That has to be one of the stupidest premises for a show I've heard this year...
Oh my God... This is the show I've remembered but never been able to find
Thanks for the review!
I remember seeing an episode of this a long time ago... I grew up thinking it was a weird concoction of my imagination.
How about reviewing Sky High?
I remember this show, it was so obscure that at moment I thought I'd imagine it
Yeah, we have this at the truck stop beside the restaurant I work at, its about $10. (truck stop pricing I'd assume)
Man being born in 95 makes me wonder how I didn't see any of these shows
Idc what anyone says this was a part of my childhood and I love it🙏🏼
Raynor Shine is still one of the best stage names EVER.
holy crap I have the same bed sheet you do
Glad no beast wars crossover with the vanpires.
I can't believe I liked this as a kid.
So it's... Transformers + Animorphs? But... Bad...?
+Lishadra (C B) No, Transformers + Animorphs = Beast Wars. THIS is just bad. lol

+Swift Nimblefoot This was a donation by my landlady at the time. lol
Omg. I was thinking about this last week. I could not remember the name for the life of me. Thank u
Is it just me or some of the vanpires look like the guys from twisted metal
And people thought Power Rangers was corny, this show takes the cake with the cherry on top.
is it wrong to say this is probably what imspired a couple of sci-fi movies? (I refuse to call it syfy)
Wow...I was just thinking about this...My Nostalgia was doing so many favors for this, it really doesn't hold up. Hey, I was four when this came out, Don't judge me for having fond memories of this.
Vampiric Transformers. This should be a whole lot more awesome than it it.
Well at least the concept was done right in _Prime._
I guess it's a good thing that I don't remember this. It looks bad.
i actually remember this show., i think it was only on syndication channels.,,.
Honestly, this series looks so bad it's good.
"What are they gonna do when there is only van-pires?"
That's like asking what vampires would do in a world of only them?
Your roommate did not deserve to be overcharged eight bucks for that
How much coke was the writing staff using on this show in kilos per weak?
I am from the 90's I have never heard of this
alien transforming vans that are also robot vampires that drink gasoline that are the enemies of 4 teenagers that can also transform into vans that transform into robot mechs
I've never heard of this until now...and I can see why. O.o
Why does this remind me of Beast Wars from Transformers....
When it comes to imitation shows, I remember when I was a little kid there was a Power Rangers knockoff called, "Big Bad Beatle Borgs." VAN-PIRES was a non SABAN ALL AMERICAN MADE TOKUSATSU SERIES
I lasted until 0:54 and then my mind disintegrated
If there are any other youtube partners out there watching this vid, can you do me a favor and see if you still have the ability to give your vids custom thumbnails? The Custom Thumbnail button in my video manager has gone missing. :(
Why does this look like Re-Boot? Or Cyboars? If anyone remembers that
I know what Reboot is. But what's Cyboars?
@@legoking6165 It was a series distributed by FUNimation in 1999.

No wonder USA Network doesn't show cartoons anymore.

Somehow both too much and not enough. ^_^;;
I faintly remember seeing a couple of episodes of Van-Pires when debuted, and they were terrible!
