- This week's ASMR video is an eye exam! Christian's eye exam was so detailed and precise and I really hope you all enjoy watching it! So much was checked in this session including my vision, eye health, peripheral vision, retinal photographs and even my general health! I really hope this video can work as both an educational tool and also a tool for relaxation!

I've had troubles with sight all my life and my earliest memories of ASMR (long before it was ever referred to as such) are when I would visit my optometrist twice or more a year. He was a wonderful man who had treated my mother also when she was a child. RIP Dr Ted McGuinness, I'll forever remember.

What a very eclectic office, I like it! Also never seen an eye exam done manually like this, rather than with one of the machines that clicks and swaps the lenses around. Very cool!
A combination of some of my favourite things to help me relax or focus: soft spoken voices, eye / medical exams, little clinks of an old optometrist set. Love this! Thank you for the long videos too!

@AJ ! I don't think so, no. It's inherently good ASMR, but I don't think it's enhanced by knowing someone. I haven't seen him in around fifteen years either; maybe that makes a difference.
I like eye exams in particular. I always found them relaxing. except whenever they wanted to test for glaucoma

When I was younger I used to go to an optometrist like this with all the old fashioned equipment and paper records, this reminded me so much of this it was so nostalgic and relaxing

I'm just wondering how do you approach all of these professionals? Do you just walk and and be like "can I set up some cameras and microphones to make an ASMR video?" Haha I always wondered that and do they always agree?

she definitely asks in advance. I can't imagine asking last minute being a good strategy
If I was her to I'd email in advance, pay in full and tell them they could use the video for educational/marketing purposes.

What is the difference between the #1 and #2 test? Is that a lens which is different depending on which side is flipped, helping to calibrate the best lens settings?

I’m curious how you approach these appointments. Eye tests usually only last 20 minutes or so and I’ve never seen them go into such detail, do you request that they do that for the purpose of the video and pay extra or something? Do many of these places enjoy the spotlight?

I just went to the eye doctor today. and they gave me some testes. and they also gave me two eye drops. which I'm gonna have a new glasses soon now.
Not that this isn’t my number one new asmr(real) channel and just in general but does anyone now any other channels like this?

Enjoy all your eye exams and this one struck me, was Christian being unnecessarily long winded compared to the others I've watched. You've gone from a basic high street type exam to someone such as this - interested also how he noted the pigment mark on your eye like the guy in Cambridge and said the same more or less .More hopefully, nice to have on in the background and feel the grounding effect it gives off :-)
How'd you get the shots at 54:08, 54:55, 55:30 and so on?
The optometrist had his phone attached the camera so it could record what he was seeing (he uses it for his current research too!) He offered to let me use it for the video!😊
