Happy belated birthday! This video came at the perfect time. I listened to myself today! I have been looking for critique partners for my novel and received a very mean critique yesterday - completely out of step with the majority of my CPs and beta readers so far. There were no valid constructive notes. I struggled at first but had to trust my gut that this person wasn't a good fit to help me improve my work. But imagine if I had listened? My story would be totally different and not the story I want to write. As a creative, your inner compass is so important!
That’s so awesome! Yes it’s so easy to listen to other people’s opinions and give into them instead of checking with yourself! Glad that you found the right answer on the inside! ☺️🙏🏻
Happy belated birthday Daniel! I've been a big fan of your message for about two years now. I believe the first video I watched was Feeling Like A Failure At 40 // How To Stop Feeling Behind In Life. I still go back to that video from time to time. Great message in todays video and a good way to end the weekend and start the new week. Glad you had a good weekend! Best, Steve
Happy Belated Birthday !.....great reminder. In my experience I found that the more honest I am
with people, the more easier it becomes for me to be honest with myself ....once I get there ( which fluctuates sadly)
I find that listening to my inner voice and to trust it becomes easier...glad you reminded me of the book "Self Reliance".
Thank You :)
I listen to myself way too much 😅 but with that I will say I'm not always listening to the "right" things. I genuinely believe that our subconscious/inner child always knows what's best, but we often pass it off rather than really listen to it. Something new that I have been working on (and plan to make a video about) is journaling to my past and future self. I'm learning that it's a great way to connect with yourself and learn a lot about you. If that makes sense.
