  • Walk around or the 2005 Ls430 and the LS600h. How do they compare? What do you think they are worth and what would you rather have?
The LS600hl has 200k miles and the LS430 has 310,000 miles! Crazy right!?
Amazing cars and highly recommended. What are you thoughts and what do you have?
When I compare these to the German equivalents, I would never want to deal with the issues others have of this era. I have about $2k invested into the 600hl and only $500 invested into the 430! I wouldn’t think a BMW 750i or Mercedes S class of the same era could compete. Such reliable cars there is no comparison. Holler on what you think!!

Got a 2004 430 right now. I've turned it into a "VIP" build over the years. As much as I like the compliments that it receives, I actually would rather the car be completely stock. There's something real cool about these cars when they are stock, not just slammed on large wheels and loud exhaust systems like every new owner wants to do. Completely ruined the ride experience for me doing this to the car. I think I have had my fair run with this car for now. I think it's time to seriously start looking at the 460's that are available here. We can get the RWD and AWD (Import) 4.6 litre and hybrid models. Ideally would love a sub 200,000 km example of a 2008-2009 460.

Thank you for sharing these beauties! Of the luxury fullsizers of the 2000s, these are perhaps the only one to truly be worthy of decent ownership. I believe the 04-06 was peak LS in terms of build quality and overall execution. The 460 did modernize things considerably, but Lexus was truly relentless on perfection on the 430s.
Yes, the control-arms are very $$ and almost all of them have to get them replaced. The air suspension components are insane too, but not MBZ Airmatic crazy. But very few electrical or trim concerns to worry with.

I drive cars for my job, I wouldn't recommend getting a newer RX, you will most likely be disappointed with the quality, fit and finish and ride/driving dynamics compared to your 330. I just drove a 2018 RX and was shocked how they have gone downhill compared. Its really not worth all that money to get into something a little more modern. I would spend some money just updating your current vehicle. You can add all the tech you see in the new cars to any car fairly easily. Android auto/apple car play, wheel and tire package. Maybe replace some tired components like the ride control/shocks and struts so it feels new again? Have it detailed and the leather repaired and/or conditioned. Just give it some love it deserves and maybe you'll be more inclined to keep it?

I'm in the UK and I've owned both of these cars. Of course, they're both built to the highest standards that Lexus do so well. I now have an LS460, and in my opinion, this has to be the best Lexus ever! Very spacious, it has all the "toys" of the LS600H and better fuel economy than the LS430. My LS460 is very rapid, with outstanding acceleration; much better performance than the LS600H. I'd pick an LS460 over any Lexus for an all-round perfect car.
    Except for one thing...fun!
Don't misunderstand me, my LS460 is great to drive, or just to ride in; but for pure exhilaration, I also own a GS300 SE-L in candy apple red over silver. (Looks incredible!). The car has a "Silent-Sport" exhaust and power-ram air cleaner. It's quiet, really quiet, but I've yet to find anything - ANYTHING - that can catch it, right up to 175mph! Now THATS a fun Lexus!

The LS430 is slightly more quiet with less road noise. I personally think the 600 has more comfortable seats. The 600 has an amazing sound system. Very clear and a very tight bottom end.

The LS600hl came from a small dealer in Kansas City and was a Texas car. Got it out the door for $9,700. Everything I saw was between 9-13k in varying conditions and milage. It was so hard to figure out the market. Is that a good deal? What do you think?

Man, the LS430 must've been driven standing up. There's no wear on the seat

😆 the seat was re-foamed at some time so that really helps keep the wrinkles out

has anyone heard of a frame rotting? Im considering wrapping my 260 000 mile ls.

    • @mechanicalintentions5431
      @mechanicalintentions5431  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Like most cars, the LS is a unibody. Unlike a truck that the body sits on the frame. Possibly the sub frame you are talking about?
I personally am not a huge fan of wraps. You Have to get them done by very good professional to last long. Need to keep good care of them and they still only can last so long.

My car seems sound. But im in chicago is why i would be concerned wrapping it for thousands of dollars. It would suck if the frame went out.@@mechanicalintentions5431
