The herd is strong and the stray ones in Sweden might even build a new, steady population in Sweden as well. The animals for this project however, were brought to Norway from Canada, so the once local DNA from Norway is gone with the last one poached during the war.
Its not a very healthy population. We put down 3 last year alone due to too much inbreed. But it looks like some new dna will be introduced to the heard 24

What exactly are you hoping to demonstrate with this video? If you are just trying to show that the human species is the most dangerous killer on the planet you have done a really good job of it!
It's demonstrating that even with a well placed shot, different animals with adrenaline don't always die instantly. Even with 30 or over 40 caliber magnum, and animal can run a long ways even with a heart or lung perforation. Usually a central nervous system shot works quicker, but I've seen animals run off from head shots like it was a miss. Usually spine shots will at least paralyze, but they don't instantly die sometimes. Most all hunters would like an ethical kill, but it just doesn't always happen. Some people think rifles are overkill, and only a real hunter uses a bow or something more primitive. I've seen deer that had broadheads in their lungs from years before and lasted till the next hunter harvested it. Hunting isn't for everyone, it's not always easy, and sometimes the animal suffers more than intended. Nature is harsh. A large percentage of animals slowly starve to death. Most animals I hunt have a natural life span of 5-10 years, and I try to find animals toward the end of that cycle. That's all I get from this video. I'm in awe of the strength of nature.
@@scoyounger Thanks for your reasoned response but I am a hunter, with over 40 years of experience on deer, elk, moose, and antelope and I still think that many people will be really turned off by a video that just shows one shot after the next of animals being killed. It just looks bad and is not going to win any converts. So, my original concern remains the same.
Love the instant kills. I took a bison (ever had bison burgers?) with 2 shots from a .270 usually used for deer. For big/dangerous game I use a .300 Win Mag. What caliber suits your fancy?
